Please join members of the Fairlington Social Club on Saturday June 20, 2026 from 3:30 PM until 7:00 PM for the Shirlington Village "Yacht Party." We will meet on the patio of Samuel Beckett's Irish Gastro Pub to enjoy dinner & drinks and enjoy the music performed by the band "Got Yacht?" performed in front of the Shirlington Library. The Shirlington Village "Yacht Party" event will feature live music and entertainment, arts and crafts, and food & drink on the closed off streets of Shirlington Village. Admission is free. The Village at Shirlington is a "Sip and Stroll" property, meaning you can carry to-go alcohol beverages purchased from restaurants as you take in the sights and sounds of the block party on Campbell Ave. Free parking available in any of the five parking garages or the surface lot located in Shirlington. Look for the six foot long Fairlington Social Club banner in order to find the group.

It is thrilling to capture the amazing orange and red colors that are only available at that time in the morning. Share only your very best, most interesting shots after the field trip, and keep it down to between 5 and 10 photos. Join the Jaycees in volunteering at the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC)! We sort donated canned goods or bag portions of dry goods or produce for AFAC's weekly food distributions to low-income families in Arlington. AFAC is a long-time community partner of the Arlington Jaycees! At 2:30, or when we are done at AFAC, we will head to **Guapos** in nearby Shirlington for food and drinks. So that we can appropriately plan the tasks to do for the right number of volunteers, **PLEASE UPDATE YOUR RSVP** as soon as possible whether or not you are able to attend. We have to limit the number of volunteers due to limited space at AFAC, and don't want spots to be taken by people who sign up but don't show up. AFAC is located at 2708 South Nelson Street and Four Mile Run Drive. There is street parking available near the building although parking spots are limited. The Volunteer Entrance is the GRAY DOOR by the loading dock. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops) and must have your hair covered while bagging food. You can bring a hat from home or AFAC will provide disposable hairnets. Come support Velocity's Monthly Warehouse Sale! We'll need help moving bicycles outside the warehouse before 9 a.m. and back inside at 1 p.m. In between, we'll greet customers, help them find bicycles and parts, and ring up their purchases on Square. Feel free to sign up even if you can't volunteer for the whole time. And remember to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty with bicycle grease!
