**Are you someone who hasn't painted for a long time and you'd like to try it out once again?** We are an international group of people who come together every Thursday evening after a long workday to learn painting and spend quality time together with drinks and snacks. **It doesn't matter why or what you want to make here. You are welcome!** Everyone works on different paintings. Your art lesson will be personalised to your level. Most of us are beginners with also people more experienced in mixed age group above 16 years old. Our teacher Secil will guide you at every step of your painting. There are many art lessons consisting of paintings of famous artists and artworks also different subjects from landscapes to portraiture, still life etc. You can consult with the teacher about what to paint or paint from the pictures you select. Maki-e is a traditional Japanese lacquer decoration technique. Techiniques are involved drawing pictures, patterns, and letters on the surface of lacquerware using lacquer, and then sprinkling and fixing metal powder, such as gold or silver, onto the surface. In our workshop, you have the opportunity to create maki-e designs using traditional Japanese patterns (wagara) or your own original designs. We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily.
