Birdsong Mindfulness Walks every Sunday
What if your weekend didn’t rush you, but softened you?
This gentle, nature-based mindfulness walk is an invitation to slow down, listen to birdsong instead of notifications, and reconnect with yourself through simple presence. No experience needed, just comfortable shoes and a willingness to be here.
**Birdsong Mindfulness Walks 🐦 🌿**
* Slow, nature-based mindfulness in Barcelona
* Slow, mindful meditation walk (not fitness or hiking).
* Birdsong as a mindfulness anchor (not birdwatching).
* **[Join our Whatsapp group for walk updates](https://chat.whatsapp.com/GaajU297K67G1kyz2fy1pz)**
Join a slow, mostly silent walk through the Montjuïc area, guided by birdsong, breath, and gentle presence.
This is an invitation to step out of the rush of everyday life and reconnect with your body, your senses, and the natural world around you.
Just walking, listening, and being here.
**What we’ll do ✨**
* We begin with a short, gentle grounding practice.
* We walk at a slow, mindful pace (intentionally slower than a usual walk).
* We use birdsong and natural sounds as anchors for awareness.
* We pause at times to listen, sense, or simply be still.
* We close with a few moments of shared stillness.
**A note on birds 🐦**
* This is not a birdwatching walk, though we use birdsong as a meditation anchor.
* If you’re curious, I’m always happy to chat after the walk about birds we noticed by sight or sound. We hold a monthly gathering for amateur birdwatching.
**Language 🗣**
* Guided talks and meditations are currently offered in English.
* I’m learning Spanish and Catalan and hope to offer guided practices in those languages in the future.
**Group size 👥**
* We began with very small, intimate groups due to individual Reiki sessions. As interest has grown, more spots are opening and the structure is kept simple so we can walk together more spaciously.
* Returning walkers may occasionally join beyond the usual number, as they are already familiar with the pace and nature of the practice.
💛 If you’ve joined before and would like to come again, please join the waitlist or message me directly. I’ll happily mark you as going.
**About the practice 💛**
I’m a mindfulness teacher in training, and part of this journey includes learning through practice. You may be gently invited to share feedback to help me grow as a facilitator.
If any mindfulness teacher trainees would like to co-lead or guide a future walk, feel free to reach out. I’d love to share the space.
**Cost 🌿**
* These walks are currently offered for free as a way of giving back.
* Donations are welcome to help cover Meetup costs and keep the walks accessible: [https://www.hereaware.com/donate](https://www.hereaware.com/donate)
**Weather 🌧**
* Light rain can be part of the experience. Routes are chosen with mostly concrete paths, often around Jardins de Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer.
* In case of heavy rain, strong wind, or storm alerts, the walk will be cancelled for safety reasons.
**Location and confirmation 📍**
* The walk takes place in the Montjuïc area.
* The exact meeting point pin will be shared via private comments or via Whatsapp once you’ve RSVP’d, a couple of days before the walk.
* Please confirm your attendance by sending a WhatsApp message to:📲 +34 722 692 960

**Please read 🎶**
* We begin the grounding at the start time, with a 5-minute grace period.
* Please arrive a little early to settle in comfortably.
* If you’ll be late, text me at least 15 minutes in advance and I’ll share a live location pin.
* If you arrive during the grounding or while we’re walking, you’re welcome to join quietly.
* Phones will be invited onto silent mode during the walk.
**Consent and phones 🎧**
The only consent I’ll ask for is for audio recording (for my mindfulness teacher training). I won’t take photos during the walk. You’re welcome to take photos after, and I gently invite minimal phone use during the experience.
Thank you for helping keep the space calm, respectful, and spacious for everyone 🌿

Route 5 (NEW) - Street Photography Workshop / Taller de Fotografía de Calle
ENGLISH
(Spanish below! PS, please let me know if you cannot view the event pricing!)
* First, we will meet, greet and go over the route map and objectives for about 15 minutes. There will be a basic talk about things to look for and specific things to shoot for each objective.
* We will go over the map and then spend time walking the route stopping and shooting in each area. We will be walking for a total of about 2-2.5 hours. The main focus of the workshop is to learn about and gain more confidence shooting street photography with the bonus of exploring and seeing some interesting spots around Barcelona.
* Once we're finished the route we will meet at a cafe (if we want!) to speak about the objectives, answer any questions and close with any comments or remarks.
* In total we will spend about 2.5 hours in this street photography workshop.
Other things to note
* You should know the basics of photography and how your camera works. We'll discuss street photography techniques, not learning how to use cameras.
* Bring the min amount of things required for a few hours of shooting. (ie. camera and a few € for food etc, thieves are a real problem everywhere).
* PLEASE BRING >> POSITIVE VIBES :)
***
* Debes conocer los fundamentos de la fotografía y el funcionamiento de tu cámara. Hablaremos de técnicas de fotografía callejera, no de aprender a usar las cámaras.
* Trae la cantidad mínima de cosas necesarias para unas horas de fotografía. (es decir, cámara y algunos euros para comida, etc., los ladrones son un verdadero problema en todas partes).
* ¡¡POR FAVOR TRAIGA >> VIBRAS POSITIVAS :)
NOTA: ¡Mi español es tan, tan, no increíble pero puedo explicar las cosas en español si es necesario! :)
(Note: My Spanish is so so, not amazing but I would be happy to explain things in Spanish if needed!)

Celebrate National Chip and Dip Day!
***Okay, call me crazy but you have got to try their chip n dip!*** Club 85 is a true hidden gem in German Village! Seriously, old school, good comfort food and drink. We will try to gather in spaces near the windows. While we'll share Chip n Dip, you'll want to order a sandwich, too.
**Where the Chip Began (1817)**
Potato chips can be traced back to an English chef, William Kitchiner, who includes ‘crisps’ in his bestselling cookbook, “The Cook’s Oracle.”
**Chip and Dip Popularity**
The popularity of chip and dip skyrockets at the end of World War II with new entertainment fads and the introduction of Lipton’s new advertising campaign for their famous French Onion Dip. (Club 185 doesn't openly admit it, but I'm pretty sure that's their dip recipe!)
**[Club 185](http://club185.com/)**—a true neighborhood bar serving since 1954, when it was known as a local 'speak-easy'. Located in German Village, Club 185 features a menu of quality casual comfort food and full bar. From politicians to lawyers, hardhats to hipsters—all find Club 185 the perfect place to tame their hunger and quench their thirst!
**PARKING**: I know, brick street parallel parking can be a pain. Two other choices, metered parking along Livingston heading towards Children's Hospital or across the street in the large church lot (park in spaces farthest away from the church entrance doors, closer to the street).
**PRE-EVENT**: **HAPPY HOUR (3-5pm)**: Italian drinks and bites at [Cento's happy hour](https://centogermanvillage.com/menus/), nearby.

This group has been meeting every Tuesday evening for over a decade. Many attendees do not RSVP on meetup. Please don't let the small number here discourage you. Anyone/everyone is welcome to come. We'd love to have you join us.
COTA bus #5 comes to W. 5th and Wyandotte Rd. And it's a minute walk to the restaurant.
