Volleyball Foundations 3 — Build Skills & Confidence | May 24-June 21 (15+)
**Volleyball Foundations 3 — Connect Your Skills & Play with Confidence (15+)**
Ready to move beyond isolated skills and start playing with flow and purpose? Volleyball Foundations 3 is designed for players who are ready to connect their techniques and develop real game awareness in a team setting.
In this progressive clinic, you’ll focus on integrating your skills into live, rally-based play:
• **Reading the Ball:** Anticipate trajectory and react earlier to stay one step ahead
• **Defense:** Improve footwork, positioning, and overall court coverage
• **Attacking:** Learn the 3-step approach and develop controlled, effective hits over the net
You’ll also begin to understand the rhythm of the game through continuous play. Sessions emphasize “wash drills” and extended rallies, helping you stay engaged, make decisions under pressure, and build confidence during longer points.
Players will be introduced to the **6-Up defensive system** and develop strong on-court communication skills to navigate fast-paced, unpredictable situations.
***
**Who This Clinic Is For:**
• Players who have completed Volleyball Foundations 2 or have a strong base in passing, setting, and serving
• Players ready to develop game awareness, teamwork, and rally consistency
• Athletes looking to feel more confident playing in game-speed environments

Buried bridges, old Lake Iroquois, Humewood Reach, Springmount Reach, Taddle Creek, stories from Toronto's pre-history. Travel back in time to a far different, and natural Toronto. And then move forward to the fascinating enclave of Little Portugal and the history of the area prior to 1974! The history of this beloved community is a story of heroism and heartache. This tour is an updated route of the separate Garrison Creek tour that was retired last year.
Walk along a now hidden waterway and explore ravines in the heart of the city. Travel north on an adventure. Explore historic streets with a very different perspective, of what is beneath. An entire area of the city is buried, and I bet you don't know where. Put it this way in the heart of the city you can find homes that have been buried for over 100 years!
Follow the city streets we walk on every single day and understand the geologic processes that have shaped Toronto. The rest as they say is history.
This walking tour begins at the southeast **corner** of **Stanley Park** at King Street West and Walnut Street, north side, west of Niagara Street. It ends at Christie Subway Station on Bloor Street West.
This walking tour is for all walking levels. Please dress for the season, and hope to see you there.
This tour has a ticket price of $15.00 per person.

In-Person Writing Sprints
Struggling with motivation and focus as you hammer away on your manuscript at home? Want to join a community of writers as we embrace the joys and pains (mostly pains) of writing together?
Bring your laptop, pen & paper, old-school typewriter, or futuristic writing gadget, and join an enthusiastic community of science fiction and fantasy writers as we work on our current projects in the same space. The format will be similar to our online writing sprints: 30-minute blocks of focused, quiet writing time (the sprints), interspersed with breaks where we can chat, ask questions, and share our writing experiences.

Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code - Alan Barber
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
*Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code*
Visual Studio Code is one of the most widely used development environments today, and much of its flexibility comes from its extension ecosystem. Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs.
In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling.
The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. We’ll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options.
