Franklin Method and Myofascial Training
Be-weekly lessons with experienced practitioner Ingrid Wenger.
We want to consciously experience movement together and give our bodies the attention they need. Everyone participates according to their abilities – together, yet each at their own pace.
We work with balls, bands, music, but above all with our imagination and lots of fun. The training is based on the Franklin Method and Karin Gurtner's Slings Myofascial Training. The goal is to increase your physical well-being and open up a new connection to your body. It's wonderful to discover that you already possess many tools within yourself to enhance your quality of life. Simple and without much effort.

This is an informal meetup, for learners that want to do their first steps in programming or want to consolidate their skills.
We spend one hour and a half working on tutorials, exercises or projects. If you need help to get started, we will help you finding a good way for learning.
You should be prepared to spend your time "doing things": just hanging around and listening might get boring, if all other people are learning on their side.
There are experienced people are around and you can ask questions as soon as their arise or bring with you questions you have had during the week.
During the last half an hour, we do a (simple) exercise together.
We speak German, English, and a few other languages.

From Reading to Recommending - an Introduction to NarraLune by Stefanie Wedel
As a lifelong bookworm and serial note-taker, our speaker Stefanie spent years collecting insights from literary podcasts, magazine previews, and personal reading lists. Things got even more interesting with the discovery of reading challenges, such as *“read a book with over 500 pages”* or *“a book featuring magical creatures that aren’t dragons.”*
The result of trying to organize all of this? **NarraLune** — a Python-based application designed to connect a curated book database with an intelligent matching framework.
In this talk, we’ll explore how NarraLune:
* Uses structured SQL filtering to manage and query book data
* Applies genre inference to enrich metadata
* Integrates generative language models to recommend books for diverse and creative challenge prompts
Stefanie will walk us through the concept and architecture of the system, share practical insights into Python and AI integration, and reflect on how personal interests can evolve into meaningful technical projects.
No coding knowledge is required to follow the talk
This meetup will take place in the reading room (Lesesaal) of Zentralbibliothek Zürich.

AWS Community GameDay Europe
**AWS Community GameDay Europe is coming!**
Strategy. Fun. Collaboration.
We will join \~**50 User Groups across Europe** for a unique event: an **international, synchronized AWS Community GameDay**, powered by the European AWS community.
🧩 **A custom set of challenges makes this GameDay one of a kind**
Get hands-on with **AI, security and cloud-native** challenges — no slides, no tutorials. A common scoreboard with global and local prices.
Come with a friend, a team, or solo - we’ll form teams of **2 to 4 people on site**.
**What is an AWS GameDay?**
An AWS GameDay is a team-based, competitive learning experience that transforms cloud training into an immersive, high-energy event. Unlike traditional workshops where participants follow step-by-step instructions, GameDay drops teams into a live AWS environment with real infrastructure—often broken, misconfigured, or under attack—and challenges them to figure out solutions on their own.
**What makes it a unique experience**
* No step-by-step guides—teams must explore, experiment, and problem-solve
* Real AWS accounts with actual running infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, S3, databases)
* Time pressure creates urgency and forces prioritization decisions
* Competitive leaderboard visible to all teams drives engagement
* Points lost for poor decisions (overspending, downtime, security gaps) teach consequences
**Format**
Teams of 2-4 people compete over 2 hours. Each team receives access to their own AWS environment with pre-deployed infrastructure.
**⚠️⚠️⚠️ BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP ⚠️⚠️⚠️**
Registration closing on March 13th!!!
**Note:** Because there are some global limitations on the number of attendees, is better if you register before March 10th.

**Talk Details:**
**Beyond the Buzzword: A Data-Driven Analysis of LLM-Generated Code Vulnerabilities (Working Title, may change):**
Can LLMs write more secure code than humans? Or are they better security reviewers? In this talk we discuss what data and measurements are needed to answer these questions. We will take a sceptical look at marketing claims regarding LLM benchmarks, describe attempts to define "secure code", and describe research measuring secure code generation. By the end of this talk you will be able to take a clear-eyed view of any benchmarks and claims that LLMs generate secure code.
**Swiss e-ID, Architecture and overcoming practical issues (Working Titel and working Abstract, will change):**
The Swiss e-ID, planned for release in late 2026, is based on decentralized identity (SSI) standards, offering strong security and privacy properties in theory. This talk provides a practical look at the e-ID, its ecosystem, and underlying standards, drawing on insights from a real-world project. We will assess its suitability for use cases such as identity verification and digital authentication, and discuss how it fits with existing identity and access management architectures and protocols. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the ecosystem, security and privacy challenges, and practical considerations for applying the Swiss e-ID in real-world systems.
Handstand Training (Open Level)
Sundays, 2pm-3pm.
Trial class: CHF 20
Drop-in: CHF 35
Book here: www.balancewithale.com/zurich/handstand
"I'll never be able to handstand".
You kick at the wall but see no progress.
Your wrists hurt.
You don't know how to improve...
It doesn't have to be this way.
Progress doesn't come from trying harder — it comes from practicing smarter. Handstands are a skill, and when you train them as such, they begin to click in a way that feels almost magical.
This class builds the foundations (strength, alignment and technique) that make handstands feel achievable and fun. Through clear progressions and personalized drills, you'll discover how capable your body truly is, and how handstands start to feel within reach when you train with intention and support.
Because drills are tailored to you, the class welcomes all levels — from "I've never kicked up before" to confident freestanding balancers who want to develop greater control.

From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
**Abstract**
Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively.
This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way.

Anger and Resentment, How to Handle their Source and Live a Better Life
Wouldn’t it be nice to find a way to overcome your feelings of anger so that you not only control them, but you no longer have the urge to lose your temper in the first place?
And how about being able to shake off resentments, persistent annoyance, or even feelings of vengeance?
We’d like to invite you to an event on how to overcome anger and resentment. We will show you why people have trouble controlling their temper and where resentment comes from.
Flaring anger can ruin a meeting, a relationship, an opportunity, or just about any aspect of life. Worst of all, outbursts towards our family can create hurt that lingers throughout a lifetime.
You want to have a civil conversation, and you’ve vowed that you wouldn’t lose your temper, but a few minutes later, the anger flares up. Maybe you’ve realized that being angry doesn’t get you what you want so you internalize it. Or maybe you avoid the knockdown, drag-out fights, but stewing in resentment is exhausting and takes an emotional toll.
In this event we show you how to get to the root of your anger so that it stops being an issue to you. You’ll also learn why people harbor resentments and how to move on.
Don't continue to struggle, make a difference in your life, and join us for this local event.
