TOG will be open on Tuesday evenings from 19:00 to 21:30 for a general Open House event. Expect to find members and visitors in the space up to all sorts of activities. It's a great time to drop in and see what the space is about. If you're an artist, tinkerer, maker or just plain curious, come in and see what the space is about. Maybe you already have something to work on (or want to), have something to fix, create, design, bodge or tinker... drop in. We're also open for just for plain old social chat and hang out, with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. We have lots of free parking right outside our door.

For our next Tog Science Fiction Book Club, we’ll be reading ***Rakesfall* by Vajra Chandrasekera**. Join us **in person** on **Tuesday, June 23rd at 7:30 pm** at **Tog Hackerspace** for an evening of science fiction discussion, ideas, and good company. *Vajra Chandrasekera’s* work is known for being imaginative, layered, and full of big themes, so this should give us plenty to talk about on the night. A lovely session of music and song in a relaxed and supportive environment. All levels of musician and singer welcome. You can come and sing or play one song or just come and listen to the other members. Great way to build up your playing skills and build up your confidence. We don't pay the bar for this session, so make sure you buy at least one drink. Charge €2.

CLASS CONTENT: Learn to use a sewing machine (maybe bring your own along if you wish to gain confidence in using it) Make a cute cotton tote bag (or your own project) / have some fun / meet like minded new friends and learn a new skill / craft. Progress to make a simple piece of clothing! This is the **first meetup** of our AI video generation group, and we are keeping it small and hands-on. We will have **4 laptops** set up and ready to go: * one for demos. * one for guided tutorials. * and one for you to practice on yourself. With only **8 people** in the room, there's plenty of time to ask questions, try things out, and actually get into the tools rather than just watch someone else use them. **What we will cover:** * A walkthrough of AI video generation tools including ComfyUI, Higgsfield, and Kling AI. * Hands-on practice time at the workstations. * Open discussion > what are you working on, what tools are you curious about? No experience needed. If you have never touched any of these tools before, that's completely fine: that's what the tutorial station is for. **A few practicalities:** * Spaces are capped at 8 (2 people per workstation). * €5 attendance fee. * Feel free to bring your own laptop if you have one. **Hands in the Soil: Community Growing, Learning & Craic** This first gathering will be a relaxed mix of **hands-on garden work, shared learning, and good conversation**. It’s about getting together in a real space, doing something practical, and seeing what ideas and connections might grow from there. On the day, we’ll: * Get our **hands dirty** with some light garden work and soil prep * Do some **seed sowing** and talk about what grows well locally * **Make kombucha together** and chat about fermentation, food, and simple home practices * Share knowledge, questions, and experiences around growing food * Enjoy some **fellowship, chats, and a bit of craic** along the way.Alongside the practical side, we’ll also have an open, informal discussion about a bigger idea: * The possibility of **small community “park farms” or gardens** in underused green spaces around Dublin * What that might look like, what’s realistic, and whether others feel drawn to exploring it further There’s no pressure, no expertise required, and no expectation beyond showing up with curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Whether you’re experienced with gardening or completely new, you’re very welcome. Bring clothes you don’t mind getting muddy, and if you have them, gloves. Everything else will be very low-key. This is just a **first step** — a chance to meet, work, talk, and see if there’s a shared appetite to keep growing something together.

Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure.
