**Details:** Beginner/Intermediate level social tennis session. Run by the Albert Park Tennis and Hockey Centre Cost: $22 per person (EFT payment) for 2 hours of tennis. Free for members. Please check into the hut prior to joining a court. This session is designed for all levels of players, for the opportunity to meet other players, improve their tennis skills, and have enjoy some friendly, competitive tennis matches. This is the perfect time to test your in-game skills without having to enter a proper competition. Tennis balls are provided. Please try and bring your own racquet if possible. **Rules:** * Team up with another player to form a doubles team. Doubles only games. * 2 teams (a group of 4 players), play a **best of 8 games**. * Each person serves twice * Deuce = one point only, ie. Sudden death point. * The receivers can choose which player on their team receives. * If the score is 4-4, both teams play a singular 'golden point' to determine the winner.. **Rotation:** * Winners remain on the same court. Please join us this Sunday as we discuss Masculinity in the 21st century. This session will be hosted by Jefferson. **We will meet at the Queensberry Hotel, 593 Swanston Street, Carlton (100m north of Melbourne Central) at 2pm for a 2:15pm start sharp.** **We kindly ask attendees to pay $5 to attend to help with MeetUp costs & venue costs. This is not mandatory, but if you are a regular member it would be appreciated. Any extra moneys will go towards buying food and drinks for the table. The venue also expects us to spend money as a group, so please buy at least one drink or meal from the bar.** There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary for this session, nor a philosophical background, all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo, in the spirit of learning and friendly debate, so please feel free to challenge others' assumptions and be prepared to have your own assumptions challenged. Find below some questions to consider, however note these are free-ranging events and the below serve merely as a springboard for the discussion: * What is the Manosphere, and what is Masculinity (both healthy and toxic)? * Are traditional masculine traits healthy for individuals and societies? * Does modern society reward or punish traditionally masculine traits? * What virtues, behaviours, etc. should be prioritized in raising boys? * Are modern educational systems, communities and the economy well-suited to boys’ developmental tendencies? * Is the idea of “healthy masculinity” necessary, or should we move beyond gendered virtue frameworks entirely? * Should boys be raised differently from girls, or should parenting be largely gender-neutral? * What do we make of cultural figures such as Jordan Peterson, Andrew Tate, Stefan Molyneux, and so on? * Does the concept of toxic masculinity unfairly target men as a class? * Does the concept of toxic masculinity itself produce harm by pathologizing male identity? * Is there an equivalent concept for femininity, and should there be? * Is the idea of a “war on men” descriptively accurate, or primarily rhetorical? * Is the perception of a “war on men” driven more by material conditions or cultural narratives? * Are men uniquely disadvantaged in certain domains, and does that constitute injustice? * Is the manosphere a reaction to real socio-economic change or just another identity narrative of victimhood? Every second Saturday evening (except March, June, Nov) and fourth Sunday evening (except Dec) of each month in 2026, often with live music. Contra dance has some similarities to bush dance and square dance. It is very popular in the USA, Canada and London. The dances consist of interesting patterns, walked to upbeat music. We meet to learn and practice American Sign Language and to grow our familiarity with Deaf culture. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able! Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for! We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!
