We're back (again)! At the Boyd Community Hub, Southbank. We'll aim to have 30 minutes of introduction and tutorial, with a 6pm start to our first game, so please be ON TIME. **What to Expect:** Blood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game requiring a storyteller to take a roughly a dozen people through a series of "days and nights" where townspeople try to identify and hunt down a *demon* before they become the hunted. **Beginners welcome!** You don't need to know how to play **AT ALL**, so please invite a friend, we will run a tutorial for those who need it. **NOTE** BOTC requires fluent English, the crux of this game is communication and deception. **2 Strike Policy** Late-leavers: attendees who cancel within 24 hours of the event. No-shows: attendees who mark themselves as “going” but don’t turn up. Someone who does either of these once will be forgiven but flagged. On a second offence, they will be removed. Long-time regulars will be afforded some leniency. Legitimate reasons will be considered for leniency.

🎉 **KISMETRIX \| TRUE CONNECTION** [Ticketed Event](https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/may-23-kismetrix-social-a-hosted-singles-evening-at-secret-garden-tickets-1988384078304?aff=oddtdtcreator) **Kismetrix Social — Drinks, Conversation & Connection Under the Sunflowers** Hosted by KISMETRIX \| True Connection 📍 Secret Garden Bar: 7/60 Fitzroy St, St Kilda VIC 3182 📅 Saturday 23 May 2026 🕖 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM *(venue open late)* ## A SATURDAY NIGHT TO ACTUALLY CONNECT There's a place in St Kilda where sunflowers hang from the ceiling, the garden feels like a secret you've stumbled into, and the night just slows down a little. That's where we're hosting Kismetrix Social — our most relaxed evening, designed for singles who want real conversation, good company, and a Saturday night that actually feels like one. Think less "dating event"… more a Saturday night you'd actually choose to go out for. ## 💫 ABOUT THE EVENT Tired of dating apps that go nowhere? Over environments that feel forced or awkward? So were we. KISMETRIX \| True Connection was created for people who want something more human — real conversation\, real presence\, genuine connection\. You'll walk into a room full of people who: 🌻 Are open to meeting others 🌻 Enjoy good conversation and social energy 🌻 Prefer real-life interaction over apps 🌻 Are simply here for a good, intentional night out Come for a drink. Stay for the vibe. See where the night goes. ## 🌻 THE VIBE Picture it: warm lighting, hanging sunflowers above your head, the garden buzzing softly around you, and the kind of crowd where it's actually easy to start a conversation. Expect: 🌻 A welcome drink in your hand within a minute of arriving 🌻 A warm, hosted welcome so nobody walks in feeling lost 🌻 Hosted introductions early in the evening to help conversations get started 🌻 Free-flowing mingling with light support from our hosts throughout the night 🌻 Conversation prompts on each table, if the room needs them 🌻 A relaxed, social crowd of intentional singles No rotations. No forced formats. No hookup-bar energy. Just a thoughtfully designed night under the sunflowers, with people who actually want to meet someone. ## 👥 AGE GUIDE: 28–45 Kismetrix Social is open to all singles who care about meaningful connection. We provide an age guide so you know what to expect — most of our guests will fall within this range. The focus of our events is intentional people, not strict age groups. If you're slightly outside this range and the format feels right for you, you're welcome to book. ## 🎯 WHO THIS NIGHT IS FOR This event is for singles who: 🌻 Prefer a relaxed, social way to meet people 🌻 Enjoy conversation without forced formats 🌻 Want something more grounded than the apps 🌻 Appreciate good venues, good drinks, good company 🌻 Are open, friendly, and easy-going Come solo or with a friend — most people come solo. You'll be in good company. ## 🍽️ FOOD & DRINKS Your ticket includes a welcome drink on arrival. Secret Garden has a great food and drinks menu throughout the night, available directly from the venue. Perfect if you'd like to make a full evening of it — and many of our guests do. ## 🎟 TICKETS 🌻 Early-Bird — $39 🌻 Bring-a-Friend Early-Bird — $35 each (paired bookings only) 🌻 General — $45 🌻 Last Minute— $55 Welcome drink included at every tier. Tickets are limited to maintain a comfortable, social atmosphere — early booking is recommended. ## 💡 WHY PEOPLE LOVE KISMETRIX EVENTS 🌻 No swiping. No apps. Just real people 🌻 No awkward formats or forced interactions 🌻 Thoughtful structure without rigidity 🌻 A genuinely enjoyable night — even if you come solo 🌻 Hosted by people who actually care about how the night feels Many guests come "just for a drink"… and end up staying all night. ## ✨ WHERE KISMETRIX SOCIAL FITS Kismetrix Social is our most accessible event — a relaxed, hosted evening for singles who want real connection without the structure of our Elevated Evenings or the formality of our Dinners. It's the easiest way to experience how we do things, and many guests go on to join our other events from here. ## 🔔 IMPORTANT NOTES 🌻 This is a hosted social experience — not speed dating 🌻 A welcome drink is included; additional drinks and food are available at the venue 🌻 Participation in introductions is always optional 🌻 Respect, boundaries, and good energy are essential 🌻 Tickets are non-refundable but transferable ## 🔗 STAY CONNECTED WITH KISMETRIX \| TRUE CONNECTION 📧 [social@kismetrix.com.au](https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/may-23-kismetrix-social-a-hosted-singles-evening-at-secret-garden-tickets-1988384078304?aff=oddtdtcreator) 🌐 [www.kismetrix.com.au](http://www.kismetrix.com.au/ "http://www.kismetrix.com.au") 📱 Follow us on Instagram, Facebook & Eventbrite 📄 Important Notice: By registering for this event\, you confirm that you have read and agree to Kismetrix \| True Connection's Terms & Conditions\, Privacy Policy\, Disclaimer and Code of Conduct\. 🤝 Collaborations: [collabs@kismetrix.com.au](https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/may-23-kismetrix-social-a-hosted-singles-evening-at-secret-garden-tickets-1988384078304?aff=oddtdtcreator)

May City Meetup - New time!
May City Meetup - New time!
**PLEASE NOTE: We're now starting our city meetup at 11am, so it's the same time as our suburb meetup.** Come to our city book club in May! We'll be at the Dymocks Melbourne cafe sitting upstairs in the mezzanine level and we want to hear about what you like to read! For those of you who haven't joined us before, we're a book club with no set book, no homework and no judgement! Come along and tell us what you enjoy reading and what's on your to read list. We ask that you bring no more than four books in total, being a couple you've recently read and/or a couple that are on your to-read list. Given the often adult topics discussed, our meetups aren't suitable for children under the age of 14. **Please note that as advised in our email and post of November 14th 2024 our fees have increased from $5.00 to $6.50 per person per meetup. This is due to Meetup.com doubling the organiser fees for meetup groups. We now pay at least $50 a month to have a Meetup site (unfortunately this cost fluctuates due to Meetup charging us in USD). All fees go towards paying the meetup fees. This can only be accepted via the Meetup site and we do not accept cash on the day.** Similarly, if you are planning to attend, please RSVP on the Meetup site. RSVPs can be made right up until the moment the event starts, we are unable to accept cash on the day or attendances from those who have not RSVPd as we need to plan for attendance numbers and space.
Philosophy Roundtable: Memory and Dreams
Philosophy Roundtable: Memory and Dreams
Please join us this Sunday to discuss memory and dreams. We will meet at the Captain Melville at 2pm for a 2:15pm start sharp. **Please note the new $5 mandatory donation entry fee** (cash or transfer on day) to help with MeetUp subscription costs, venue costs, etc. There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary, nor a philosophical background, all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo, in the spirit of learning and friendly debate, so please feel free to challenge assumptions and be prepared to have your own assumptions challenged. This event is also posted to the Socrates Cafe group. Topic questions below, however please note these are open sessions not strict to the below: * Is memory a record, a reconstruction or a story? * When should we trust our memory? Is vividness reliable? * Are you the same person as your teenage self? * Can you genuinely remember something that never happened? * Does memory make us the same person over time? * Is nostalgia a form of truth or distortion? * Can forgetting be a virtue? * What should societies remember, and what should they let go? * Would you choose to have perfect memory if it were offered to you? * When we wake from a dream, are we remembering an experience or partly constructing a story after the fact? * Are emotions in dreams real emotions or only simulations of emotions? Hope to see you there!

Shut Up & Write!® East Side Columbus
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 11 at Streetlight Guild. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. **BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled! If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Happy writing & I look forward to seeing you at Streetlight Guild! **WHAT SHOULD I BRING?** Whatever you need to be able to write! But Streetlight Guild does have free WiFi! Yay! * **PARKING:** There is free public parking at Streetlight Guild.
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games! The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime! Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!

Feel Good Friday: POWER BALLAD at the Gateway Film Center + SHAKE NO. 8!
Join us as we get together to see Paul Rudd in the latest comedy-drama-musical from John Carney, POWER BALLAD! The film follows a washed-up wedding singer, a fading boy band singer and a stolen hit song. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event: DESCRIPTION: Rick, a washed-up wedding singer, and Danny, a fading boy band star, bond over music and a late-night jam session. When Danny turns Rick's song into a hit, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves. Power Ballad is written/directed by John Carney, the master of the modern musical and creative mind behind Once, Begin Again and Sing Street! It stars Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu and Jack Reynor. BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film premiered to rave reviews at this year’s Dublin International Film Festival where critics call it “a sure-fired crowd-pleaser” that “just might be the feel-good hit of the year!” Others say, “Paul Rudd delivers a career-best performance in this charmer” that’s both “hilarious and deeply moving!” SUMMER OF ICE CREAM, VOL 2: SHAKE NO. 8!
