We will play bowling and have snacks, and free shots for everyone in your lane if… you throw a strike on the right moment in the game.
Pls be aware - paid event - read all information!
I reserved 10 lanes for 2 hrs, so we play from 22.00 - 00.00.
Since I have to pay in advance I ask everyone that joins to pay their part as well in advance.
If you join the list for this event, please transfer 20 euros when I sent you the tikkie or make someone on the waiting list happy by giving your spot to him or her.
I will sent a tikkie or publish it in the comments. Your spot is only confirmed after payment. No pay. No play.
Please note that there is no refund for cancellation, since I have reserved bowlinglanes and have to pay full price wheter we are with 10 people or 3 people.
In case you can't make it, I suggest you find someone to take your spot and he or she pays you the money back. If someone on the waiting list takes your spot then a refund is possible. If someone takes your place, pls let me know in advance.
Pls be on time. We start bowling at 10 pm sharp. So be there at least 30 minutes early since u need to change shoes and maybe want to get a drink at the bar.
After the bowling we usually go to a café in the city for drinks but if u feel like going home this is ofcourse also okay.
Metalheads Chat n' Drinks
Let's meet up for a round of beers and snacks as usual. Starts at 20.00ish. The place isn’t big so we should be easy to find. The reservation is under Marieke and I have red hair so I’m easy to spot👩🏻🦰 See you soon!❤️

All ages and stages of family welcome!
Happy Pride!
***Caring Community Agreements:***
*Kinship Commons gatherings are BIPOC centered, queer-affirming, family-friendly, community spaces built around care, mutual respect, and shared responsibility for the space.*
*Many people who come to these spaces are navigating stress, burnout, grief, trauma, parenting, isolation, or major life transitions. We try to create spaces where people can arrive as they are, without needing to perform or explain themselves.*
**Consent:**
Please ask before hugging, touching, picking up children, taking photos, or sharing someone else’s story. No is a complete sentence.
**Children:**
Children are welcome in this space and are at the center of our ecosystem. We understand that children make noise, move around, and have big feelings - these are all normal ways to be a growing human. Adults are responsible for their own children, and as a community, we approach all children with patience and care rather than discipline or correction unless safety is involved. At one of our events, if you see a caregiver on their own with children that needs support, please offer a helping hand.
**Photos and Social Media:**
Please ask before taking photos that include other people or their children. Not everyone is safe being online.
**Stepping Away:**
You are always welcome to step outside, sit quietly, leave early, arrive late, or take space. You do not need to explain.
**Food:**
We come from many cultures and backgrounds where food is often the centerpiece of connection in community space. If food is shared, please label common allergens. People are welcome to bring their own separate food if they have dietary needs.
**Access:**
We try to choose spaces that are close to public transport + parking, accessible for strollers, mobility aids, and different body needs when possible. If you have a specific access need, please reach out ahead of time so we can meet your needs.
**Conflict and Harm:**
Community spaces are not perfect and misunderstandings happen. We approach conflict slowly, with conversation, curiosity and care, rather than public calling out or shaming. Accountability and repair are part of community.
**Shared Responsibility:**
This space exists because people help make it exist. This might look like helping set up, cleaning up, bringing snacks, sharing skills, checking in on someone, or simply showing up regularly.
You are welcome here whether you are outgoing or quiet, whether you know many people or no one, whether you come once a year or every week. There are many ways to belong to a community.

Brick Lane by Monica Ali
After an arranged marriage to Chanu, a man twenty years older, Nazneen is taken to London, leaving her home and heart in the Bangladeshi village where she was born. Her new world is full of mysteries. How can she cross the road without being hit by a car (an operation akin to dodging raindrops in the monsoon)? What is the secret of her bullying neighbour Mrs Islam? What is a Hell's Angel? And how must she comfort the naive and disillusioned Chanu?
As a good Muslim girl, Nazneen struggles to not question why things happen. She submits, as she must, to Fate and devotes herself to her husband and daughters. Yet to her amazement, she begins an affair with a handsome young radical, and her erotic awakening throws her old certainties into chaos.
Monica Ali's splendid novel is about journeys both external and internal, where the marvelous and the terrifying spiral together.

Drunken Philosophy: Where Is Everybody? The Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter
Welcome to Drunken Philosophy, a casual, curious, social discussion club. Come grab a drink and a seat at The Oracle.
**Optional topic for this meetup: Where is everybody?**
In 1950 the physicist Enrico Fermi was talking about aliens over lunch and asked a question that still has not gone away: if the universe is so vast and so old, and even a fraction of those billions of stars have planets, where is everyone? By the numbers the galaxy should be crowded with civilizations. Instead we look up and hear silence. That gap between "they should be everywhere" and "we see no one" is the Fermi Paradox.
One of the most unsettling answers is the idea of a **Great Filter**: somewhere on the road from dead chemistry to a galaxy-spanning civilization, there is at least one step that is almost impossible to get past. Maybe the filter is behind us. Maybe life starting at all, or simple cells becoming complex, or intelligence ever evolving, is the freak accident, and we already cleared the hard part. Or maybe the filter is ahead of us, and advanced civilizations reliably wipe themselves out before they spread.
Here is the part that messes with people. If we ever found life somewhere else, even pond scum on Mars, most people would call it the greatest discovery in history. But it might be the worst possible news. It would mean life is common, the early steps are easy, and the hard step is still in front of us. So the eerie silence overhead might actually be the best sign we could ask for.
**Questions to wrestle with:**
* Is it better to be alone? Would you rather we find alien life and learn we are not special, or find nothing and quietly improve our odds of surviving?
* Where do you bet the filter sits, behind us or ahead of us, and why?
* If it is ahead of us, what is it? Nuclear war, climate collapse, AI, something we cannot even picture yet? And can we do anything about a filter we cannot see coming?
* Two principles pull opposite ways here. The principle of mediocrity (the Copernican principle, Sagan's "no privileged place in the universe") says we are ordinary, so what happened on Earth probably happened everywhere, which makes the silence scream louder. The anthropic principle says of course we find ourselves somewhere life was possible, since we could not observe anything else, so our being here may say almost nothing about how common life is. Which lens do you trust, and does the silence still demand an answer once you account for observer selection?
* And if we did confirm life out there and had to accept we are not special, what would that do to belief in a higher power, and would shedding (or keeping) that belief help or hurt our odds of pulling together as one species?
* Does any of this change how you live, or how humanity should be spending its time and money right now?
As always the prompt is optional. Come for the conversation, stay for the drinks, and bring your own questions.
Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships.
Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship.
Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action?
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships!
Break free from self imposed limitations
Here we will discuss:
• How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes.
• Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you?
• Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it?
• Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love?
• Fights & arguments - what's really behind them?
• What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others?
• How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change?
• Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them?
• How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about?
• How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career?
Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general.
Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person.
Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life.
We look forward to having you join us!
This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.

The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
