Hi, we will have a board game gathering for expats gamers / English-speaking gamers in Hong Kong! It will be hosted by our lovely and friendly Meetup hosts Karen and Winnie! Strategy games, party games, hidden identity games, anything, your call! A free style event you are welcome to bring along your own games to break it to the gang! Sign up, and we will see you soon! Brace yourself for an exhilarating adventure that will leave you breathless with excitement. Join us as we conquer the 8.5km trail encircling the captivating Tung Lung Chau Island, a journey that will ignite your senses and take approximately 4.5 hours of pure adrenaline. Experience the island's wonders in all their glory, from the breathtaking climb to the 232-meter pinnacle to the awe-inspiring remains of Tung Lung Chau Fort, a formidable defense against marauding pirates. Get ready to immerse yourself in this thrilling escapade, where every step is a testament to the indomitable spirit of exploration. Don't miss out on this extraordinary opportunity to witness nature's beauty and history unfold before your eyes. **What to bring:** * 3-4 liters of water * Snacks to eat along the way (sandwich, fruits, nuts, etc) * Hiking shoes with good support * Sunglasses * Headgear (cap/hat) * Sunscreen * Bug Spray * In case of Rain: plan accordingly **Toilets:** There are toilets at the pier, on the boat and on the island. **Stores:** While the pier does have stores where you can purchase drinks and snacks, it is highly recommended to come fully prepared with all the essentials you'll need for the hike. There is a store on the island, The Holiday Store, where you can also buy some items; whether it will be open on the day we arrive is anyone's guess. **\*Meeting Point:** Sai Won Ho MTR Station - Exit B \*Once everyone arrives we will walk to the Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter Landing No. 10. This is an 11 min walk. **Ferry Schedule**: Click [here](https://www.td.gov.hk/en/transport_in_hong_kong/public_transport/ferries/kaito_services_map/service_details/index.html#k15). **Time:** 9:00 am (SHARP). This will give us 45 min to walk to the ferry terminal and DEPART at 9:45 AM. **IMPORTANT**: Out of respect to the members that arrive on time, we will only be able to wait a maximum of 5 minutes. Should you arrive after 9:05 am, I will no longer be answering phone calls or responding to messages as I need to give my time and attention to those that have arrived on time.

A game of Briar and Bramble, in which we find out if these critters can survive the elements and each other as they travel to a new home in a fantasy world. **Christ Heist** It’s 1907 and you’ve been down on your luck. Jobs are drying up, wars are being waged, and the west is growing. As luck would have it, your reputation precedes you: as a storied felon, you and your crew have been forged through indominable industry expertise and pulled together for one last job: **Rob the Church.** **The House at Mirror Lake** At the far edge of Mirror Lake sits a lonely house next to the water. Locals know the owner Lars to be friendly enough but reclusive, private. Even so, no one has heard from him for weeks. This isn’t necessarily abnormal, but some have grown worried. Has something befallen the kind hermit, or is this a sign of something darker? Weren't there goblins seen about the area recently? Good thing some visiting heroes are on hand to see what the trouble is.... The House at Mirror Lake, presented by Dragonbane, a fantasy game of mirth and mayhem. WHAT IS ONE-SHOT SATURDAY? It's a game in which you never know where the next stop will be, because it’s all down to the decisions you and your fellow players make. Usually one person is the Game Master (or "GM"). Everyone else will be players, taking the role of the characters in the game. The players get to say what their characters say, think, and do. The GM describes everything else in the world. Then... we play to find out what happens. The game is a conversation: I say something, then you reply, maybe someone else chimes in. We talk about what's happening to the characters we imagine and the world around them. We also talk about the rules, which help us decide what happens next if the next step is in doubt. The rules differ from game to game: some use dice to shape the story, others use cards or something else. It's always a conversation, though.

Head out to FANGs 2nd annual board game garage sale! **We will have multiple sellers and hundreds of games!** We're selling games from 5pm - 8pm. Swing into the event room on the first floor and pick up some great "new to you" games. Grab a beer while you're there and tip our bar tender friends Seventh Son has a small parking lot & street parking is free on Sundays. They will also have a food truck. You can play your games in the Sun Room (up stairs) or at the tables in the main bar.

Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above. There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change. The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/). Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others.
