Workers' Bike Time [Cancelled?]
I strongly suspect this recurring event no longer takes place, but I have never received any information about it since I first heard years ago and have never had any enquiry. ======= Blow the cobwebs away and get active at lunch time with a bike ride around Central Park to perk you up for your afternoon's work. Aimed at workers in the area, but all welcome. It may be possible to borrow a bike, by prior arrangement. Contact Nick [dot] Davies [at] lbbd [dot] gov [dot] uk.

Tech Startups in the Pub, Oxford Street - Relaxed Networking
Tech Startups in the Pub, Oxford Street - Relaxed Networking
🍻 Tech Startups in the Pub – Now Twice a Month! 🚀 We’re levelling up! After 3 years of packed evenings in Shoreditch, we’re adding a second monthly event, this time midweek in Oxford Street. That means two chances every month to meet founders, techies, and startup people over drinks. 🎉 👉 What’s New * A **fresh central-London venue**: Simmons Bar, Oxford Street * A new day: **1st Wednesday** of the month * Find one of the hosts to **grab a wristband**, it makes it easy to spot who’s part of the meetup (and not a random party). 😉 👉 What Stays the Same * No agenda, no panels, just relaxed networking with like-minded people. * Friendly hosts (look for Oliver, Pedro, Rob, or Rob) ready to introduce you. * A mix of founders, builders, operators, and curious newcomers. * Drinks, chats, and maybe some new friends. 📍 Where: Simmons Bar \| Oxford Street\, 203 Wardour St\, London W1F 8ZH 🕕 When: From 6 PM, 1st Wednesday of every month House Rules * No hard selling or heavy pitching, this is a chill after-work meetup. * Not drinking? Totally fine, come for the people, stay for the conversation. So grab a drink, throw on your wristband, and come swap stories from the trenches. See you there! 🍻
FULL - TeamSport: Go Karting Night | London 20s and 30s
FULL - TeamSport: Go Karting Night | London 20s and 30s
**We don’t do boring Wednesdays, and to mark the new year in style, we’re hosting one of our favourite adrenaline-fuelled midweek activity nights!** Yep that’s right, we’ll be back in the driver's seat again and heading to one London’s best indoor Go Karting tracks, **TeamSport Docklands** for an evening of fast-paced races. This indoor venue offers the fastest karts in Central London driving speeds of up-to 40mph, and a multi-Level track experience across over 800 metres. The night will start with a quick briefing to help you get to grips with the track, the rules, and how to get the most out of your kart. We’ll then hit the track for **two high-powered 15-minute races,** with a break in between so you can catch your breath. Once the racing’s done, there’s a podium to pose on if you manage to race your way to glory and the option to stick around in the venue’s bar to swap stories, share tactics, and toast your victories (or near misses). Best of all, we've managed to secure a better than half price deal - so that this experience is just **£21.50pp!** These karting nights are always great fun and don't come around very often, and so hopefully see you there! \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- **WHERE/WHEN** To start the event, we will be meeting at the venue **from 7:45pm.** However, we'd ask that you **arrive no later than 8:00pm**, so that we can get the karting started on time. Pub Address: TeamSport Go Karting Docklands, 3 Herringham Rd, London SE7 8NJ ([https://g.co/kgs/3T2fUas](https://g.co/kgs/3T2fUas)) Nearest Stations: Charlton (10 min walk), North Greenwich (Bus required) End Time: 10:00PM (Approx) **\- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \-** **WHAT TO WEAR** The venue encourages racers to wear comfortable clothes with lots of stretch in them - avoid anything too tight, thick, or loose. As for footwear, trainers are ideal but please avoid open-toed shoes, heels, and sandals as these are not allowed. Race suits, helmets, and gloves are provided but you’ll need to bring a balaclava or **buy a reusable one on the day for £3.99.** Long hair must be tucked into a longer balaclava, and jewellery or loose accessories must be removed for safety. To help make this happen, we also host all kinds of events from free social walks, games evenings, day trips, social events, activity nights to picnics. We meet at lunch each week and each meeting follows a fairly organized agenda. First all participants pass their business cards around. Then each member and guest is invited to give a one-minute overview of their company and what is a perfect referral for the week. We always have a 10 minute presentation from one of the members about their business in more detail. And finally we pass referrals. You're welcome to visit. Nobody is ever put on the spot. Bring plenty of cards!
Contra dance Jan 24 (First Unitarian Universalist Church) note new time!
Contra dance Jan 24 (First Unitarian Universalist Church) note new time!
# **Band: The Pegheads; Caller: Liz Burkhart** Beginner lesson at 1:30, regular dancing begins at 2:00 pm NOTE THAT WE ARE TEMPORARILY DANCING IN THE AFTERNOON INSTEAD OF EVENING. Dance with us in the afternoon then you can still go out in the evening! **Sponsor: All Soles Contra and Square Dancing, First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., Columbus OH 43214** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 1:30 - 2:00, followed by dancing 2:00 - 430. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot. Please bring your own refillable water bottle.

CMG Gives Back: Food Distribution at CHAMPION FOOD PANTRY!
CMG Gives Back: Food Distribution at CHAMPION FOOD PANTRY!
Start the New Year off right! Join us as we get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event to distribute food at the Champion Food Pantry! We’ve created a great little community of Movie Group friends! Rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve people in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: CHAMPION FOOD PANTRY: The Champion Food Pantry provides needed food to neighbors experiencing food insecurity. For this event, we’ll be volunteering to help with Food Distribution during client pick up times. Our group will receive on-the-spot training from some of their seasoned regular volunteers. PLAN FOR CHAMPION FOOD PANTRY: Please arrive by 2:45pm. Our volunteer time will be from 3:00 to 6:00pm. LOCATION & PARKING: The Champion Food Pantry is located at 1460 S. Champion Ave in Columbus. Parking is located in the lot on Frebis across from the pantry. Please enter through the door marked "Volunteers enter here” on Frebis Ave. A map has been uploaded to the photos. IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing the majority of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. No shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will mak you ineligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. LINKS & INFO: Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details: • Champion Food Pantry Civil Rights Training: Attached file. • Champion Food Pantry Parking and Entrance: Attached file. • Champion Food Pantry Orientation Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0wI-AwOYLY • Link with Additional Details / Info: https://lss.vomo.org/opportunity/foodpantrieschampion THANK YOU: This CMG Gives Back event provides an opportunity for YOU to get involved in helping others in our community! But the benefits go well beyond the help we give to others. Volunteering can provide a wide range of personal benefits, including positive effects on mental and physical health, reduced stress/depression/anxiety, increased happiness and improved purpose, life-satisfaction and personal well-being! Plus, the opportunity to get involved, connect with others and help those in need. PARTNER AGENCY: This event is hosted by Lutheran Social Services (LSS), which serves thousands of people in need each day in 27 Ohio counties by addressing the four core societal issues of food, shelter, safety and healing. LSS offers food through the LSS Food Pantries, housing and supportive services through LSS Faith Mission and LSS Faith Mission of Fairfield County homeless shelters, domestic violence services through LSS CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence, senior living and health care, affordable housing communities, and other services that uplift families and strengthen communities. Thanks for your help and look forward to seeing you there, Dan
