Chilla with Silverback Gorilla | Journey Across Rwanda + Uganda
Chilla with Silverback Gorilla | Journey Across Rwanda + Uganda
This time we will take you off the beaten trail and bring you inside equatorial wilderness, **African adventure Eldorado**, as we search for gorillas, trek through Uganda jungle, meet the pygmies and take in the views from relaxing shores of Lake Bunyonyi! Meeting face to face with mountain gorillas is one of the **most overwhelming experiences in the world of safaris**. Encounter of jungle beast, only a few feet away can be scary, but there is no need to panic! They are actually quite calm animals, **laziness ambassadors by excellence.** Observing the mountain gorillas in their habitat is an amazing spectacle; you will notice the **social dynamics, hierarchy** and most touching of them all, the **gorilla mothers and their babies**, since they live in family units of 30 to 40 members. The timing spent with them is **mesmerizing and hypnotic, it is impossible to stop looking at them**. They pretend to ignore you, from time to time they cross their gaze with yours, and that is when you realize that the differences between humans and them are minimal. Their eyes speak as the human gaze does, with the movements of the lips we can know if they are smiling, worried or angry, the gestures of the hands are almost identical to ours. **Humans and Gorillas share 98% of DNA.** The KING of the Jungle, the silver back, is **one of the most beautiful creatures on earth**… he is imposing, majestic, elegant, strong and gorgeous. His sudden appearance can leave you breathless, shivering… but do not worry, he will ignore you - green leaves are tastier for breakfast. There is a lot of action in the group: **eating, playing, fighting, grooming each other, rolling on the floor, hitting the chest... it is endless**. The baby gorillas will rock it in a proper show of naughtiness… they will make you laugh. Those cute cubs have so much curiosity for humans, so be ready to witness a show of funny and noisy games to catch your attention. Following the rangers advice, choose a good spot, look around and get the best shots of lifetime memories! At the beginning, we will **traverse through the jungle aka impenetrable forest**. The length of the trek is entirely dependent on the gorillas, sometimes the guides can track them down in less than two hours, other times it takes much longer. **Mountain gorillas are nomadic**, travelling in families and staying in an area just long enough to clear it off food. They also don’t follow a clear path, you’ll realize when tracking them, they like to meander. On your first sighting, you may see mothers holding their babies, juvenile gorillas playing, or dominant silverbacks keeping an eye out for their family! But gorillas are only a part of our trip - we will head to **Lake Bunyonyi, an undiscovered treasure of serenity and scenic views**. We will visit the indigenous Batwa people, who are the original forest dwellers of southwestern Uganda. Expect lots of interactions, cultural demonstrations, and storytelling sessions. The Batwa are known for their vibrant music, dance, and folklore. You can enjoy traditional dances, drumming sessions, and songs that tell stories of their forest life, spiritual beliefs, and the deep connection they have with nature. Definitely a trip on **the wild side** with more relaxed approach to seek out gorillas in their habitat and enjoy pristine jungle in the **heart of Africa**! **Lets go!** **DAY 1// TOUCHDOWN RWANDA, KIGALI – VOLCANOES NP.** Meting at DXB T2 at 00:15 for a flight to Kigali at 01:50. Welcome to Africa! Immigration clearance, short rest and a coffee. We will start with key spots of Kigali: Genocide Memorial Museum, Hôtel des Mille Collines, Nyamirambo Women's Center, Parliament and Kandt House Museum. Further on, transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Overnight at hotel. **DAY 2// GOLDEN MONEKY TREK + IBW'ACHU CULTURAL** After an early breakfast, we will move to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing. By 8:00 AM, we will proceed to the trailhead just outside the park to begin our trek. The golden monkeys inhabit the bamboo forests near the edge of the park, offering relatively flat and accessible terrain. After spending approximately one hour observing the golden monkeys, we will return to the trailhead and drive back to the lodge for lunch. Post lunch, we will visit Gorilla Museum at the Karisoke Research Center to learn about Rwanda's gorilla conservation history. Further on we head to Uganda via Cyanika border towards Bwindi with a stop at Ibw'achu Cultural Village. Overnight accommodation at Ichumbi. **DAY 3// GORILLA TREK IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST** Early in the morning, we will head to Bwindi National Park for gorilla trekking. This experience is considered one of the most thrilling wildlife adventures. The trek takes between 2 to 6 hours and is led by an experienced ranger who will provide insights regarding the jungle's flora, fauna, and the gorillas' lifestyle. After spending one hour with the gorillas, we will return to the lodge and subsequently be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi. Overnight accommodation at Bunyonyi. **DAY 4 // KIGALI** Following a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, we will head back to Rwanda and Kigali. Quick look at bazaars for souvenir shopping and a dinner. Head back to airport for a flight back home. **Level of Difficulty:** Easy to Moderate, including jungle trekking. **Duration:** 4 Days. **Room & Meals:** Comfortable lodges / hotels - double sharing, meals in Uganda included, meals in Rwanda excluded. **Cost: AED 9,410 all incl. flights until MAR 05.** **Specifically Excluded:** Any expenses related to visas, insurance, meals in Rwanda, single supplement. **Visas:** **Rwanda:** Eastern African visa on arrival or eVisa (for both countries). **Yellow Fever Vaccination certificate required for border crossings.** See yah with gorillas x Trekkup Crew [Whatsapp 050 4848238](https://wa.me/971504848238) [Find all trekkups at linktr.ee/trekkup](https://linktr.ee/trekkup)

Dubai Art Workshop Squad
Dubai Art Workshop Squad
Ever wanted permission to break something… on purpose? This is your sign. **✨ Kintsugi Workshop: Embracing Imperfection Through Art ✨** Join us for a thoughtful and creative outdoor session inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi - the art of repairing broken pottery with gold. This workshop is about embracing flaws, honouring resilience, and transforming something broken into something uniquely beautiful. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already love working with your hands, this session is welcoming, reflective, and open to all skill levels. No prior art experience needed. **✨ What Makes This Workshop Special?** This is a hands-on Kintsugi-inspired experience where you won’t just decorate a bowl - you’ll transform it. Each participant will: • Break their own ceramic bowl or pot • Carefully piece it back together • Highlight the cracks using gold paint and other materials Instead of hiding imperfections, we celebrate them. Every crack becomes part of the story. At the end, you’ll take home your own restored piece — a reminder that broken things can be turned into beautiful art. **👩‍🎨 How Does It Work?** You’ll be guided step-by-step through the process: 1\. Gently breaking your ceramic bowl 2\. Reassembling it using glue 3\. Painting over the cracks using gold paint / your choice of colour\. 4\. Adding optional creative touches and personal details \- you can make it as beautiful and artistic as you want \- sky is the limit\. You’ll have access to: • Ceramic bowls/pots (provided) • Strong adhesive • Acrylic paints (including gold tones) • Brushes and detailing tools, including texture painting tools such as sponges, tape, and more to explore out-of-the-box styles. • Mats to work comfortably outdoors This is a calm, intentional process - not rushed. You’ll be encouraged to slow down and enjoy the symbolism behind what you’re creating. 📋 **Agenda** 3:00 PM – 3:15 PM Welcome, introduction to Kintsugi philosophy, and settling in 3:15 PM – 4:45 PM Breaking, repairing, and painting session 4:45 PM – 5:00 PM Final touches, sharing reflections, photos, and wrap-up 🎨 **Medium** We’ll be using acrylic paints (including gold tones). They are water-based and beginner-friendly. You’ll be guided throughout the entire process. 🖌️ **What to Bring** No preparation needed - everything will be provided. Mats, materials, paints, bowls, and tools will all be ready for you. You may bring: • A water bottle • Sunscreen or a hat (since this is outdoors) Note: * Washroom facilities are available. * Snacks and drinks are available at nearby food stalls. * Parking is free but limited. It is highly recommended to find parking on the side lots. 🗺️ **Location** We’ll be gathering at **Dubai Creek Park, Umm Hurair Second**. Exact meeting point details will be shared in the WhatsApp group prior to the event. Look out for the group with mats and art supplies set up! 💳 **Workshop Fee** 80 AED Payment can be made via **Careem Pay** or **Bank Transfe**r prior to the event. 📲 **Whatsapp Group** Join the community here: [https://chat.whatsapp.com/D0WEHX81TvdAzOPYIap9Mv](https://chat.whatsapp.com/D0WEHX81TvdAzOPYIap9Mv) We highly encourage joining the group - it helps us stay connected and grow this creative circle together.
Practical Philosophy Meetup - Dubai 🇦🇪
Practical Philosophy Meetup - Dubai 🇦🇪
**🏛️ WHAT'S PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY ABOUT?** Practical Philosophy is a weekly meet-up that brings critical thinkers together for an opportunity to dive deep on a topic, practice communicating, and building a community. All with no ‘official’ philosophy knowledge required! 😎 Practical Philosophy is based on the idea that philosophy should be accessible to all, and not something reserved only for academics. Each week we choose a topic, and the goal is to use the conversation to develop our critical thinking and communication as we explore that topic. The goal is to help develop our Critical Thinking, Communication, and Community 🙌 **📓 HOW DOES IT WORK?** Each week, we pick one topic and discuss it. The topic for the week is shared, generally in the [Whatsapp group](https://chat.whatsapp.com/CdjwVxcf2EO6vcLWUhaIdk?mode=ems_copy_c), along with jump-off points to get the conversation going. When groups get bigger than 7-8 people, it’s important that we break into smaller groups. This way we are able to maintain a conversational flow as opposed to having our meetups feel like a discourse or lecture. **General Meeting Agenda** Each Practical Philosophy meet-up follows this general timeline: * 17:00-17:15 - People arrive and chat, get to know each other before the official start. * 17:15-17:25 - Meeting introduction, explanation of Practical Philosophy and the topic for the week, read the guidelines and the overview so attendees know what to expect in terms of timelines. * 17:25-18:45 - Break into small groups - introduce yourselves and general thoughts on the topic, open discussion afterwards. At this point the group can review the ‘jump-off’ questions as needed, but they are just there to help guide the conversation. It’s not obligatory to answer them. * 18:45-19:00 - Bring everyone back together to discuss conclusions of the topic - each group gives a short 1-minute summary. Organizer concludes the meeting and everyone takes a group photo. * 19:00 - The official meeting is over but it’s a great opportunity to get to know people in a non-structured environment, so we often stick around, chat, and get to know each other. **🧧PRICING?** Practical Philosophy Club is FREE to attend! We just ask that if we are meeting in a café, buy a beverage! Some chapters rent a space for us to meet, and they may ask for donations to help contribute to the cost of rent. Donations will always be 100% voluntary though! **💛 WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY** **🗣** “I feel like Philosophy Club helps someone build their own belief system through a series of perspectives while not promoting what’s right and wrong” - Ekam 🗣 “I got hooked from day 1 (the topic was authority) and felt it was the right place for me. I feel it is a place where people can go to learn and discuss new perspectives and increase critical thinking and community by interacting with people who might challenge your point of views but at the same time encourage you to have openness and mind flexibility.” - Daniel **🤓 FAQ** * **What will we talk about? What's the topic?** The topic for the week is shared every Sunday in the Whatsapp group. We try to add the topic to the comment section on this event page as well but if you don’t see it, the topic and the jump-off points will be in our [Whatsapp](https://chat.whatsapp.com/CdjwVxcf2EO6vcLWUhaIdk?mode=ems_copy_c). * **Do I need to study or read anything to attend?** No preparation is necessary. This isn’t a study of other thinkers. We want to know what YOU think about the topic, not what an old philosopher thought. If you have a perspective from a religion or a school of thought to share, throw it on the table and we’ll discuss it, but it's not required. * **Is there a specific philosophy that Practical Philosophy is focused on?** The goal of our meet-ups is to not have dogmatic discussions, and flex our critical thinking muscles. Because of this, we want to hear from every realm of thought, and don't study a particular school. * **Is it mostly men that attend?** Surprisingly, no! Although philosophy is seen as a Candelabra affair in a dark room with a bunch of guys, our Practical Philosophy meetups are generally 50/50 between genders, and we don’t meet in any dark rooms. * **Can I come alone?** Of course you can, we encourage it :) * **Can I be late?** Please don't be! We do have a 15 minute grace period where we allow people to funnel in while we hang out, but after that if you arrive too late, it disrupts the flow of the conversation. * **Where do you meet?** The location is posted in Meetup and our [Whatsapp](https://chat.whatsapp.com/CdjwVxcf2EO6vcLWUhaIdk?mode=ems_copy_c) group for this location. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you join the Whatsapp group! If you want to know what other cities have a Practical Philosophy Club, you can see our chapters on our [website](https://www.practicalphilosophy.club/). 🤝**POLICY** To respect our members privacy, we ask that no one privately message a member without first getting explicit consent. (This looks like speaking in person and being asked to message privately.) Contacting or texting other participants without prior consent is not permitted and may result in removal from the group. Practical Philosophy reserves the right to enforce this policy at its discretion to maintain a safe and respectful environment. **PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY CLUB - Making Philosophy Available To All ✨** Practical Philosophy hosts weekly, in-person meetups in over 20 countries, including Canada, Spain, Japan, Mexico and many more! 🗺️ **\*\*\*** **Join our [Whatsapp group](https://chat.whatsapp.com/CdjwVxcf2EO6vcLWUhaIdk?mode=ems_copy_c) 👈** **Follow us on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/practicalphilosophyclub/) 👈** **Our [website](https://www.practicalphilosophy.club/) 👈**

The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 **Abstract** Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively. This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way. **YouTube Link** TBA

ServiceNow's Got Talent
ServiceNow's Got Talent
Builders, creators, architects, admins, consultants - come one, come all. This one's for you. We're bringing a little friendly competition to the Columbus ServiceNow community while highlighting the cool things people have built on the platform. Five presenters will take the stage to showcase something they've built, solved, designed, or imagined on the ServiceNow platform - and a panel of judges (plus YOU, our amazing audience) will score them live. So basically, America's Got Talent but make it ServiceNow's Got Talent. Bring a notepad if you'd like 'cause you'll definitely be learning something new. Each presenter gets 10 minutes max to wow the crowd with: • A demo • A real-world business solution • A bold idea • A UX transformation • Or a creative use of the platform Judging Criteria: 🏆 Business Value 🚀 Innovation ✨ User Experience This event is about celebrating ideas, sharing knowledge, and showing how ServiceNow can drive both business impact and meaningful user value. Come learn. Come support. Come get inspired. Refreshments and bites will be provided. And maybe next time… you’ll be on stage.
