Art X Fashion @ The Museum at FIT
Art X Fashion @ The Museum at FIT
Admission to the museum is free. This exhibition will be on display from February 19 until April 19, 2026. If you cannot attend the opening, please stop in and see the show at your convenience. Call ahead for hours. This exhibition is a comprehensive exploration of the symbiotic relationship between the world of fashion and fine art. Featuring more than 140 objects, including garments, accessories, textiles, photographs, and original artworks drawn from MFIT's permanent collection, *Art X Fashion* challenges the traditional hierarchies of visual culture, presenting fashion and art each as parallel, potent expressions of social, intellectual, and creative forces. Curated by Dr. Elizabeth Way, curator of costume and accessories at MFIT, the exhibition reflects MFIT's mission to advance the understanding and appreciation of fashion's critical role in culture. The core of *Art X Fashion* lies in its profound engagement with the eternal question: "Is fashion art?" The exhibition explores the ways that fashion has always been a partner, not a follower, of fine art, highlighting typically overlooked integrations throughout history. This includes examples of how the two disciplines have worked together to create European styles, from the drama of Rococo and Neoclassical grandeur to the unsettling world of Surrealism, to the shock of Pop Art and postmodernism. **Share your excitement using #ArtXFashionMFIT** **Go to https://www.fitnyc.edu/museum/exhibitions/art-fashion/index.php for more information.**

Body Doubling and Building - Coworking Session #1 (In Person)
Body Doubling and Building - Coworking Session #1 (In Person)
## First Builder Session: In-Person Body Doubling for Founders, Creatives, and Builders We are a small group of aspiring founders, creatives, and builders who are tired of not acting on our ideas. Sometimes, in-person accountability is the push we need for consistency. This group exists to create a shared environment where execution becomes easier simply because others around you are also building. Our goal is to form a small, intimate community of people committed to building and releasing real projects—people who want to hold each other accountable and reach the next level. Right now, the structure is intentionally lightweight and still forming. We are starting with one weekly in-person body doubling session to create consistent, in-person accountability. *** ## What this session is This is a 3-hour in-person body doubling session. You bring something to work on. You sit down. You work quietly. Others do the same. We’ll begin with brief introductions so everyone knows who’s in the room and what they’re building. After that, we’ll move into focused work blocks using a simple structure: * 50 minutes of focused work * 10 minute break * Repeat The emphasis is on execution, not discussion. There is no requirement to socialize, but for those interested, there may be an optional social aspect afterward, such as grabbing drinks nearby. *** ## Who should attend * Aspiring founders working on startups or side projects * Software engineers building products * Writers, designers, and creatives working on personal work * Builders who want consistent, in-person accountability * Anyone ready to start and execute You do not need to be far along. You just need something you want to work on. *** ## What to bring * A laptop or materials for your project * Something specific you intend to work on * A willingness to focus *** This is the first session. The group will remain small as we build the right foundation. Come build.
