Run+B-fast
Hi Running fellows,
Whether you’re a walker, new to running, a semi-pro, a marathonist or a sprint star - if you want to start your weekend in an active way and enjoy the outdoors in lovely surroundings with a fun, international and multilingual group of people, you are welcome to join us!
Every Saturday at 9:30 am, we meet, we run, in the magnificent Schönbrunn park, and then we go for breakfast.
Want to discuss politics or the best recipes for banana pancakes? Not a problem. Not feeling social? Tune out with your earbuds - we can talk over breakfast. We are casual. You can be too.
What to expect: Start by meeting Adrian, Ali, Liz, Paul and Sonia on-time at 9:30am outside the Schönbrunn U-Bahn stop (exit Grünbergstraße). (Coordinates: 48.1858130, 16.3200640) From there, we walk to the side park entrance where the “running” part begins. The important thing is that you run at your own pace. Typically, small groups of people will run at the same pace as you, so you never have to walk/run alone :)
We finish one hour later, at about 10:40am, reconvening just inside the Hietzinger Tor exit. (Coordinates: 48.1858825, 16.3032647). From there, we’re off to breakfast!
Breakfast Details: Anker bakery opposite the U4 Hietzing station and depending on the weather, grab something for a picnic in Schönbrunn park, or hang out in the bakery. If you missed us earlier, you can always go there around 10:45.
We are a fun group of runners who don’t take things too seriously. We meet, chat, RUN, stretch, chat, EAT and we hang out over a beer every now and then. It's that easy. Please join us for breakfast after the run! The more the merrier.
Typically we are 10-30 people, as not everyone who comes signs up on meetup.
Important disclaimer: Please only run as much as you feel you can, considering the temperature, weather conditions, your own fitness etc... run and walk at your own pace as the organizers do not assume any liability for any injuries or health issues. Sonia, Adrian, Ali, Paul and Liz

We the Lovely Folks of the **Saturday Film Club, are back for the 25th Edition** this Saturday! 🎬🌿🕊️

Film chosen for this week is:
🎥 **The Man Without a Past 2002**
A quiet, deadpan Finnish film about a man who loses his memory and starts a new life among society’s outsiders.
Warm, strange, melancholic, and very funny in a very understated way.
A film about kindness, dignity, and starting again from nothing.
IMDb: 7.6/10 – Runtime: 1h 37m.
🍽️ Post Meetup Food at China Zentrum Stiegengasse! 😁😁
If you just joined, please fill up this survey so we can better tailor the films we show. [https://forms.gle/juPwhehSV2NosLee9](https://forms.gle/juPwhehSV2NosLee9)
PS - I can guarantee comfortable seating for 15 people. People in the waitlist can show up as well, because a lot of people sign up but don't show up.
The event takes place at the Social Welfare organization called **MUT**. It is an organisation that works on social issues such as Emergency & Homeless Assistance, Food Rescue and Environment Protection. MUT is a non profit organization that provides us with the space to host the event. A small donation towards their cause helps them a lot.

Ask your Guru: "How to be happy?"
"Ask your Guru" is a colloquial discussion event in English held in a small group (about 5-10 people) in a cosy place. One participant takes on the role of the "guru" - someone who prepares to share a specific view of the world which helped them gain a stronger sense of mastery over or fulfilment in life. The other participants listen to the guru and contribute their own views and ask questions, leading to a lively, deep exchange.
You don't have to contribute to the discussion; it is also fine to remain silent and just listen, however you prefer it. Our event will take place in a restaurant where you can order a drink or have dinner. The event is scheduled for two hours. After the first hour there will be a ten minutes break.
Every participant is welcome to join our "Ask your Guru" WhatsApp group afterwards.
Comedy Factory – English Open Mic @TheComedyPub
**Comedy Factory: Vienna’s wild & international English Open Mic. Fresh jokes, new comedians & free entry every Saturday.**
## [GET YOUR TICKETS HERE!!!](https://www.universe.com/events/comedy-factory-english-open-mic-thecomedypub-tickets-46HDTR?ref=MeetUp)
🔥 Saturday nights start with laughter! Welcome to **Comedy Factory**, Vienna’s most international and experimental English Stand-up Comedy Open Mic. Every Saturday at 18:30, The Comedy Pub transforms into a comedy playground where fresh jokes are built, tested, and unleashed.
## Event Description:
At **Comedy Factory**, anything can happen. New comedians step on stage for the very first time, while experienced performers bring their sharpest jokes and wildest new ideas. The result? A raw, unpredictable, and unforgettable night of comedy.
With **10–12 comedians each week**, you’ll see a mix of bold experiments, risky punchlines, and polished sets. No two shows are ever the same – every Saturday offers a brand-new lineup of voices from Vienna’s thriving international comedy scene.
This show is perfect if you’re:
* an **Expat or international living in Vienna** looking for English comedy
* a **local curious about stand-up culture** from around the world
* a **tourist wanting a unique night out** in Vienna
* or simply someone who loves to laugh at fresh, unfiltered comedy.
## 🤔 What is an Open Mic?
An Open Mic is where comedy is born. Comedians test their newest material, experiment with wild ideas, and interact with the audience in real time. Sometimes the jokes kill, sometimes they bomb – but that’s exactly the fun. As an audience member, you get to witness comedy in its rawest form, up close and personal.
## 🍻 The Comedy Pub – Vienna’s Home of Stand-up
The show takes place in **The Comedy Pub** (Kettenbrückengasse 7, 1050 Vienna). Unlike our underground cellar shows, **Comedy Factory happens upstairs in the main pub area** – bright, welcoming, international, and buzzing with energy.
Grab a drink, settle in, and enjoy the only dedicated stand-up comedy club in Vienna. Centrally located right by **U4 Kettenbrückengasse station**, it’s the perfect meeting point before heading out into your Saturday night.
## 💡 Free Entry – Donations Welcome
Comedy should be for everyone. That’s why entry is free! But if you had a great time (and you will 😉), we invite you to drop a donation in the bucket at the end of the show. It’s the best way to support the comedians who made you laugh.
## 🎟️ Audience Rules
To keep the show fun and fair for everyone, we ask for a few simple things:
* Be on time – comedy waits for no one.
* Respect the stage – no talking during sets.
* Laugh loud, clap hard – comedians feed off your energy.
* No heckling – it never ends well.
* Show love with a donation if you laughed.
## 🎉 Why Saturday?
Because weekends deserve a big laugh. **Comedy Factory** is the perfect early-evening start to your Saturday – international, experimental, and guaranteed to surprise you. With a new lineup every week, it’s always fresh, always different, always funny.
Start your night with us, then take the laughter out into Vienna.

Shut Up & Write!® - Sundays at Café Pierre
Come write with us at Cafe Pierre every Sunday at 18:00-20:00!
A message from Shut Up & Write: "Shut Up & Write hosts free, in-person and online writing events for writers all over the world. Our goal is to ensure that every writer—regardless of genre or skill level—has access to the resources, community, and accountability that they need to be successful in their personal writing goals."
And what this looks like at our event: We chat and give short introductions to what we are working on at 18:00, then start writing at 18:15. Though we try to start on dot, being late isn't a problem—just find a spot and get to work! We write until 20:00 and then discuss how our writing went. From fiction to non-fiction, academic papers to poetry, applications to work-related writing—anything goes! Nothing is needed except for you to bring whatever is need to get stuff done, i.e. laptop, headphones, pen and paper, and so on.
Optional socialising may happen before 18:00 and after 20:00, or you may choose to use this time to get some more done! Please do order something from the café (drink, meal, dessert, etc.) so as to keep us in their good graces!
Sunday Screenings in the Living Room
Weekly screenings from a large archive of many of the most significant, yet seldom seen and rarely accessible cinematic masterpieces in the history of film - from its earliest beginnings to the present day. Screenings are in original language, if English, or original language with English subtitles.
Films are selected democratically on the inspiration of a brief pre-screening discussion. The selected title is typically a "neglected gem" that most of us discover together for the first time. Individual taste is not a criterion and all participants are expected to put the interests of the group as a whole above personal preference or prejudice. In this sense, the emphasis is on openness, exploration, and surprise. Each screening is followed by an in-depth group discussion, led and moderated by the curator.
WARNNG: FilmStory is not just about watching movies! Rather, it's a socially responsible, intellectual engagement, involving an organic approach to group study of film language, philosophy, art, history, politics, and technology. In this sense, the film is always merely the current highlight in an explorative, ongoing group discussion.
**FilmStory** is a members-only series that involves a closely knit community of cinephiles. Events take place every Sunday in a comfortable, private setting with limited capacity. Participation is reserved primarily for regular members, but we're always ready to make new friends!
Non-regular members may request to meet the community and, upon acceptance as a "new joiner," are welcome to participate in one event, according to space availability. New joiners are asked to make a €6 member dues contribution in advance of the requested date. New members receive a message of confirmation and the address of the Living Room in 1080 Vienna upon receipt of their dues contribution.
**FilmStory** is presented and hosted by **[KulturSalon Wien](https://www.meetup.com/kultursalon-wien/)**.

Wirklich sehen, hören, fühlen – Wie geschärfte Wahrnehmung Nähe ermöglicht
### **,,Wirklich sehen, hören, fühlen – Wie geschärfte Wahrnehmung Nähe ermöglicht''**
**Workshop für Sinne, Selbsterkenntnis & Beziehungstiefe**
***
* Achtsame Selbstwahrnehmung & ehrlicher Austausch in Kleingruppen
***
***
📍**Ort:** jeden Sonntag
🕖 **Zeit:** 11:00-14:30
☕ **Mit Sinnesimpulsen wie Kaffee & Duftübungen** Kaffee & kleine Snacks inklusive!
💶 **Beitrag:** 25€

Shut Up & Write!™ Easton Town Center
We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator.
Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking!
• What we'll do
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros.
10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you!
• What to bring
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.
See you at The Café on Saturday!
Columbus Code & Coffee 85 @ Improving
Columbus Code & Coffee is an inclusive, informal co-working session. People of all skill levels attend, and we love it that way. Many people (optionally) bring projects to work on, and many other people (optionally) socialize the entire time. It's entirely up to you!
**What to Expect at the Intro Circle**
\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~
Near the beginning of the event (1:30 pm), we do a standup:
* Organizer announcements, updates, and logistics
Round 1 - (7 secs max):
* Your name
* What you're working on
* What you can help others with
Round 2:
* Community events you wanna plug. If none, that's cool too.
Round 3:
* Job opportunities you're hiring for OR announce that you are looking for one. If none, that's cool.
After the introduction circle, everything is self-organized! Feel free to work alone, pair up, attend one of our workshops/presentations, or mingle!
Queer Quills
**We are expanding our creative programming opportunities with Queer Quills, a quiet writing and sharing space. Queer Quills features some prompts, supplies and friendly faces to help get some inspiration or feedback for your writing. Hope to see you there!**

Come prepared to discuss this month's book. At the end of each book club meeting, we will take next book and venue suggestions from the participants for the next meeting.
Whether you are a book lover, women entrepreneur, or a content creator, this event is perfect for sharing ideas and insights with other funders and founders in the entrepreneurial world. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together. Sign up now to reserve your spot!
*Fun fact! This meetup was established in 2015 and had over 1,000 members. I had to shut down operations while attending law school, but we're back!!*
Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!
