Starting from The Monument a most wonderful 4 mile walk starting at 6.45pm by walking on the north side of the Thames before crossing Millennium Bridge, walking by Tate Modern then along the lovely scenic South Bank passing The Wheel in Westminster until we cross The Thames at Lambeth Bridge to finish by Tate Britain. **The Talbot Room at the George Inn** The George provides the room free of charge (they are awesome), and we encourage you to purchase drinks (and food – the burgers are great!). As it’s a pub and not a picnic area, please don’t consume your own food and drink there. We usually meet in the Talbot room which is on the top floor on the left hand side of the pub as viewed from the courtyard. If lost please send a message here shortly before the meeting starts. **We are sorry to say that there is no step-free access to the Talbot room, and it is at the end of three flights of stairs.** **Format** We start at 7pm and run until 9pm. We hear approximately six readings of 10 minutes (\~2000 words), then discuss the piece for 10 minutes. A link for access to googledocs will be given at the start of each session to enable people to read along, which in turn enables more considered feedback. Work submitted will be automatically deleted after 10 days. Technically, The Romero Way is just a 2km (1.3 mile) stroll from the UK's national shrine to El Salvador's St Oscar Romero in the Roman Catholic St George's Cathedral to Southwark Cathedral but that would leave us kicking our heels and wanting more so, utilising the Thames Path, we'll be linking Southwark Cathedral with St Paul's Cathedral, the Ukranian Cathedral of the Holy Family and finally Westminster Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. In keeping with the Latin American vibe, we'll meet at Elephant and Castle underground station, the heart of London's 'Latin Quarter'. This a relativelty gentle route (11km/7 miles) so there'll be scope to visit each cathedral (though most charge and entrance fee), for deviations to visit other places of worship (I'm open to suggestions) and plenty of opportunities to discuss London's religious heritage and history and global connections. On a personal level, having spent a good deal of time in El Salvador studying liberation theology, it's a chance to get to know more about Romero and Central America.

Come along on Saturday 14th June to visit Kenwood House and then a relaxing walk across Hampstead Heath into Hampstead! **About the house** The house dates back to the early 17th century and was re-modelled by Robert Adam in 1764, who added the library and the ionic portico at the entrance. The house has been open to the public since 1928 and sits on Hampstead Heath, giving spectacular views across London. The house is known for its art, with paintings on display including; 'The Guitar Player' by Vermeer and a self portrait by Rembrandt. It also has paintings on display by Joshua Reynolds, Anthony Van Dyck, JMW Turner and Thomas Gainsborough. The visit should last about 2 hours.
