STORYTELLING WORKSHOP: TRANSFORM WITH STORY
### \*\*\*\* visit ZST workshop [webpage](https://zurichstorytellers.ch/transform-with-story-workshop-mar-14) for total immersion
### STOP OVERTHINKING. START TELLING
Have you ever sat in the audience at a StorySLAM and thought, “I have a story like that, but I have no idea how to tell it”? Or maybe you have the idea, but you just don’t know how to make a 20-minute anecdote fit into an emotionally moving, 5-minute StorySLAM winner.
Storytelling is a skill, not a secret gift. Whether you’re an aspiring newcomer looking to debut at our next StorySLAM, a professional wanting to have more impact in meetings, or a creator explaining your mission—this 3-hour intensive is the roadmap you've been waiting for.
### THE ROADMAP: THE 1-2-3 OF A GREAT STORY
We strip away the jargon and focus on the purpose of you telling your story that actually touches people’s emotions:
1. **CONTEXT** (The Foundation): Setting the scene so we know where we are and who you were before everything changed.
2. **STAKES** (The Why): Why does this matter? What was at risk? Stakes are the tension you wind up that makes an audience lean into your story.
3. **CHANGE** (The Transformation): A story isn’t just a thing that happened; it’s how that thing changed you. We help you find your "Aha!" moment.
### **WHAT YOUR INVESTMENT DELIVERS:**
* **20% Insight** / 80% Practice: We don’t just talk; we help you build, iterate and empower you to tell your story.
* **Memory Mining**: We’ll help you dig for the "silver and gold" experiences, people and places - and shape them into a moving personal story.
* **1-on-1 Coaching:** Direct feedback from Maria and Joel to polish your rough edges - plus reactions of fellow attendees.
* **The Video:** Receive a high-quality video of your performance—perfect for self-review or your personal highlight reel.
**Small Group Alert**: We limit this workshop to 10 spots to ensure everyone gets the "Olympic Coach" treatment.
Don’t let your best stories stay locked away. Come for the camaraderie (and coffee), stay for the transformation. Secure your seat (and your croissant) now!
**Story Workshop Programme**
**10:00 - 11:00 Part 1 - 20% INSIGHT**
* Foundations of storytelling
* A process for story design
* Mining memories for silver and gold
**11:00 - 12:00 Part 2 - 80% PRACTICE**
* First build - drafts with peer participant reviews
* 1:1 coaching with Maria and Joel
* Final drafts - practice round with fellow participants
**12:00 - 12:10 Short drink break**
**12:10 - 13:00 Part 3 - StorySLAM mini-Show**
* Draw names from the story-sorting hat
* Deliver 5-min StorySLAM on stage
* Celebrate! our accomplishments!
**13:00 Wrap up and goodbyes**

Stille am Zürichsee – Mindful Photo Walk
— scroll down for English —
**Was dich erwartet:**

**English**
Lake Zurich offers space, reflections, and quiet movement. On this mindful walk, we meet at a lakeside lido, a place between water, concrete, wood, and memory.
We observe the water: waves, light reflections, subtle structures beneath the surface. We take time for details – peeling paint, traces of summer, empty docks, silent stairs leading into the lake. The contrast between natural movement and still architecture creates powerful visual moments.
**Why join?**
You refine your perception of subtle change and minimal motion. Water becomes a stage for light and time. The abandoned lido offers strong lines, textures, and stories. An inspiring setting for mindful photography or short video sequences – reduced, clear, present.
**What to expect:**
* **Arrival & intention:** A short introduction to focus your attention
* **Observing water:** Discover reflections, transparency, and rhythm
* **Exploring the space:** Experience shapes and structures with awareness
* **Closing circle:** Reflection and exchange by the lake
This walk invites you to make stillness visible – whether with a camera or smartphone.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Daniel
PS: This walk is free, a [donation](https://tscharner.payrexx.com/pay?tid=861b78d0) to cover expenses is very much appreciated.

Bad Girls Book Club March 2026
**Our March pick is *God of the Woods* by Liz Moore.**
**This month’s novel is an award-winning literary mystery that blends family drama with psychological suspense. It explores women’s voices and relationships while delivering an exciting, eerie, and deeply suspenseful story. The book is 576 pages in print or 14 hours and 35 minutes on audiobook.**
Early morning, August 1975: a camp counselor discovers an empty bunk. Its occupant, Barbara Van Laar, has gone missing. Barbara isn’t just any thirteen-year-old: she’s the daughter of the family that owns the summer camp and employs most of the region’s residents. And this isn’t the first time a Van Laar child has disappeared. Barbara’s older brother similarly vanished fourteen years ago, never to be found.
As a panicked search begins, a thrilling drama unfolds. Chasing down the layered secrets of the Van Laar family and the blue-collar community working in its shadow, Moore’s multi-threaded story invites readers into a rich and gripping dynasty of secrets and second chances. It is Liz Moore’s most ambitious and wide-reaching novel yet.

The film is earning a 95% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where critics call it an “old school blockbuster crowd-pleaser” and “a new sci-fi classic!” It’s “deeply hopeful,” well-acted,” funny,” “dramatic,” and “exceptionally rousing throughout!” Others call it “something truly magical” and one that “we’ll be talking about this one for decades to come!” And I believe Slashfilm says it best: “It will lift up and squeeze your heart, crack you up with laughter, and give you a sense of hope and wonder in a way that few movies have been able to inspire.”
