Hi and welcome to our next Socrates Café philosophy meetup! Do you have a hunger for deeper understanding of yourself and the world? Do you value deep, honest and respectful dialogue? If yes, then this meetup will be very interesting for you. • WHAT IS A MEETUP ABOUT? Our meetups are about our own philosophies of life and not necessarily what the great philosophers and academics have said or written. It is not a debating club or a platform for proselytizing. Instead, we place the emphasis on questioning, open mindedness and challenging our own assumptions while listening to and respecting the views shared by others. A Socrates Café meetup is considered a success when participants leave a discussion with many more questions than they had at the beginning. • WHAT TOPIC IS DISCUSSED AT THE MEETUP? Participants suggest topics at the beginning of each meeting. We then vote and choose that event's most popular topic for discussion. No academic training in philosophy necessary; just enthusiasm for exchanging ideas and points of view. Some examples of subjects chosen on previous meetups: * What ideals are worth dying for? * Why are we never satisfied? * Why is it that human beings know that the society is going wrong, leaders are well informed about it and things continue as is? * Is identity necessary? * How can it be that people in democratic societies are so obsessed with power? Our events gather people from different backgrounds, different cultures, while no philosophical background is mandatory. Volvemos a la carga con mucho teatro y más ganas que nunca de poder compartir este maravilloso arte con vosotros. Teatro en estado puro al alcance de todos! Este curso pretende facilitar el descubrimiento y la ejercitación de los hábitos creadores del actor en el alumnado. Haremos un repaso de todo lo aprendido (técnicas de formación del actor, cuerpo, voz, paleta emotiva, improvisaciones, desbloqueos…) para entrar a fondo en un trabajo de escenas cinematográficas y teatrales. Los alumnos aprenderán, mediante la práctica, a trabajar una secuencia cinematográfica y una escena teatral, se enfrentaran a retos de creación de personajes y escenas, en función de la necesidad de superación de cada alumno. Se les otorgará personajes y situaciones más conflictivas, siempre enfocándonos a la mejora y superación del trabajo interpretativo del alumno. Se trabajará a fondo el análisis de personajes y textos de distintos géneros, para finalmente presentar las escenas. Se incidirá más en el trabajo individual y grupal para mejorar las capacidades actorales. Todo esto intercalado, con clases prácticas y de formación actoral, para poder ir aplicando lo aprendido en las escenas y profundizar en un trabajo más completo. Para este grupo es necesario una experiencia mínima en teatro. No os preocupéis si no hay mucha gente apuntada por meetup, la actividad se hace igual porque tenemos más gente apuntada por otros lugares. Cada setmana fem una sessió diferent aprofitant el moment lunar en el qual ens trobem, per exemple lluna plena: agraïment, lluna minvant: deixar anar... Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area.
