About us: We are an active walking community with about 8,000 members. We conduct regular walks every Thursday and alternate Sunday afternoons. Please take a good lunch or bring along some snacks if you feel hungry along the way. Our walks are usually between 8 - 12 km long. Just so you know, the weather may be hot but as the sun sets, the weather should be cooler. Please be punctual. You are encouraged to be slightly early to avoid disappointments. There will be 5 minutes grace for attendance taking. Please remember that we cannot wait because this would be unfair to those already present. Two segments of the Berlin Wall which polarised Germany for close to 30 years now stand sentry at NUS University Town Sculpture Garden. The historical artefacts were officially unveiled by Guest-of-Honour Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs (MFA); Professor Tommy Koh, Rector of Tembusu College at NUS; and Dr Michael Witter, German’s Ambassador to Singapore, on 18 October. The two remnants of the Cold War are a gift from Mr Elmar Prost, Managing Director of Lagerhaus KW GmbH to Singapore in 2015 to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and Singapore. They have been loaned to NUS through MFA. Let's go find them! Step into an enchanting evening of exploration as we wander through lesser-known corners of Dover, uncovering quiet surprises along the way. ✨ Our journey begins in a tranquil enclave where timeless architecture and leafy surroundings evoke stories from another era , before opening into an expansive green sanctuary ⛳ bathed in the warm glow of sunset. As dusk settles, we’ll encounter a remarkable relic of global significance 🌍 — an unexpected piece of history that now stands here as a quiet symbol of resilience and freedom ️, its weathered surface still carrying echoes of the past. This Meetup group is a community-led group by volunteers, who enjoy the Great Outdoors (GO) and would like to share the GO with u too! ✌️ **This is a free community walk, created simply for the joy of exploring together. To keep the spirit of the walk genuine and relaxed, we don’t involve donations, promotions, or sales of any kind. Over 50 Happy Hour – Liberty Tavern Polaris Join us for a fun and relaxed Over 50 Happy Hour on Friday, April 10th from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Liberty Tavern Polaris. This is a great opportunity to meet new people in our age group in a casual, comfortable setting. Whether you’re in your fifties, sixties, or seventies, everyone is welcome. Some people who attend are retired, while others are still working, but we all share one thing in common — enjoying good conversation and good company. If you’re new to the group, don’t worry. Many people attend solo and quickly find it easy to strike up conversations. The goal of this happy hour is simple: meet people, socialize, laugh, and enjoy the evening. We’ll be gathering at Liberty Tavern Polaris, a welcoming tavern with a warm atmosphere, great food, and a bar perfect for relaxed conversation. Feel free to come when you can and leave when you want. Some members arrive right at 4:00 PM, while others stop by later after work. We’re heading back to Scene75 on Friday, March 27 for a high-energy night of laser tag, mini golf, go-karts, arcade games, and whatever chaos we decide to get into. We’ve done this one before and it was a blast — great turnout, tons of laughs, and just the right mix of competition and hanging out. If you missed it last time, this is your shot. 🎯 What to Expect: Laser tag battles Mini golf challenges Go-karts (for those who need speed) Arcade games & game cards You can load however much you’d like onto a game card. Most people will probably be good with $15–$30, but it’s totally up to you. This is a super casual event — show up, jump into whatever looks fun, rotate groups, and hang out. No pressure, no complicated structure. Just a solid Friday night with good people. Also… I haven’t hosted in a bit and I’m making a push to be more active again. A fun way to compare wines from two different countries at a time. House Wine is squaring off two countries' wines against each other each Thursday in March. March 12, March 19, March 26, and the Finals April 2nd. Meet and Greet format....show up after 7pm, pay your $15 at the cash register, get your wine glass, and enjoy. I will get a table reserved for the group. Remember, you may bring in your own food or takeout. Attendance is your agreement to the Group's Waiver of Liability terms.
