Tips, tricks and apps for traveling in China
Tips, tricks and apps for traveling in China
**tl;dr** Share useful tips, tricks, and tech for smooth travels in China. **Logistics** * Where: 7:30–8:50 PM, Bugis NLB Library, Programme Room 1 (basement) * After: Discussion continues until last train/bus at the Bras Basah Building food court next door * Optional: Join our Telegram for reminders: [https://t.me/+7TNAbjU60PVjOTE1](https://t.me/+7TNAbjU60PVjOTE1) (very low volume — used only for reminders and online meetup links) **More** Looks like everyone's heading to China these days. Let's connect with friends who travel there regularly. We'll ask them to share travel hacks, tips, and useful technologies (VPNs, e-payments, AI apps) they rely on while travelling in China. Come along to ask questions or share your own tips and stories. **Agenda** * 7:30–7:40: Quick intro — share your name (or initials/nickname) and your travel experience in China. No worries if you haven't been yet, just tell us where you'd like to go. * 7:40–8:00: Share one photo from your China travels and tell us about it. Could be anything — an interesting person you met, a dish, a gadget, scenery, a shop, etc. * 8:00–8:10: Which AI apps are good for looking up information while in China? Rebekah will compare her experience using DeepSeek vs. ChatGPT for trip planning. * 8:10–8:25: Discuss other China travel tech hacks — VPNs, eSIMs, payment apps. * 8:25–8:50: Your questions about traveling in China. At 8:50, we'll move to the Bras Basah food court to keep chatting about other things — for example, current trends in China (great conversation starters when meeting locals) and what "China-maxxing" actually means. What are the best cities beyond the usual tourist spots? Where can you connect with everyday locals in China? Note: We will no longer livestream these meetups, but we'll continue running separate online sessions.
Spec Coding & Agentic Engineering with Claude Code - Hands-on Workshop
Spec Coding & Agentic Engineering with Claude Code - Hands-on Workshop
Join us for an exclusive in-person hands-on workshop on 24 June in in Singapore to elevate your software development practice using Agentic Spec Coding with Claude Code. ### **What is this Workshop?** This is a **5-hour, hands-on workshop** on **Spec Coding** and **Agentic Engineering** using **Claude Code** — held in-person in Singapore's CBD on **24 June 2025, 1pm–6pm**. If you've been experimenting with AI coding tools, vibe coding, or copy-pasting prompts into ChatGPT or Claude — and wondering why your projects break the moment you try to scale — this workshop is built for you. You'll learn the exact methodology that separates developers who build reliable, AI-powered software from those stuck in an endless loop of fixing hallucinated code. **Seats are strictly limited to 20 participants.** ### **What is Spec Coding?** Spec Coding is a structured, specification-driven approach to AI-assisted software development. Instead of casually prompting an AI and hoping for the best (vibe coding), you write clear **functional blueprints** that guide Claude Code — or any AI coding agent — to produce consistent, scalable, and maintainable output. Spec Coding is the foundation of **Agentic Engineering**: directing teams of automated AI agents to write, test, and fix code as a coordinated pipeline — not as a one-shot prompt. This workshop teaches you both. ### **What you'll learn (workshop Agenda)** **1\. Moving Beyond Random "Vibe Coding"** Understand why copy-pasting prompts fails at scale and what separates vibe coding from a repeatable engineering process. You'll leave with a mental model that changes how you interact with AI development tools forever. **2\. Writing Clear App Blueprints** Master the art of writing functional specifications — structured documents that tell Claude Code exactly what to build, how to handle edge cases, and what the expected outputs are. This is the core skill that unlocks reliable AI-generated code. **3\. Building Your Live Portfolio Website** Apply spec coding in real time to deploy a personal portfolio website. You will write the spec, run it through Claude Code, iterate, and publish — all within the session. **4\. Building a Smart Mini\-CRM App** Level up by tackling complex application state and data persistence. You'll build a functional mini-CRM app, confronting the exact challenges that trip up most AI-assisted development projects — and solving them systematically. **5\. Working with AI Developer Teams** Go beyond single-agent prompting. Learn how to direct multiple automated AI agents to write different parts of your codebase in parallel — the way professional agentic engineers work. **6\. Running Test\-Driven AI Pipelines** Learn agentic engineering techniques to automatically test, identify bugs, and trigger fix cycles — without manual intervention. This is how you ship software that actually works. ### **Who should attend?** This workshop is designed for: * **Startup founders** who want to ship products faster without a large engineering team * **Seasoned developers** looking to multiply their output using AI coding agents * **Software engineering leaders** exploring agentic workflows and AI-native development * **Product managers** who want to build and prototype without being blocked by developers * **Students and early-career technologists** who want to be AI-native engineers from day one **No advanced coding background required** — but participants should come prepared to build. All participants are expected to have an active **Claude Code subscription**. ### **Instructor: Santosh Rout** **Santosh Rout** is the founder of [navan.ai](https://navan.ai/ "https://navan.ai") and Saaragh, with over **25 years of experience** in the IT and AI industry. He is the creator of **[sam.navan.ai](https://sam.navan.ai/ "https://sam.navan.ai")** — a leading Agentic Spec Coding platform — and has helped countless founders and engineering teams bridge the gap between complex product ideas and working, scalable software. Santosh's expertise sits at the intersection of **agentic workflows**, **specification-driven development**, and **production AI systems**. He has built multiple successful AI products and brings hard-won, practitioner-level knowledge to every session. ### **What past participants have built?** After attending navan.ai's spec coding and agentic engineering workshops, participants have gone on to build: * **A Peer-to-Peer Delivery Platform** — allowing travellers to list journeys and get paid to carry parcels along their route * **An EdTech Platform for Extra-Curricular Tracking** — helping students record and measure the impact of volunteering and extracurricular activities * **An AI-Powered CCTV Planning Tool** — where users upload floor plans and the system automatically suggests optimal camera placements and generates real-time quotes These are not toy projects. These are production-grade apps built by non-engineers using spec coding. ### **What a past participant said** *"Thank you for taking the time to conduct the session on Agentic Spec Coding. The discussion gave me a much better understanding of the concepts and practical approach involved. I especially found the insights very helpful. I look forward to applying what I learned and continuing to improve my skills in this area."* — **Anitha P**, Virtual Participant. **View snapshots of our previous workshops, bootcamps, and hackathons: [https://asca.navan.ai/gallery/](https://asca.navan.ai/gallery/ "https://asca.navan.ai/gallery/")** ### **Event details** **Date:** Wednesday, 24 June 2025 **Time:** 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM SGT **Format:** In-person, hands-on workshop **Location:** **CBD / Central Business District, Singapore *(exact venue will be shared with registered participants in a few days)*** **Seats:** Limited to 20 participants **Prerequisite:** Active Claude Code subscription **Fee:** SGD 200 (20% discount available for group registrations of 4 or more together) **Organiser:** [Navan.ai](https://navan.ai/ "https://navan.ai") ### **Register here: [https://luma.com/ly7pzcdr](https://luma.com/ly7pzcdr)** ### **Frequently asked questions** **Do I need to be a developer to attend?** Not necessarily. The workshop is designed for founders, PMs, and builders — not just developers. A basic comfort with technology helps, but the methodology is accessible to anyone willing to engage actively. **What do I need to bring?** Your laptop and an active Claude Code subscription. Come ready to build. **Why is this better than just watching YouTube tutorials on Claude Code?** Tutorials show you what's possible. This workshop gives you a repeatable system — spec coding methodology — that you can apply to any project, of any complexity, without breaking things the moment requirements change. **What makes spec coding different from vibe coding?** Vibe coding is ad-hoc: you describe what you want loosely and hope the AI figures it out. Spec coding is structured: you write a functional blueprint that the AI executes deterministically. The output is modular, maintainable, and won't collapse when you need to iterate. **Is this workshop specific to Claude Code?** The hands-on work uses Claude Code, and participants will need a Claude Code subscription. However, the spec coding methodology taught is platform-agnostic — it applies to any AI coding agent. *Organised by [navan.ai](https://navan.ai/ "https://navan.ai") — the agentic spec coding platform powering the next generation of AI-native builders.* *Got questions? Reach us on connect@navan.ai or call us on (+65) 8608 9171.*

Party of Fives: Boardgames Beyond on Sundays
Party of Fives: Boardgames Beyond on Sundays
Welcome to the Party of Fives Meetups! If you are a gamer who wants to go beyond the usual PARTY gaming fare at boardgame meetups and cafes, this is it! We don't usually play Cards against Humanity, Exploding Kittens and Unstable Unicorns. That's just us. Make us play if you can. We will be playing an assortment of board games ranging from light strategic kinds to heavy thematic ones. Games we usually play range from light ones like Azul, Splendor, Jamaica to medium ones like Yokohama, Endeavor and Nippon and of course heavy ones like Twilight Imperium, Gloomhaven, Tainted Grail and Kingdom Death Monster! Do not be surprised if you see us painting miniatures or are engaged in some sort of insanely time-consuming enhancements towards our game elements in our games. Everyone get their kick in different ways. :) Painting groups are also in their groups of fives ... For the game designers out there, just tell us that you are a creator when you see us and we will have our own private creative sessions mapped out in a feasible way. Most others don't care so we should not disturb the force unnecessarily. We will contact you when you sign up and place you into appropriate messaging groups with different needs to facilitate further communication. Total noobs are totally welcome! While we don't serve food ourselves, we are smack right in the middle of the legendary Golden Mile premises with an huge range of eateries from super curry puffs, loud Japanese izakaya food, heavenly chicken rice with steamboat, hellish black burgers and authentic Thai food that is just sick. All within a pebble's throw away. Tea and dinner sessions (at our own expenses) usually follow the gaming sessions according to our designated groups. Due to the current Covid-19 and social distancing restrictions, you are not allowed to join us for these food consuming sessions only. For your understanding, please If you have something specific in mind, do a shout out below and we see if we can help within reasonable grounds. There will be a charge of SGD $15 (ARENA: $15), (HEAVY/CAMPAIGN GAMES: $25) collected at the door (in cash) to help with the running of the event. How to sign up for our sessions: • Join the Singapore Manga Anime Games & Cosplay Assembly as a member. • RSVP below and retain a screenshot of your RSVP as proof. • Note that without proof of RSVP you will not be allowed into the premises. • Note that those who sign up but do not show up will not be allowed to sign up for future Party of Five sessions. • Note that RSVP closes 6 hours before the event takes place. For those who will like to form groups to play other games, feel free to shout out your intentions at the comments section below: Note that there won’t be any game masters around to help you with your games on site. CMG Gives Back: Serve Dinner at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
CMG Gives Back: Serve Dinner at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. NOTE: We’re switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details: IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to those volunteering at this (or any of our previous or future) CMG Gives Back events! Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
