Throughout the week, we’ll study [Bible Project’s “Character of God Word Study”](https://bibleproject.com/videos/collections/character-of-god/) at our own pace & share our thoughts, reflections & questions with one another through a What’s App group.

Haitian Storytelling & Connection** Join us for a special gathering celebrating the Haitian tradition of *krik-krak* \- a vibrant\, call\-and\-response style of storytelling that has been passed down through generations\. Rooted in community and culture\, this tradition begins with a simple exchange \- “Krik?” “Krak\!” \- inviting everyone into a shared space of imagination\, laughter\, and wisdom\. Together, we’ll experience stories, riddles, and memories that reflect everyday life, humor, and the values that connect generations. Historically shared at night in community circles, *krik-krak* brings people together - young and old - to listen, participate, and keep Haitian culture and language alive. It is irresistible, to enjoy a Spanish and Portuguese convo with appetizers, glass of wine and rail drinks. ***GRAB A DRINK AND YOU ARE ALL SET TO FLEX YOUR LANGUAGE CAPACITY. YOU NEED TO GET AT LEAST A DRINK OR FOOD :) To get the event going and show support. We know that you like our events. P.S. : We have non-alcoholic drinks as well.*** We have a tiny venue and we hit capacity often and early arrival is suggested. We have the discretion to decide entry. HOW IT WORKS : We will try to assign tables for each represented languages and will direct attendees to their respective tables accordingly. Rules to abide : 1. Event is free and 21+ (bring ID). 2. Be respectful to your counterparts and give them a chance to exchange with others as well. 3. We all are native speakers of one or two languages and be willing to help others and try to accommodate as much as possible. 4. If you don't speak the other person's required language, LEAVE THEM ALONE. 5. Rude or aggressive members are removed from the group at an organizers discretion. 6. This is a face-to-face language exchange event. DO NOT try to arrange an online meeting, by using the comment box or direct message. 7. Most of our members complained about people writing in the comment box. Since it sends notification to all attendees. If you have any questions, send a message to the organizers. Don't write in the comment box. 8. We have ZERO TOLERANCE for solicitation. We don't allow anyone to run their own agenda at the Event. Age range 10 and up The Anime kids zone is an way for parents whose kids are into anime to meet up with other kids who are into anime. Taking place at Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Library 901 G ST NW Washington, DC 20001 Room 401 on the 4th Floor. Depending on the day the anime kids zone may include the following activities: Video Game Screenings Socializing Trading Anime Collectible Card Gaming and more. Any ideas parents have for the kids zone are welcome Only those 13 and up may become full members of DC Anime Club Parents of the children must stay with them or in the vicinity of their children. (No Leaving your children to come back and pick them up. If you do that child will be asked to not come back due to the parents neglect. ) Members are encourage to wear family friendly cosplay but no weapons ,DC Anime Club Jackets and or DC Anime Club T Shirts. We'll kick the fun off with snacks and crafts for to nibble on make a fun souvenir. Then grab your dancing shoes and join Lunna Gones for a terrific forro class. This presentation will be by Ben Iten, humanist chaplain and HCCO Board Member. Speaking on expressing Humanism values in American democracy. This meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online. The formal presentation will start at noon. Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
