Cybersecurity Hot Topics 🔥 + Networking: OpenClaw, Offensive AI, and more!
After the success of our Lightning Talks, we are switching gears! This month, Barcelona CyberSec moves to a **Cybersecurity Hot Topics & Networking** session. No slides, no lectures—just drinks, food, and an open debate on the most controversial security trends of 2026.
**📍 Venue Update:** We’ll be at **BCN Icon**, but this time we are moving to the **back of the main floor** (much more comfortable for chatting).
**⚠️ Important:** To support the venue, there is a **€7 minimum consumption** (first drink—wine, beer, soft drinks, etc.) to cover costs
We will be discussing four specific topics. Come ready to share your opinion:
**1\. The "OpenClaw" Risk: Shadow AI & Excessive Permissions** A deep dive into the security nightmare of local AI agents like **OpenClaw**. What happens when users grant "sudo" privileges to autonomous bots? We discuss the risks of unmonitored file access, data exfiltration, and why "Shadow AI" is becoming the new Shadow IT.
**2\. The "Moltbook" Phenomenon** It sounds like a joke, but it’s a threat vector. We analyze "Moltbook"—the social network where agents communicate, share API keys, and complain about humans without our supervision. Is this the beginning of an automated Command & Control (C2) infrastructure?
**3\. Offensive AI Agents** Forget writing scripts—attackers are now using autonomous agents to scan, exploit, and pivot through networks automatically. We explore the new era of "Agent-based" offensive security and how to defend against it.
**4\. Spain vs\. X & The Digital ID Crackdown** Spain’s government is pushing hard to regulate X, proposing bans on under-16 access and holding executives liable. With PM Sánchez calling social media a "failed state" and officials citing Grok’s explicit content as a danger to minors, we debate: Is this necessary child protection, or a new era of state censorship?
**How it works:** We introduce the topic, you grab a drink, and we debate. Whether you are a Red Teamer, Blue Teamer, or CISO, we want your take.
**RSVP now to save your spot!**

Pura Vida y Filosofia
Pura Vida! 🌿😊

**🎤 Talks & Speakers**
* **Title: Beyond Docker Builds: Declarative, Reproducible and Secure OCI Containers with Nix**
* **Speaker**: [Arik Grahl](https://www.linkedin.com/in/arikgrahl/) - *Senior Software Engineer at [SysEleven GmbH](https://www.syseleven.de)*
* **Duration**: 30-45 mins
* **Abstract**: The Open Container Initiative (OCI) standardized the foundation of cloud-native infrastructure. However, most build systems lack determinism due to network access during builds, leading to non-reproducible artifacts and complicating software supply chain security (SSCS). While OCI supports layering for storage and cache efficiency, reflecting shared dependencies across artifacts remains complex.
Nix, as a package manager, enables declarative and reproducible builds in hermetic, network-isolated sandboxes, requiring all dependencies to be specified up front for long-term reproducibility. Dependencies are treated as first-class citizens, making it easy to generate accurate Software Bill of Materials. With dockerTools in the Nix standard library, these benefits reach the OCI ecosystem. This talk highlights the advantages of fully declarative, reproducible OCI builds with Nix, offering deep insights and benefits to SSCS.
Let’s not just build containers, let’s declare them reproducibly!
* **About**: Arik Grahl is a Senior Software Engineer living between Berlin and Barcelona having more than 13 years of experience in full-stack development and operation of infrastructure on bare metal.
At the moment he mainly develops Golang applications close to Kubernetes and the broader cloud native ecosystem.
Furthermore, he is excited about everything evolving around Nix(OS) and enjoy contributing to Nixpkgs.

* **Title: How to operate and scale 72 Kubernetes clusters in 12 regions worldwide**
* **Speaker**: [Josef Rosel](https://www.linkedin.com/in/josef-christoph-rosel/) - *Senior Cloud Engineer at [Dynatrace](https://www.dynatrace.com)*
* **Duration**: 30-45 mins
* **Abstract**: Managing global infrastructure across multiple cloud providers is complex, requiring robust architecture and automation. This session explores proven strategies and tools (OpenTofu, ArgoCD, ArgoWF, Helm, Renovate) for operating large-scale multi-cloud environments, including Kubernetes orchestration, GitOps-driven workflows, and automated dependency management.
* **About**: Josef Rosel is in DevOps for over a decade, originally from Austria and in Barcelona for two years. Started out with Docker, Mesos, Ansible in a private OpenStack, went over to Azure Devops and RKE to end up in Dynatrace working on both internal, build, test and product clusters.

Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
*Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation*
Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, we’ll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifacts—living documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification.
You’ll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. We’ll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, we’ll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written.
This talk will cover:
--What spec-driven development is (and what it isn’t)
--How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows
--Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development
--Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence
Whether you’re building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects.

**TALK ABSTRACT:**
AI is all the hype these days; however, despite (or maybe because of) the excitement around it, a high percentage of AI projects fail. Projects that are over budget, delayed, or that fail to scale past the POC phase are very common. In many of these scenarios, choosing the right approach can be as critical as the solution itself. Should you build a tailored machine learning model, leverage the power of large language models (LLMs), or integrate with AI copilots? Each option has unique strengths, trade-offs, and resource requirements, and the key to success lies in aligning your choice with your business goals and technical constraints.
In this talk, we will go beyond the basic concepts and definitions to provide a practical guide that allows attendees to navigate these decisions through real-world case studies. We will examine scenarios in which different AI paradigms were chosen, discuss the factors that influenced those decisions, and outline the process for evaluating needs, constraints, and outcomes. From assessing data availability and team expertise to balancing cost and scalability, you'll gain insights into the critical considerations that guide the selection process.
By the end of this session, you’ll have a clear process for determining whether machine learning, LLMs, or copilots are best suited to your AI challenges and understand the resources and strategies needed to bring your chosen solution to life. This talk is ideal for decision-makers, technical leads, and innovators seeking to demystify AI implementation and maximize the impact of their investments.
