"So... what actually IS a Community GameDay?"
A GameDay is a hands-on, team-based challenge where you solve real AWS scenarios under time pressure. No slides. No lectures. You and your team get dropped into a live AWS environment, and things start breaking. Your job? Fix them. Fast.
Think escape room meets cloud engineering.
AWS put together a short [video](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GJyaTUlZWu21ladTlWp13RZCesTeFZCs/view?usp=drive_link) that shows what a GameDay looks like in action -- hit play and see for yourself.
Collaborate. Have fun.

**ABSTRACT**
*Mastering Power BI Model Types - Import, DirectQuery, or Composite?* - **Gregor Prohaska**
Whenever you start a new Power BI project, you must choose the right model type ā a decision that shapes all the work that follows.
This session explores the world of Power BI model types, focusing on the differences between Import, DirectQuery, and Composite models. We examine the limitations, advantages, and requirements of each model to provide a clear decision guideline for when to use each one.
This session aims Power BI developers, data analysts, BI architects, and anyone interested in maximizing the efficiency and flexibility of their Power BI solutions.
By the end of this session, atttendees will
* know the main differences between Import, DirectQuery and Composit models
* be able to choose (wisely) the right model for a given task
* understand the impact on report design, user experience and governance
If you want to avoid classic model type mishaps, this session is for you. Make your users (and database admins) happy and choose wisely!

**Polymorphic Association - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly**
When Active Record works, itās great. Polymorphic associations in Active Record promise elegant flexibility: one interface, many possible models. When they work, they feel almost magical. But when your application grows and realāworld complexity sets in, that magic can quickly turn into confusion, broken queries, and performance headaches. Weāll explore where polymorphic associations shine, where they silently introduce technical debt, and why even experienced Rails developers can end up wrestling with unscoped queries, tricky joins, and hardātoāoptimize relationships. Weāll walk through real examples of tangled polymorphic logicāand more importantly, show practical strategies to refactor, untangle, or even avoid these pitfalls entirely. By the end, youāll know when to reach for polymorphism, when to run away from it, and what to do when your complex query simply refuses to cooperate.
