**Presentation**
**Topic: AI for Software Developers**
AI is rapidly changing how software is built, but many developers are still unclear on how to move from using AI tools to actually building AI-powered applications and agents.
This talk breaks down the key concepts every developer needs to understand, including large language models, tokens, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI agents.
The session will be delivered by three speakers from the Women Developers Singapore (WDS) community. The talk will be structured as a cohesive walkthrough: from how AI models understand language, to how they access data, and finally how developers can build production-ready AI applications and agents.
**About the Speakers:**
**Saloni**
Saloni is a Senior Software Developer. As a Co-Director of WomenDevsSG (WDS), she plays a pivotal role in organizing events and initiatives that support women in tech. She is also the cohost of ragTech, a tech podcast aiming to breakdown tech for all. She believes Teaching is the best way to learn.
**Manaswini**
Manaswini is a Senior Backend Engineer passionate about tackling challenging problems in this space. She loves empowering women through technology and volunteers in different communities to support this mission. She is also drawn to the start-up space, where she gets to combine her love for building systems with creating real-world impact.
**Gitansha**
Gitansha Aggarwal is an AI and Digital Solutions Developer focused on building impactful solutions and exploring real-world applications of AI. She is an active member of WomenDevsSG (WDS), supporting initiatives that empower women in tech.

**Career Q&A**
Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes once you hit "Pay Now"? Two engineers from PayPal, Heman and Reuben, will be hosting a career Q&A. It’s a chance to hear what it’s actually like to build and ship code that powers global payments at an eye-watering scale.
**About the Speakers:**
**Heman**
Heman is a Senior Software Engineer at PayPal Singapore, working on global payments infrastructure, including merchant onboarding, checkout systems, and multi-country expansion serving global markets.
Before PayPal, he built systems across health tech, SaaS, and HR tech, as a Senior Developer at Synapxe, at Teamspirit, a Japan-based SaaS company, and at ManpowerGroup developing in-house HR systems.
He has been actively applying AI to accelerate his engineering workflow, building his own code intelligence platform and AI-powered workflow orchestration tools. His hands-on experience integrating AI into day-to-day development gives him a practical perspective on what works, and how engineers can leverage these tools effectively.
**Reuben**
Reuben is a Software Engineer at PayPal, where he works on AI-driven systems for code generation and testing automation. Previously at Ascenda, he built core loyalty infrastructure connecting banks to loyalty programs across the full stack, from backend services to frontend interfaces to scaling. Passionate about giving back, Reuben actively mentors fresh graduates and students looking to break into the tech industry.

Claude Code for Software Developers: Beyond the Basics
Join us for an **advanced, hands-on session** focused on mastering best practices for development with Claude Code.
We'll go beyond the basics to cover *planning, testing, and implementation, including deep dives into custom skills, subagents, hooks, context management, and maximising parallelisation using worktrees*.
It's a walk-through of powerful agentic coding techniques on a live project, not slides about them.
**What we'll cover**
\- Claude Code configs\, plugins\, MCP\, and CLAUDE\.md
\- The plan to review to implement workflow and why planning first prevents AI slop
\- Power\-user territory: custom skills\, subagents\, and hooks\, and how to know when to reach for each
\- Context management and progressive disclosure
\- Worktrees: running multiple agents in parallel and trusting the output
**Speakers**
Aritejh — Senior Software Engineer working on agentic applications in the FinTech industry. He's used Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and GitHub Copilot to ship agentic systems in production.
Manaswini — Senior Backend Engineer passionate about tackling the hardest problems in this space. She's drawn to the start-up world and volunteers across communities to support women in tech.

**Who is this for?**
Software developers already using Claude Code (or another agentic coding tool) who want to push their workflow further. Whether you live and breathe these tools or you're using them sometimes and want to level up, this one's for you!
**What to bring**
\- Your laptop with Claude Code installed beforehand\. This is hands\-on\, and we'd rather spend the time on techniques than on setup
\- Your current workflow questions as there will be Q&A throughout

Building Scalable Customer Identity Resolution Pipelines on AWS Using AI
Customer identity resolution becomes increasingly complex as organizations scale across multiple systems, regions, and data formats. Traditional rule-based approaches often fail to keep up with data variability, require constant manual tuning, and struggle with real-time processing needs.
This session presents a practical approach to building a scalable identity resolution pipeline using AWS services and modern AI techniques. The architecture combines data ingestion through Amazon S3 and AWS Glue, transformation pipelines using Spark on EMR, and machine learning models deployed via SageMaker for entity matching and standardization. Graph-based relationship modeling is implemented using Amazon Neptune to improve resolution accuracy by incorporating household and shared attribute context.
We will walk through how machine learning models can be used for name and address normalization, how intelligent blocking strategies improve matching efficiency, and how feedback loops can be introduced to continuously improve accuracy. The session also highlights how serverless components such as AWS Lambda can be used for orchestration and real-time processing.
