PBerg engineers - monthly meetup
PBerg engineers - monthly meetup
**This is 100% non-profit. The 15€ sign up fee for everyone is only to minimize last-minute cancellations. The total sum goes to a bar-tap that everyone can use to order drinks until the amount is used up. ‼️NO REFUNDS‼️** **‼️Please don't just show up without RSVPing here and paying the 15€. We have a separate room that has limited capacity and a specific drinks agreement with the bar - so splitting up the bill won't become a mess.‼️** **Small update on how your money get's used from May 2024 onwards:** As of this month, meetup.com has started charging me 34€ instead of 16€ per month. I've decided to distribute this fee evenly among all us participants every month. Example: In the last 12 meetups, the average number of attendees was 17. With 17 attendees I would effectively collect 230€ (after fees). I would now substract 34€ leaving us with 196€ that go to the bar. 15% get's tipped to the wait staff, in this case 30€, leaving us with 166€ effectively to order drinks. Hope everyone is cool with this system. :) Website: https://www.pberg-engineers.me WhatsApp groups: Please come and join us on WhatsApp! \- "PBerg Engineers \- NEWS" \- Only organizers can post announcements or polls \-\> https://chat\.whatsapp\.com/EqMJMmlCZO6LOOfAoG4yTj \- "PBerg Engineers \- DISCUSS" \- Everyone can post \-\> https://chat\.whatsapp\.com/LPuo76J83gF6IZMLUcM4u2 Please join those groups now if you're interested. :) All skill/education-levels welcome! :) Lightning Talks: \- TBD We'll also have a brief "Jobs: Lost & Found section". **Location:** From the street you will have to enter the right hand Cafe Chagall (yes, there are 2). Then, you go upstairs and our private room is in the far end corner of the building. We are a relaxed, non-formal meetup of like-minded software engineers who want to always keep learning and want to meet in physical reality over a drink or two. Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin is home to some of the most talented software engineers in the world, and every month, they come together for an exciting knowledge sharing meetup. This meetup is a chance for attendees to learn from each other, share their experiences, and gain new insights into the world of software engineering. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and the discussions are always engaging and thought-provoking. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just starting out in your career, you'll find something valuable at this meetup. Ultimate Frisbee in the Park - sunset sparkle
Ultimate Frisbee in the Park - sunset sparkle
Hi everyone. We'll meet and play a relaxed game of ultimate in Volkspark Rehberge if the weather cooperates. Our games focus on having great team play, where the teams work together to advance the disk down the field. It's more important to work well together as a team than have a few star players get a point with lucky shots. For this reason, players of all skill levels (especially those who have never played) are welcome to join Bring plenty of water, shoes you can run in and comfortable clothing that can get a bit dirty. Although we're an established group, newcomers are always welcome. After the game we try to spend some time together and have fun. Finding us: We meet in this big grassy area, it's a short bike ride from the subway stop Rehberge on the U6 or Amrumer Strasse on the U9. It can be a bit tricky to find the first time, so we've got a few methods to help out (don't trust the meetup map pin, it often shows some point in the park, not the exact spot where we are) 1. GPS: 52°32'54.9"N 13°19'51.0"E ; 52.548581, 13.330842 2. Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/xbZgaXzMSMt 3. the helpful picture here https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/2/8/8/f/highres_451930383.jpeg *This event may also be photographed and/or video-recorded, and published on social media channels such as meetup and eventbrite.* *By participating, you acknowledge and accept the risk of injury while playing Ultimate. Although adherence to the rules, proper equipment, and common sense reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and, you willingly and freely assume all such risks.*

Pirate Borg: Trapped in the Tropics
Pirate Borg: Trapped in the Tropics
You were hired by Spaniard Captain de Ordaz (who's accompanied by the somewhat creepy Mother Iris) to learn about the fate of a previous expedition and recover its treasures. After getting stranded on a British controlled island, you acquired a sloop you set sail for St Martin's and have recovered both halves of the treasure map. This is an ongoing campaign but we have space for 1 or 2 folks to drop in either just for this session or perhaps for more. Diverse group, laughs over maths, beginner friendly. Blood on the Clocktower at Manifesto! (beginner/intermediate)
Blood on the Clocktower at Manifesto! (beginner/intermediate)
Hi folks, this is the meetup group for the weekly Sunday Blood on the Clocktower games in the Soot bar in Manifesto at Potsdamer Platz. We run beginner-friendly and intermediate-level games throughout the afternoon and evening. **Friendly newcomers of all skill levels are welcome, no experience required!** Our group aims to provide a fun and welcoming space to experience this thrilling game of social deception. **We focus on promoting a positive and fun group atmosphere, where players don’t take themselves or the game too seriously, whether they’re heroically winning or spectacularly losing.** Our players follow the code of conduct for the Berlin Board Gamers group and are expected to treat each other with respect and consideration – “killing with grace, and dying with dignity”. We are usually able to offer two simultaneous games on Sundays. If you are marked as "attending" in Meetup and are in your seat at 15:00, your place is guaranteed for as long as you want to stay. All other seats are first come, first served. We always run at least one beginner-friendly game of the basic version of Clocktower ("Trouble Brewing") throughout the afternoon and evening. We also usually have enough players for a second intermediate-level game. If you are already very familiar with Clocktower, consider also joining our Tuesday meetup for advanced players, when we play with complex custom scripts and characters. Blood on the Clocktower is a deep, mechanical game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception… think Werewolf on steroids. Each player receives a unique secret role and plays either for the good team – the uninformed majority, gathering info and working with others to solve the puzzle – or the evil team, the informed minority, scheming to eliminate good players and protect their demon from execution. In our beginner games no prior experience is expected and we will gladly explain the game rules to any newcomers. We play in English so players should be able to understand and express themselves in English: an exception is possible for one pair of players willing to play together (as a “Revolutionary” pair) where one player can interpret into and out of English. Please let us know in advance if this is the case. We are very grateful to the wonderful folks at Manifesto for hosting our meetup! **Please support the venue during your visit by buying drinks and/or food.**
Neurodivergent Workshop with Futurium: What the future holds
Neurodivergent Workshop with Futurium: What the future holds
This interactive workshop offers participants a unique opportunity to actively engage with and reflect upon the possibilities of tomorrow. **Organized in collaboration with [Futurium](https://futurium.de/en)**[,](https://futurium.de/en) the session is designed to be participatory, blending reflection, discussion, and creative hands-on activities. **Location:** **[Futurium](https://maps.app.goo.gl/uqRAq7npeFKubvbu5)**, see the workshop room on the map attached in this event. 📸 We will be documenting the event. However, we will fully anonymize all participants by covering faces with stickers in the final media. If you’d prefer not to be in any shot at all, you are welcome to step away briefly during those moments. **What to expect:** * **Introduction (approx. 20 minutes)** We begin with a journey into the past—examining historical postcards from the 19th and early 20th centuries that depict imagined futures. Participants are invited to explore and discuss these images together, considering what feels surprising, what turned out to be accurate, and how past visions compare to the technologies we know today. **Optionally,** we will also screen a short video featuring young people from 1966 sharing their predictions for the year 2000—offering an additional prompt for reflecting on how future visions are shaped by their historical and cultural context. * **Interactive Exchange (approx. 20 minutes)** Next, participants take part in a guided “opinion swap” exercise using prompt cards. This dynamic format encourages movement, discussion, and the exchange of diverse perspectives within the group—making space for a wide range of voices and viewpoints. * **Creative Activity (approx. 20 minutes)** To close, the group will collaborate on designing an “object from the future.” This hands-on exercise invites participants to imagine possible developments and express their ideas creatively—turning abstract speculation into tangible, shared visions. **About the Organizers:** This workshop is organized by[ Futurium](https://futurium.de/en) in collaboration with the Berlin Neurodivergent Community. Please keep in mind that all of berlin neurodivegrent community organizers are neurodivergent volunteers who contribute their time, energy, and resources to make this event possible. We kindly ask for your patience, kindness, and mutual respect throughout the session—we are here to learn, share, and create together in a supportive environment. We look forward to welcoming you and exploring the future—together!
