Meditation and Discussion Group: The Laws of the Universe
Join Stephen Fiyalko, President of the Melbourne Theosophical Society for meditation, self attunement, study and discussion on the Laws of the Universe.
We welcome all to join at 5:30pm for a 30 min Meditation and will begin the discussion group at 6:00pm. For those who prefer to just attend the discussion group you're welcome to arrive at 6pm.
An understanding of and action within the Laws through our choices give practical tools for facing, managing and surmounting with confidence the many challenges we face in our daily lives, in society and the world itself. Ignorance of the Laws can leave us adrift to be buffeted and feel overwhelmed by stormy seas.
Each week will look at one of the twelve Laws which are principles, not rules, seeking a deeper understanding of that Law, our and their inter-relationship with the other Laws.
Discussion will involve sharing stories from our lives which contribute to a growing understanding and confidence in our lives.
Each session is free, but donations are welcome.

Sunday Bus: Coliban Aqueduct and Fryers Ridge - 13km and 16km - 14 June
**WALK DESCRIPTION:**
This walk is mainly along the Coliban water channel just to the west of the small town of Taradale, which is now bypassed by the Calder Freeway. First opened in 1877 this water supply system has been delivering water to Castlemaine and Bendigo for more than 140 years. The standard of the stonework and brickwork is very high and has stood the test of time.
The Easy group walks most of their length beside the aqueduct. The track here is largely a wide, gently undulant fine gravel and dirt track, at times slightly rocky, but with no steep sections or any with steep drop-offs and is generally easy walking. However this group leaves the aqueduct several times and here the track here is narrower and has a few short steep sections but again with no drop-offs and again is also easy walking.
The Easy/Med group for most of their route duplicates the Easy path however ventures away from the aqueduct for the last 4 km, first through forest with no defined track for about 1 km. Here the forest is quite open with minimal underbrush and headway is quite easy. After this we walk on unmade roads and bush tracks before meeting the Easy group at the end. In this section there are one or two steep sections of several hundred metres.
Please carry at least 2 litres of water and bring a change of shoes for the trip back.
.
**DISTANCE(S):** 13km and 16km
.
**TOTAL ASCENT(S):** 75m Rise and 300m Rise
.
**GRADINGS:** Easy and Easy/Medium
**Easy (E):** Walking mostly on tracks or in open country, with possibly some stretches of light scrub. Few hills and adequate rest stops. Distances may be up to 15km in flat open terrain but will be shorter if scrub or significant hills are involved.
**Easy/Medium (E/M):** More consistent walking, mostly on tracks or in open country, but with some significant hills, probably some stretches of light scrub. Possibility of some rock hopping. Distances up to 19km but may be much shorter depending on the difficulty of the terrain. Reasonable lunch and rest stops.
**.**
**PLEASE NOTE:** Your RSVP on MeetUp lets us know who may be interested but does not add you to the booking list. To register and pay for the walk you must visit our clubrooms (details below). Come join our many members who will also do this walk!

(b) To cancel a Sunday Walk booking before 4pm on the Thursday before the walk, send a note to sunday@mbw.org.au. A credit will be issued for a future walk.

There is no way for them to get back to their transport. We can arrange for a pick-up and drop-off at a designated location along the route closer to Melbourne, however, the full bus fee is still payable since a seat has to be kept free on the bus.
.
**IMPORTANT TO KNOW:** Registration (membership) on Meetup is not the same as paid-up Membership of MBW. To become a paid-up Member with online booking and other benefits see: [https://mbw.org.au/MBW_membership.php](https://mbw.org.au/MBW_membership.php)
.

\*Personal and first aid items, including sun screen, lip screen, toilet paper, identification, Club green Health Card, some money etc. Note: The leader always carries a first aid kit.
\* A change of footwear for the trip back.
.
**DO YOU HAVE COMPREHENSIVE AMBULANCE COVER?** The Club strongly recommends that all participants have comprehensive personal ambulance cover.
.
**MORE DETAILS:**
The visit to the clubrooms on a Wednesday before a walk is to cover three things:
(a) Provide background on the club and ensure all walkers are familiar with the safety and courtesy guidelines we adopt;
(b) Meet with the leader of the walk who will be in the clubrooms to discuss any special features of the walk and ensure that adequate gear and fitness requirements are met.
(c) Sign an Acknowledgement of Risk form and pay the visitor fee (10) and bus fee (30) to reserve a seat on the bus. No booking is accepted until the payment is received.

### **GitOps: Easy Deploy and Even Easier Rollback**
GitOps isn't just for containers. The methodology of deploying from a build is now baked into our culture. Take it a touch farther with infrastructure as code and a few extra techniques, and you can reliably deploy to any platform: cloud, on-prem, container, PaaS, and more. Join us as we learn the methodology of GitOps, the critical pieces you need in place, and the elegance of rollbacks with GitOps. You'll leave with a working repo of deployment techniques that doesn't consume any paid tools or container-specific techniques.
