Improv for Life Weekend workshop 2 Polarities, Stories & Meaning
Improv for Life Weekend workshop
Improv for your personal development. Playful. Powerful. Transformative.
What if real life could feel more like improv—full of joy, connection, creativity, and flow?
Improv for Life is a one-of-a-kind course that blends the magic of improvisation with personal development. It’s not about being funny or performing on stage (though that might happen too!)—it’s about learning to navigate life with more presence, courage, and flexibility.
In this course, you’ll uncover the hidden wisdom in improv games and exercises, and apply it to real-life challenges in a way that’s light, energizing, and deeply impactful.
You’ll practice life-changing skills like:
Being fully present
Listening deeply
Relating authentically
Acting with courage
Finding meaning in the moment
And explore rich, human themes.
Whether you’re a professional, a creative, or a curious human navigating change, Improv for Life offers a safe, playful space to shift stuck patterns, unlock your creativity, and reconnect with what makes you feel truly alive.
Course Structure:
Four full days, split into **two independent weekend workshops** — join one or both!
**If you are new to improv it is recommended that you do Workshop 1 before you do Workshop 2.**
#### **Workshop 1: Play, Presence & Relationships (31 Jan – 1 Feb)**
**Saturday: Homo Ludens** – the playful human that learns through curiosity, exploration, and failure.
Sunday: Homo Relationalis – the human whose identity emerges through relationship.
#### **Workshop 2: Polarities, Stories & Meaning (28 Feb – 1 March):**
Saturday: Homo Duplex – the human with inner tensions who becomes wise by holding space for paradox.
**Sunday: Homo Narrans** – the meaning-maker who tells stories to make sense of life, and to make life make sense.

“I used to think I had no control over anything—but now I know that with awareness, I can influence a lot of outcomes.”

Linux Repair Café
Give your still good laptop a second life instead of ditching it because Windows 11 says it is no good... Or you heard Linux is cool.
If you have a backup of your data, that is great, else indicate that you do not, so we can help you. Do so in an extra message, else I don't receive your information.

Hike, Connect & Wine - Opening the New Hiking Season Together
Hello, my dear nature and wine lovers!
It’s finally time to reunite, catch up, and kick off a brand-new hiking season filled with beautiful walks, meaningful connections, and memorable experiences. We’re excited to invite you to a special hiking adventure near Nijmegen, combining nature, movement, and Dutch wine culture.
We’ll begin the day slowly and gezellig with a traditional cup of coffee at our favorite café in Nijmegen, followed by a relaxed walk through the city. From there, we’ll head into the woods, passing through the charming Philosopher’s Valley, with its swinging hedges, forest paths, and surprisingly hilly landscapes that make this area so special.
This hike is all about enjoying nature, good company, and shared moments, with fellow hikers just like you.
**Finish in the Wine Village of the Netherlands:** Groesbeek
After completing our 14 km hike, we’ll arrive in Groesbeek, officially known as the wine village of the Netherlands.
Here, we’ll visit a local wine centre for a guided tour and tasting:
Wine tour & tasting: €19.50 per person
Vineyard & wine cellar visit
Tasting of 3 local wines
Non-alcoholic options available
Duration: 1.5 hours
Optional local food platter: €7.50 per person
A bit of background
The story of Groesbeek wine began in 2000, when former sports teacher Freek Verhoeven started growing vines as a hobby. Thanks to the rich soil and hilly terrain, his wines quickly gained recognition and even won awards. Today, under new leadership, the winery is known for innovation, including low-alcohol (2%) wines and naturally sulfite-free wines.
Groesbeek has since grown into a true wine hub, with vineyards, a professional wine centre, tastings, workshops, and a stunning terrace overlooking the vines, the perfect ending to our hike.

Filmmakers - let's meet again and discuss current and new projects!
Hello filmmakers, we welcome you to our next in-person networking Meetup!
On Sunday March 1, we will meet again in the city center of Utrecht.
We will meet in Lebowski (a cozy bar in the shadow of the Dom Tower), without a designated area, so this Meetup will be a quite informal, unstructured event, aimed at one-on-one networking, and getting to know other (aspiring) filmmakers.
This meetup provides filmmakers (writers, directors, actors, composers, cinematographers, editors, everyone..) with the opportunity to meet and network with one another, share ideas, and potentially collaborate on present or future projects, all in a relaxed and informal setting.
So if you have any specific project in mind that you would like to start up and are looking for people to collaborate with, or if you want to participate in upcoming projects initiated by others, don't hesitate and join this Meetup!
If you want to exchange ideas before the Meetup, please do so on our Discord channel. The invite link can be found on our web page: www.openfilmmakingnetwork.nl
Filmmakers with an idea are warmly invited to share it with us during the Meetup, in the form of a well-prepared tagline and/or pitch.
So bring your ideas, skills and creative self to this meeting & see you then!
This is a free Meetup. Please note there is no group account for our table—drinks and food should be ordered and paid for individually at the bar.
Keep an eye on this page, as we sometimes move next door to Bar Walden, in which case we'll announce it here.
btw: maybe needless to say, but you can walk in (and out) any time from 2 to 5.
PS: Please update your RSVP so we'll know who to expect.

Finding Meaning in Chaos: insights from "Beyond Order" by Jordan Peterson
This meetup explores key ideas from \*\*Jordan Peterson’\*\*s book Beyond Order, focusing on how people find meaning, stability, and direction in a complex and uncertain world.
Where his first book, "**12 Rules for Life"**, emphasised structure and discipline, his follow-up, "**Beyond Order**", looks at what happens when life becomes too rigid — and how growth often requires stepping into uncertainty while still taking responsibility for our actions. The themes are psychological and practical rather than political.
**We’ll discuss topics such as:**
* The balance between order and chaos in everyday life
* Responsibility as a source of meaning
* Truth, integrity, and self-honesty
* Limits, discipline, and self-respect
* Choosing meaningful difficulty over comfort
This is a guided conversation, not a lecture or debate. It would be nice if those who attend also read the book, but it's not necessary — curiosity and personal reflections are also welcome.
Disclaimer: This is not therapy and not a political discussion.
**Who’s this for?**
Anyone interested in psychology, personal responsibility, and meaning-making. First-timers are welcome. No prior knowledge of Jordan Peterson or the book is required.
**Why pay for the event?**
I have to reserve a table at a restaurant, they expect that we at least drink something, so your reservation includes a drink, whether it is tea, coffee or cola.

Want to Truly Heal from Emotional Trauma?
Why are we unhappy? Where does emotional pain come from? Studies show that people who suffer from long-term emotional pain have painful experiences in their lives that were never fully resolved in their mind. In other words, there were issues in the past that were not completely dealt with. This can include abuse in childhood, breakups, divorce, death of a loved one, to name a few.
How do you know whether you have gotten over something painful? Here is an easy test: Do you still have attention on what had happened to you? For instance, do you still find yourself thinking about something painful that you went through? If you are, then you are not over it. In fact, in severe cases, people find themselves playing a "tape" in their mind over and over again.
So how do you heal from your past? How do you stop the "tape" playing in your mind? In this meeting, you will learn a technique to help you with that.
Come join us! Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.
This group is created by the Dianetics and Scientology life improvement center.
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Google Analytics Alternatives
**Google Analytics Alternatives**
Is it finally time to make the switch away from Google Analytics? Two-and-a-half years ago Jason Packer asked this question at Columbus Web Analytics Wednesday.
Since then: Google’s Universal Analytics has been sunset, we’ve changed our name to Columbus Data & Analytics Wednesday, and Jason has released two editions of his book “Google Analytics Alternatives”.
Fresh off the release of the 2nd edition of his book, we thought it was time to re-open this conversation. While people love to complain about it, GA’s market share has remained relatively constant (at least in the United States). Why is that? You won’t find any complaints about GA4 in this talk, but rather an overview of what’s currently available in the market and how to frame your decision-making process.
We’ll also be giving out some free copies of Jason’s book! So even if you’ve got a “GA4Lyfe” tattoo (no judgement), there’s free books to go with the free pizza and beer.
