Touch and Move: Kontakt improvisieren, Community schaffen
**Touch and Move: Improvising Contact, creating Community**
with ***Jochen Kleres and/or Zahiro Ji***
for **GBTQ men\***
**[BOOK A TICKET!](https://wearevillage.org/shop/touch-and-move/w18-2026)**
**Member: 10 €**
**Non Member: 15 €**
This is a class for GBTQ men\* with all levels of experience, from total newbies to advanced.
We meet and begin by checking in with each other, followed by a guided exploration moving from somatic practice to contact dance improvisation. This all culminates in opening the space for the free flow of dancing and explorations in duos, trios and as a group. Bodywork will help us to warm down at the end and integrate what we experienced.
Dance is our way to create a space for exploration: what happens when queer men’s bodies meet and get in touch without any expectations and intentions?
In Contact Improvisation, touch is the source of finding dance movements. It helps you to be open to the here and now, to surprises, to letting go of performing roles, meeting expectations, and following scripts.
Any movement can be part of this dance, no matter how simple – we literally move any way we feel. This creates a conversation without words, simply through our moving bodies. Feeling ourselves by sensing others can create nourishing bonds of community as much as it liberates us. We emphasise consensus, respect, diversity of people and energies, listening, and a non-judgmental space.
**General Information**
• Wear comfortable clothes.
• We’ll speak English and/or German, depending on the needs of the group.
• This event is one of two free events included each month in the membership programme.

PPT Karaoke: Presentation Roulette
Attention to all lovers of randomness and awkward moments!
Come hang out with us for a night that’s a little silly, a little chaotic, but a lot of fun.
PPT Karaoke is simple: you present a deck of random slides you’ve never seen before. You’ll be figuring it out as you go—and that’s exactly the point. No prep, no pressure, and definitely no boring quarterly charts.
It’s a great way to try something new, laugh at yourself a bit, and maybe get a little more comfortable speaking in front of people.
You can present… or not.
Sign up if you’re feeling brave, or just grab a drink and enjoy the chaos from the audience.
What it is like
People making things up on the spot
Moments that are unexpectedly funny (or weirdly brilliant)
A relaxed, supportive crowd that’s laughing with you
How it works
Put your name down if you want to present
Get a completely random slide deck
Go for it—funny, serious, or totally nonsensical
Why You Should Come
Try something new without pressure
Laugh a lot (at yourself and with others)
Take a break from taking things too seriously
Meet nice, low-key people who also have no idea what’s on Slide 4.
Experience Level: None. Really. If you can point at a screen and say words, you’re overqualified.
The vibe
Warm, welcoming, and zero judgment. We’re all just figuring it out together.
If this sounds like your kind of fun, come join us 🙂
Spots are limited—RSVP to save yours!
Monday Men – live circle
**Live men's circle**
**April to June 2026, twice a month**
Hello all,
This new group is off to a solid start!
On April 13 six men kicked things off in Pangea Haus with a very warm and attentive session.
Two thirds of the group attended their first live men's circle ever, which was really encouraging!
The group have decided they'd like to keep the door open for newcomers until the next session, and so we still have **space for two more men** to join us... read on if you're curious:
After a long stretch without a space for regular, in-person circles, we're finally offering a **live men's circle in Berlin** again, the **Monday Men**.
From April through June we're meeting every two weeks, for two hours on a Monday evening. It's a closed group, with a maximum of eight participants, to encourage familiarity, trust and continuity.
The next dates are: **April 27**, **May 11** & **25**, **June 8** & **22**
There's a cost involved, which has been kept as low as possible, and it's only for the use of the room we'll have. A total **40 €** from each man covers **all** **sessions** for all **three months**. You can attend as many sessions as you like.
After the first three months, the group can choose what comes next. There could be a summer break, or the group may decide to continue.
**This could be useful for you if you'd like to...**
* Connect in person with other men in Berlin
* Build real-life bonds, especially if you’re new to the city or to the Berlin Men’s Group
* Explore ideas and challenges that matter to you
* Look more closely at your experiences and how you express them
* Experience a low-pressure introduction to men’s work
**What we'll do...**
For those who already know the online men’s circles, some parts of this format may feel familiar.
As in the online format, the sessions always include:
* **Welcome** – greeting and orientation from the host
* **Opening round** – describing briefly what things are like for you
* **Sharing round** – expanding on your thoughts, speaking freely
* **Deepening round** – a chance to offer each other questions
* **Open discussion** – explore what emerges together
* **Closing round** – share what you take away from the session
In addition, the live format allows for a few extra elements:
* **Partnered conversation**
* **A topic of the week**, chosen by the group
* **A little movement**, such as stretching or short breaks to move around and reset attention
As always - no prior experience neccessary, no preparation needed. Just walk in and grab a seat.
**About me, the host...**
I’m Hans. I've been co-organising the Berlin Men's Group with Peter and the others for five years now. In that time I've become a certified systemic counsellor, specialised in supporting men.
For these circles my style will be practical and down-to-earth. I help hold the structure, keep things on track, and support the group so that each man can explore what matters to him in his own way.
I'll be aiming for a space where men can speak honestly, listen to each other, and look at important things without it feeling heavy or complicated.
If you’re curious but not sure if this feels right for you at the moment, you’re welcome to send me a message here on Meetup or email request@zigmal.org. You can ask me anything you like.
*This group is being logistically supported by BMG partner project [Zigmal e.V.](www.zigmal.org), a volunteer association that focuses on strengthening men through social connection and free counselling.*

Tackling Imperfect Data Environments via Robust and Explainable AI
**Join us for our next Machine Learning in Healthcare meetup in Berlin — proudly sponsored by the QUEST Centre!**
Pizza is still back!
Yes, we fought for it in 2025, and we continue to do so in 2026. Come hungry.
We are very happy to announce our speaker **Prof. Grégoire Montavon**, who is a Professor at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin at the Institute of AI in medicine (IKIM) and a Research Group Lead in the Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD). He received a Master's degree in Communication Systems from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2009 and a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the Technische Universität Berlin in 2013.
His research focuses on methods and applications of Explainable AI (XAI). A particular goal is to develop approaches that integrate well with state-of-the-art machine learning (ML) models used in medical diagnosis and research, so that these models can be verified and explored for insights.
**His talk´s title is:**
**Tackling Imperfect Data Environments via Robust and Explainable AI**
**Abstract:** In this talk, I will present novel techniques for learning in imperfect data environments, specifically addressing challenges such as mislabeling and spurious correlations. Central to these new approaches is the design of new loss functions and Explainable AI techniques that can isolate artifact-inducing components during or after training, allowing them to be systematically removed from the final model.

Duty vs. Results: What Makes an Action Moral?
When judging morality, should we prioritize **intentions/duty** or **outcomes/results**? It introduces two influential philosophers as representatives of these approaches.
* **Immanuel Kant (deontology):** An action is moral when it is done from **duty** and follows rational, universal principles (the **categorical imperative**). Certain acts—like lying—are wrong regardless of the consequences; you can’t do a wrong thing for a right reason.
* **John Stuart Mill (utilitarian consequentialism):** The morality of an action is determined by its **effects**, specifically how much **happiness/well-being** it produces. Mill argues that some pleasures are “higher” than others, and that good intentions don’t redeem harmful outcomes.
## Discussion Questions
1. **The lying dilemma:** A murderer comes to your door and asks if your friend is hiding inside. Kant would say you must not lie.
2. **Can good intentions rescue a bad outcome?**
3. **The organ harvest problem:** A surgeon has five patients dying of organ failure and one healthy patient in for a checkup. Killing the one to harvest organs would save five lives, and the math works out for the utilitarian. Why does this feel so deeply wrong? Is that feeling a point in Kant's favor, or just a bias we should overcome?
4. **Do rules need exceptions?** Kant insists moral rules must be universal, with no exceptions. But most of us can imagine extreme scenarios where any rule seems like it should bend. Does the need for exceptions fatally undermine deontology, or is the strength of the system precisely that it refuses to bend?
5. **Who gets to calculate the consequences?** Utilitarianism asks us to maximize good outcomes, but we're notoriously bad at predicting consequences. If we can't reliably know the results of our actions, is it practical to base our entire moral system on outcomes? Does this uncertainty push us back toward rules and principles?
6. **Everyday morality:** Think about a real moral decision you've made recently, even a small one. Did you reason more like a Kantian (what's the right thing to do in principle?) or more like a utilitarian (what will produce the best result?)? Do most people naturally lean one way?
7. **Justice vs. the greater good:** A town can prevent a deadly plague by sacrificing one innocent person. The greater good is clearly served. But is it just? Can an action be morally right and deeply unjust at the same time?
8. **The big synthesis question:** Are these two systems actually opposed, or do they often arrive at the same answers by different paths? Is it possible that we need both: rules to guide us in the moment and consequences to evaluate systems and policies over time?

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
Unknown Number: The High School Catfish
A very unusual choice for his group... Unknown Number: High School Catfish is an American [true crime](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/True_crime "True crime") documentary film directed by [Skye Borgman](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skye_Borgman "Skye Borgman") and released to [streaming](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming_media "Streaming media") on [Netflix](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netflix "Netflix") on August 29, 2025.
The documentary explores the events and investigation into an unknown person [cyberbully](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberbullying "Cyberbullying") and [harassing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harassment "Harassment") teenagers in [Beal City, Michigan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beal_City,_Michigan "Beal City, Michigan") using an unknown number via insults and sexual claims. It also explores the increasingly great impact of the harassment on the community, the eventual reveal of the culprit, and the trial that followed.
IMPORTANT INFO: I strongly suggest not reading anything about it online before seeing it. It's best viewed with no previous knowledge. This documentary contains crude terminology and deals with cyberbullying, which may be a trigger for some folks.
PLEASE NOTE - WE ARE STARTING AT 6:30, WHICH IS THIRTY MINUTES EARLIER THAN USUAL.
Unfortunately, it is only available on Netflix. If you would like to attend but do not have Netflix, say so and maybe we can figure something out.
