Azure Durable Functions on the move
Azure Skåne invites you to yet another community evening — hosted on‑site at **Knowit, Malmö**.
***Please note that this is not our regular venue, so double‑check the location before you arrive.***
Agenda:
* 17:15 - 17:45 Meet and Greet
* 17:45 - 18:30 Session
* 18:30 - 20:00 Food and Mingle
"**Azure Durable Functions on the move**"
Many companies rely on enterprise route-planning platforms that promise optimisation, flexibility, and scalability. In reality, they often become expensive black boxes that are hard to adapt, slow to evolve, and difficult to operate.
In this talk, we will share the story of how our team replaced an enterprise route planning solution with our own system built on Azure Durable Functions.
Instead of fighting the limitations of a monolithic product, we designed a cloud-native orchestration engine that is simpler, faster to iterate on, and easier to understand. By leveraging Durable Functions, we implemented complex routing workflows, parallel processing, and long-running optimizations without introducing heavy infrastructure.
This talk is not about theoretical architecture. It is s a practical story of replacing enterprise software with a cloud-native approach, and what worked (and what didn’t) along the way.
If you’re working with Azure, serverless architectures, or complex workflow orchestration, this session will give you real-world insights and ideas you can apply to your own systems.
Speakers:
• **Afolabi Abass**. Engineering Manager @Mover
• **Yegor Lopatin**. Director of Engineering @Mover
Let's meet and talk books
Hi everyone! Thursday is the offical book meeting day, so let's gather and share our reading.
As usual, we will meet at the fourth floor of the Central Library as it has good facilities for book clubs and it is also free to use. No extra cafe money to spend.
Idea is to meet and connect over books. Each participant present 1-2 books they would like to recommend or just talk about, and then we'll see where conversation leads us. Again, there is no limitation to genre or type of book you are reading. The point is that we are free to read whatever we want and then share those reading experiences, so remember to be respectful to each other.
I hope to see as many of you as possible. :)
Danish Language Cafe
https://www.facebook.com/korsgadesprogcafe/
Come and join our cosy language cafe. We recommend that you already speak some Danish (maybe around module 3 on sprogskole) so you can join and understand the conversation. We are mostly two Danes joining, so we can make two groups: beginners and more advanced. We are having conversations while drinking tea. If you have an exam coming up, we can speak about your exam subjects some of the time.
Small donations (10-20 kroner) are appreciated, to support the rent of the place.
You find us in the basement of Korsgade 19. It is a door to the right of the main entrance.
From Launch to Traction. Go-To-Market Lessons from Founders
**Registration**: https://luma.com/heqfvt6h
**About Event**
Launching a product is one thing. Finding real traction is another.
For the first Founders Circle in Copenhagen, we’re bringing together experienced founders to share how they approached go-to-market — what worked, what failed, what they misjudged, and what ultimately helped them gain traction.
This is an honest, practical conversation focused on early positioning, first customers, channel experiments, pivots, and the messy middle between idea and growth.

**Tony Beltramelli**
Founder & CEO at Uizard
**Dennis Green-Lieber**
Founder & CEO at Propane

Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at our Copenhagen Shut Up & Write! sessions.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, résumé, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
- 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros.
- Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour.
- After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
It's best to be on time, but BEING LATE IS ALSO OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. (We’ll be the ones with the small Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
Café Philo Copenhagen
We meet on Saturdays late mornings to have a casual, meaningful conversation on topics of interest to everyone chosen on the spot by majority voting. So please feel free to propose your own topic!
Everyone is welcome to talk, but if you prefer to just join and listen, that is perfect too.
As the contacted cafés usually only give reservations to eating guests, it is very welcome if you order something to eat during our stay. This is however not mandatory.
This event is in English.
The exact place can still change.

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday for Jane Austen’s *P*e*rsuasion.* We were quite a large crowd, but managed still to have a meaningful exchange. Thanks to Xinxin for suggesting the book.
The next book to read, by popular demand, is American novelist [Zora Neale Hurston](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zora_Neale_Hurston)’s novel *[Their Eyes Were Watching God](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/37415.Their_Eyes_Were_Watching_God?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=UYWpFV2l9H&rank=1)* from 1937.
Set in Florida in the early 20th century, the novel is a coming-of-age story that follows a young girl, Janie Crawford, on her journey of searching for herself, her own voice and independence.
A review of the book reads:
*Out of print for almost thirty years - due largely to initial audiences’ rejection of its strong black female protagonist - Hurston’s classic has since its 1978 reissue become perhaps the most widely read and highly acclaimed novel in the canon of African-American literature.*
You can read the book [here](https://books.apple.com/dk/book/their-eyes-were-watching-god/id1570302263?l=da). It is, of course, also available as an [audiobook](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL79XEuIN26cIyEzvKcVc676mx1vMaQEdo&si=4JfJa9mW0nzSr1l1). You can also watch it, so to speak, as there’s a TV movie version from 2005 featuring Halle Berry [available as well](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9ck3tc).
For other resources on how to get a hold of classic books, please see the *About us* section on the front page of the group [here](https://www.meetup.com/copenhagen-classic-book-book-club/?eventOrigin=home_groups_you_organize).
We meet up on Saturday, March 21st, at 4 p.m. The location will, once again, be the Fireplace Lounge at 25hours Hotel in Pilestræde 65.
I think we really found the perfect future place for the book club at the Fireplace Lounge. If you want to read more about 25hours Hotels and their hospitality towards culture and community, you can do so [here](https://25hours-hotels.com/about-us/). There is a 10% discount on drinks on the bar, just mention the discount to the staff.
Also, please remember to bring your suggestion for the next classic book to read.
And, please, as always, be mindful and respectful of each other, so that everyone feels respected and appreciated.
In the meantime, happy reading/listening/watching or however you do it.
Connect & Grow: Networking & Social for Career Changers
**Are you currently between jobs or looking for your next big challenge?**
Being "in-between" jobs can be a solitary journey, but it doesn’t have to be. This Friday, join us for a relaxed networking event designed specifically for those looking to expand their professional
circle and build new friendships while navigating the job market.
**Why join us?**
* **Expand Your Network:** Meet people from different industries who might have the lead on your next opportunity.
* **Peer Support:** Share experiences, tips, and resources with others who are in the same boat.
* **Build Friendships:** Beyond "business cards," this is a space to find community and positive vibes.
* **Copenhagen Scene:** Enjoy a coffee in a friendly environment and get out of the "home office" for a few hours.
Whether you are a designer, a developer, or a manager, everyone is welcome. Let’s turn "unemployment" into an opportunity for "new connections."
**When:** Every Friday
**Where:** Yum & Yoga, [Alliancevej 22, 2450 København](https://www.google.com/maps/place//data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x465255e7ef260131:0x8624f5d7b4d83852?sa=X&ved=1t:8290&ictx=111)
**What to bring:** Your positive energy (and maybe a link to your LinkedIn/Portfolio!).
*Let’s grow together!*
Cozy social Noggie Invasion run/jog/walk
Come join us for a run/jog/walk in Sydhavn
Note this trail will start earlier so our visitors can make it back to their ferry.
We are not a typical running club, so please read about the concept in “about us”.
How it works: we don’t know in advance where the trail will go, but we know it will be fun! A member of the club, the 'hare', sets a trail, usually marked with flour. The rest of us, the 'pack', follows the hare's 'scent', i.e., the marks. There will be a 8-10km trail for runners with shortcuts down to approximately 5 km for walkers and those who need a slower pace. We have no set pace - run/walk as slow or as fast as you'd like. After the run we enjoy some refreshments and socialize.
Come a few minutes before the start so that you can say hi and leave your bag in a designated bag car before we set off at 18:30
Don’t worry if there are few registrations on Meetup. We have existed since 1980, and a lot of our members (anywhere from 10 to 30 people) just show up.
Four-legged friends are welcome!
We never cancel.
See you there!
On On,
Climbing @ Boulders Vanløse
**Hi everyone**
\*A few people has asked if they can join if the event is full, and of course. Just write a comment, so I have a overview.\*
I’m David, and I’d love to start a social bouldering club for anyone who wants to climb, hang out, and meet new people!
I will arrange a meetup climbing event every 2nd week or once a month, at different climbing gyms around the city.
The focus is on:
• Climbing and challenging ourselves
• Being social and building a fun community
• Training together – all levels welcome
I’ve been climbing for about 1.5 years, so I’m still in my learning phase, but I’m more than happy to help beginners get started and share the basics with anyone who’s new.
We will start at **Boulders at Vanløse the 21 May @ 14.00** o’clock. If people want, we can go for a drink or a bit of food afterwards. There is a nice Korean place close by and if we are alot i might do a reservation.
There will be a warm up and cool down, focusing on climbing and mobility. If you want to join in on that, otherwise drop in when ever.
If you’re interested in joining, just drop a comment.
Looking forward to climbing with you all!
**Short Overview of Boulder Gyms in Copenhagen and bouldering is:**
**Beta Boulders**
A modern and friendly gym with lots of different wall styles. Great for both beginners and experienced climbers, and there’s a nice training area as well.
**Bison Boulders**
Located a bit outside the city, but very relaxed and welcoming. Good variety of routes and plenty of space. A calm, nice atmosphere.
**Boulders CPH**
One of the biggest and most popular bouldering gyms in Copenhagen. Many routes for all levels and a very social environment.
**What Is Bouldering?**
Bouldering is a type of climbing done at low heights — usually up to around 4–5 meters — **without ropes or harnesses**. Instead, there are thick mats on the floor for safety.
You only need climbing shoes, which you can rent, and maybe some chalk for your hands.
Climbs are short “problems” or routes that you try to solve using balance, technique, and strength. Some are easy, some are challenging, and you can always choose the level that fits you.
Bouldering is also very social — people often help each other, share tips, cheer each other on, and have fun together. It’s perfect for meeting new people while getting a good workout.

From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
**Abstract**
Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively.
This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way.

How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind.
Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself.
Here is the secret of being positive and free:
Thinking positively is not enough.
You also have to get rid of the negative thinking.
Your mind is like a garden.
You can plant many beautiful flowers in it, but if you don't get rid of the weeds when you plant your flowers, the weeds will soon take over the whole garden.
A positive thought is like a flower in your mental garden, and a negative thought is like a weed.
You cannot expect to have a positive mindset if you continue to have negative thoughts dwelling and growing there.
So, how do you get rid of the negative thoughts? That's what this Meetup is all about. Attend this local meeting and find out!
The Meetup event will be led by a consultant who had helped many people live happier in life.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.
This group is created by the Dianetics & Scientology life improvement center.
