* 6:00 - 6:20: Socializing
* 6:20 - 6:40: Announcements and AI news
* 6:40 - 7:40: Talk(s) and Q&A
* 7:40 - 8:00 Networking
* 8:00: Head to the nearest pub for dinner
**Abed Karim: "My take on using AI to train AI"**
**Description:** I’ll show how tools like ChatGPT, Claude Code, Solvit, and similar assistants can help with the actual work: reading a paper, understanding the method, finding or making a dataset, fine-tuning a model for a specific domain, and running and tracking experiments.
The idea is simple. We do not need to know every framework or every training detail before we can start testing ideas. These tools make it easier to move faster, try things, and work through research and experimentation with less overhead.
As an example, I’ll walk through how I would approach a recent paper, *Experiential Reinforcement Learning*, and use AI tools to break it down, implement the pipeline, run experiments, and look at possible limitations or next steps.
**Speaker Bio:** Abed works on dataset design, agentic AI systems, and reinforcement learning for language models. His current work focuses on making LLMs more creative in advertising and media, and he has also contributed to research on cultural effects in LLM mathematical reasoning and creative generation, including the creation of a cultural version of GSM8K.
**Javier Candeira: "A No Name Game called Nonaga"**
**Talk description:** Nonaga is a 2008 board game by Viktor Bautista i Roca. It's a two-player full-information turn-taking game with a twist: at every turn, each player gets to move a piece *and* also to reconfigure the game board!
Javier will introduce the rules and bring sets for people to try them out, as a preview of his future talk introducing a Nonaga-playing Alpha-Zero style engine.
Nonaga Instructions: [https://hiperactivo.com/nonaga](https://hiperactivo.com/nonaga)
**Speaker Bio:** Javier Candeira is a software engineer, entrepreneur, public speaker, conference organiser, and a lifelong student of way too many topics, including machine learning.

𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬:
• Let's keep things respectful. Our group has a diverse range of members and we get along great! This is because we accept one another, avoid insensitive comments, try to keep swearing to a minimum, and steer clear of gossip and mindless venting.
• Please be punctual. Our hosts will check the Meetup page and post their location upon arrival before redirecting their attention to the people present. If you are late (more than 5 min), don’t expect to be able to reach them as they may not check their phone. Please allow enough time for travel and parking. (On that note, we don't organise carpooling because of various liability issues.)
• If you say you're going to come, then please actually come. Many of our events end up waitlisted so if you claim a spot and don't show up, then someone else might miss out. Attendees who don't show up (or cancel their RSVP within 12 hours of the event) will be flagged as "no-shows". Repeat "no-showers" will be banned from the group to make space for more reliable attendees.
• We want to keep all our members safe and healthy so if you are unwell, then please stay home. If you need to cancel within the 12 hour "no show" window, please send a courtesy message to the event host.
• Please don't come if you are just looking to hit people up for your own agenda. Our members are so much more than followers for your Instagram account, customers for your Herbalife business, or people for your Forex empire. In our community, we are about adding value to one another. If you are just coming with a self-serving agenda, then we aren't your crowd.
• And finally, this isn't a great group for people who like wallowing in life's problems. We choose positivity and gratitude, so bring some with you!

Thoughtstorm® Session Topic: Intl Day of Happiness, Yarraville
Would you like to enhance your creativity, confidence and increase your awareness? We’d love you to join us to Thoughtstorm® the topic International Day of Happiness in the warm, friendly environment of the Yarraville Community Centre.
How Thoughtstorm came about
Thoughtstorm is a technique developed from a seed of speculation: are there more effective (rational, cooperative, compassionate) ways of thinking? Methods whose long-term consequences will not lead to oblivion. This is the genesis of Thoughtstorm.
What is it?
For anyone with an interest in leadership, deeper conversations or creative problem solving, something much more than a group discussion occurs. What is experienced in Thoughtstorm is a forgotten sensory ability - mind-linking. An evolution in human thinking and learning.
The direction moves from a narrow range of possibility into discovering corecepts, when individual minds merge into a much more powerful collective awareness and experience a deeper, more compassionate comprehension of reality. Corecepts trigger intuitive recognition and agreement by the group, a ‘Why, of course!’ reaction.
New insights guaranteed!
Because this process taps into abilities already present in the human mind and into aggregates of consciousness straining to express themselves, very little practice is required.
Would you like to see and understand things in a way that is new for all of us? Would you like to develop your consciousness and your creative intelligence? Would you like to be inspired to create positive change?
Then come and join us to Thoughtstorm together.
If it’s your first time to Thoughtstorm, please RSVP early to give plenty of time to arrange a brief prep call on Zoom to go over the Thoughtstorm procedures so we can all get started on time together.
**Agenda:**
6.30pm - Arrive, meet and greet, read over Thoughtstorm instructions
6.45pm - Begin the Thoughtstorm
7.45pm - Finish
When you RSVP we will be in touch with the details.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Transference Healing - Alchemy for Transformation
What is Transference Healing?
What we are all seeking, one way or another, is a return to wholeness. We’re hoping and needing to shift and transmute our old ways that have brought discomfort and even pain- into our physical bodies, our energy levels, our emotional & mental bodies, and even our souls.
Athena Gregory has found this multi-dimensional healing and transformational path with Transference Healing. \*TH is a seventh-dimensional healing and ascension modality that is advanced, comprehensive and multi-dimensional. It works with frequency, light, and matter to initiate a transference shift within us. As we receive the energy, we experience a shift from one state of being to another. It is pure alchemy, affecting us on many levels, from the inside out.
The \*TH energies empower us to work with the very depths of our anatomy, consciousness, and spiritual being. It unifies ancient healing wisdom with unique healing procedures, brought through by Alexis. These are channeled procedures that are etheric and electromagnetic. The higher frequencies of \*TH enable light body activations and Merkaba experiences.
Receiving or running TH sessions supports us to achieve and maintain a consistent level of health and wellness, while connecting us to our inner and Divine nature. It’s a healing of hope, light, and love, enhancing spiritual awakening, so that we can return to a state of Oneness with the Omniverse and the God/Goddess.
"Enlightenment is not just a state of mind; it is a state of embodied being."
Come and find out more about this amazing modality and get a taste of it, in this experiential presentation.

Fundamentals of Authentic Relating - Listening and Responding
Feeling heard, understood and met is the foundation of fulfilling relationships.
And that begins with listening.
In March, we explore what it means to be(come) the type of person who can turn ordinary conversations into moments of connection with deep listening and thoughtful responding:
* The focus of attention of a conversation: you - me - us
* When to listen and when to speak
* The Authentic Relating framework: Listen, reflect, share impact
* How to bring noticing and presence to our listening
* What to listen to: the 3 levels of listening
* How to create an empathic environment for deeper connection: listening to understand, not to fix
* How to weave our experience by sharing impact
**TICKETS**
Tickets start at $30.
[Book here](https://www.mysoremelbourne.com/authentic-relating)
We’re committed to accessibility and offer further discount if money is a real barrier to attending.
**FUNDAMENTALS OF AUTHENTIC RELATING**
Fundamentals of Authentic Relating (AR) happens every 3rd Saturday of the month.
It’s for people who want to bring more awareness, honesty, and connection into their relationships.
Anyone curious about personal growth, wanting more ease and connection in their interactions, interested in improving their relational skills, or wishing to gain a formal understanding of AR frameworks and mechanics.
Sessions are themed and we’ll begin by exploring how to notice what is happening inside (Feb), followed by listening more deeply (Mar), developing curiosity (Apr), expressing oneself with clarity and courage (May), and navigating boundaries and conflict with care (June).
Life & Death Cafe
Join us for tea, coffee and cookies as we centre our discussions around Life & Death.
The intention of our café is to initiate, normalize, socialize & transform the conversations around End-of-Life, Death and Dying in our society.
We provide a safe space where we bring acceptance, empathy, empowerment and education to each conversation.
Traditionally these cafes have been known as ‘Death Cafes’, however, it is our opinion that Life is present until the moment breath leaves the body and at all stages we have the opportunity to choose the Life we please.
Also, from a theosophical context, Theosophy offers a perspective that puts Death as a recurring incident in an endless Life that opens the gateway to a fuller more transformed existence.
***NOTE: If you wish to stay and discuss a personal matter, that you are dealing with concerning End-of-Life, we will make ourselves available after the cafe has concluded.***
**PLEASE NOTE: NUMBERS FOR EACH WORKSHOP ARE CAPPED AT 20.**

Using Philosophy to Cope with Current Events
So this month's prompt is more general. I think we can all agree that we are living in "unique" times that require coping skills. I think that one role and/or purpose of philosophy is to help us deal with our daily lives and our "unique" times. So, let's share our feelings and thoughts about which philosopher/philosophy we turn to in order to deal with our crazy events. Who/what helps you stay focused in your daily life and helps you sleep at night. I find that Stoicism with a little philosophical pessimism mixed in goes a long way in helping me deal with what I see as very destructive, fearful and mean spirited public policies at both the state and federal levels. Hope to see you on March 28th!
