Join us for a night of painting miniatures from Warhammer 40k, Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), Star Wars Legion, and other tabletop games. Miniature hobbyists of all skill levels are welcome! 🐣**New to mini painting?** I’m happy to teach the basics, and you can use my materials, including a free mini if you're a first-timer. 🎨**Already have a project?** Bring it (or start a new one)! Learn to sew a sweet cloth doll using the Sewing Smiles Doll pattern. This class is suitable for confident beginning sewists — students will receive tips on scrap piecing, embroidering faces, hair techniques, and creating a smooth, stuffed surface for their doll. Kira Wharton will share her decades of toy-making experience to help students create a one-of-a-kind doll, including sharing from her stash of colorful scrap fabrics for piecing the body; scrap yarn, ribbon, etc., for the hair; embroidery floss for the face, polyfil stuffing and a stuffing tool. \*\*\* Due to the size or other requirements of the class or concurrent scheduling, some classes are in our second-floor space: access is via stairs only. If you mountain bike regularly then this ride is for you. This is a No-Drop ride. Wheels rolling at 3pm unless someone sends a message and say they're running a little late. Depending on the endurance and skill level of riders, this ride will be around 10-12 miles. The pace I aim to keep is no more than 7-8mph with rest stops as needed. We will wait for every rider at the trail crossings. About Fairland: 95% non-technical ride with few major climbs and no mandatory obstacles (they all have ride-arounds). Promise, no rocks. None! Anyway, there are a couple good places to stop and practice log-overs, and balance on the boardwalks, and some good flow trails. Capoeira (capo-way-ra) is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that is unlike any other martial art. Capoeira incorporates flowing movements with kicks, dodges, and some acrobatics. It is often mistaken for a dance for those reasons. Since it’s origins in the 17th century, it has evolved from a secret fighting practice into an art emphasizing self-expression and community celebration. It is great for the body and mind! In addition to gaining strength and flexibility in class, students learn about Brazilian culture, history, and language (Portuguese). On November 26, 2014 capoeira was granted a special protected status as "intangible cultural heritage” by UNESCO. Art in the Park: DIY Garden Mosaic Stepping Stone Saturday, May 30, 2026 In this fun hands-on workshop, let your creativity flow as you design and craft your own mosaic stepping stone, perfect for adding a personal touch to your outdoor space! You will use concrete, colorful tiles, and your imagination to create a unique piece of garden art. No experience needed! We will provide the concrete, molds, tiles, and some inspiration patterns. If you have any ceramic pieces, glass, or stones of your own that you would like to add to your mosaic, feel free to bring them, but we will also have plenty on hand.
