Te invitamos a moverte, conectar y probar algo nuevo. Explora el ritmo, el movimiento y el diálogo en un jogo entre camaradas. La capoeira angola es una práctica afrobrasileña que une movimiento, música y diálogo corporal entre compañeros. Es una forma dinámica y creativa de moverse, conectar con otras personas y explorar el ritmo desde el cuerpo. En esta sesión probaremos movimientos básicos y cómo se combinan en el jogo entre dos personas. También descubriremos su musicalidad, primero con percusión corporal y luego con instrumentos tradicionales como el berimbau, el pandero, el agogô y el reco-reco. No se necesita experiencia previa. La actividad está abierta a personas de todas las edades, géneros y niveles de condición física. Ven con ropa y zapatillas cómodas, agua y ganas de probar algo nuevo. **ESP** *Creemos firmemente que para ser eficientes y saludables en el manejo de la actual crisis ambiental y social, necesitamos equiparnos con herramientas y conocimientos que nos ayuden a empoderarnos y cultivar nuestra "esperanza activa". Migue de la Rosa y Yaíma Orozco desde Cuba, en BARCELONA Migue y Yaíma son cantautores cubanos con carreras y obras independientes que a dúo versionan canciones no conocidas del repertorio de la canción popular cubana. Abordan géneros de su tierra como el son, el bolero, la habanera y otros ritmos latinoamericanos y del mundo, tocados a guitarra y percusión menor. Crean, se complementan y defienden desde lo individual a lo conjunto, con desenfado y frescura, obras que cobran una nueva vida siendo cantadas siempre a dúo con voces claras y profundas. Let's grab some coffee/food and share a morning chat! The East Market has an ample parking lot and outdoor and indoor seating. Grab a cup of coffee from Winston's Coffee & Waffles or on your way to East Market and meet us on the second floor - table behind or east of the elevator. If the weather cooperates we will be meeting in the patio. Per what this group is about: "Everyone is welcome! International transplants to Columbus who want to improve language skills, Columbus residents who want to discuss international travel and culture, and anyone who enjoys getting together for good conversations."

Inspired by our successful events like "Saturday Mornings @ East Market" and other "Pot Luck in the Park" lunches, this gathering promises to be a blend of fun conversations, language exchange, and cultural insights, all while sharing wonderful foods with each other. Please bring a dish to share and anything you would like to drink. We will provide plates, plastic silverware and napkins. So, come hungry and ready to chat!

While some are still meeting online, this is an in person event. Please note that we have attendees of all levels of speaking, including some native speakers. All are welcome! Also, as we meet at the same time and place each week, many don’t RSVP on the app, so we will likely have more attendees than noted here. Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
