Stylized strides dominate this dance, along with periodical sharp and staccato movements. Tango’s passionate nature evokes a strong connection to the music, your partner and the audience, a dance that is exciting and often easy to learn. Let’s wind down the year with a refreshing coastal walk along breezy shores and serene views of the open sea — a peaceful escape before 2026 arrives. 🌅🚶‍♀️ We’ll enjoy a simple dinner 🍽️, before wandering through a Christmas-themed fair, soaking in its sparkling lights and lively atmosphere in the free-access zones. 🎅🎁✨ We are volunteers who enjoy the Great Outdoors (GO) and would like to share the GO with u too! 🤎✌️😃 **This is a free community walk, created simply for the joy of exploring together. Event: women’s only event 🫶🏽 I’d love for us ladies to enjoy an evening learning about henna and enjoying the cafe vibe! What to expect: - Learn about henna. - Learn how to apply henna - from how to hold the cone, to learning different simple yet beautiful common henna designs! - we will practice on paper, and if you’re comfortable, also on yourself (ex. Your hand or arm!) - near the end of the event, I can apply a free up to $10 in value henna designs in your hand or arm! 🫶🏽 You will leave the event with new skills and knowledge about henna and how to apply it. I will also give you henna cones to keep so that you can continue to practice. The henna cones at 15grams and can be found at Syraskins! Cost of event: $45. Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
