**⚠️ IMPORTANT: REGISTRATION MANDATORY ⚠️** Registration on **Luma** is **REQUIRED** to attend this event. **Link: https://luma.com/zzuvu98h?utm_source=meetup** Your registration is subject to host approval. You must complete the registration process on lu.ma to receive the full event location details and confirmation of your attendance. **Please note: Without approved registration on Luma, you will NOT be able to access the event location or attend.** We are excited to host a **BLISS x dida** workshop featuring Lukas Ruff (VP of Data Science @ [Aignostics](https://www.aignostics.com/?utm_source=luma)) together with his colleagues (Christina Embacher, Jonas Dippel, and Maaike Galama), who will guide us through an interactive session on AI for Precision Medicine. **Title:** Al for Precision Medicine: From Foundation Models to Tumor Tissue Profiling in Computational Pathology 📅 **Date:** 24.06.2026 🕕 **Time:** 18:00 📍 **Location:** TU Berlin Marchstrasse 23 [Room 0.011] The session will last around 2 hours, followed by a networking session with **dida** and fellow AI enthusiasts (and free pizza!🍕). Bring your laptop! The session will last around 2 hours, followed by a networking session with dida and fellow AI enthusiasts (and free pizza!🍕). Bring your laptop! **Abstract:** Nearly every cancer diagnosis still begins with a pathologist examining a stained tissue slide under a microscope. Digital pathology turns those slides into gigapixel images — and with them, a uniquely demanding frontier for machine learning. But getting from raw pixels to clinically meaningful, quantitative insight about a tumor and its microenvironment is far from trivial. In this workshop, Aignostics — a computational pathology company and Charité spin-off — walks you along the arc from core ML research to real-world application. We start with an overview of digital pathology and what makes it challenging for ML (gigapixel images, scarce labels, scanner and staining variability). We then look at how pathology foundation models are built and what separates a good one from a fragile one — not just accuracy, but robustness to non-biological artifacts — with a short hands-on segment. Finally, we put these models to work: with Atlas H&E-TME we profile the tumor microenvironment from routine H&E slides, and you'll get hands-on with OpenTME — an open dataset of TME profiles across five cancer types from TCGA — and TME Studio to run your own analyses. **⚡ FINAL REMINDER ⚡** **You MUST register and be approved on Luma to attend. The event location will only be visible after your registration is confirmed by the host. Our **BLISS Workshops** connect **students and young professionals with industry partners**, offering an inside look into **how machine learning is applied in real-world settings** \- from research and development to deployment\. We are **dida**, scientific engineers who believe that **reliable AI** should not be a **"black box".** That is why we prioritize transparency, mathematics, and code over hype. Rumba Columbia (Free Trial Class)
Rumba Columbia (Free Trial Class)
**Rumba Columbia is a powerful and sensitive dance. Through Columbia, dancers express their deepest emotions. It is an improvisational dance developed in Cuba, where each dancer enters alone and shows their individuality.** **It combines fast, intricate footwork with sharp shoulder movements, constantly shifting in tempo and cadence. But Columbia is about more than technique — it is about presence and dialogue. The dancer and the quinto (lead drum) interact in real time, creating a living conversation between rhythm and movement. 🥁** **Traditionally, Columbia was danced mostly by men, as it originated in shipyards and docks where they expressed strength, agility, and creativity. Today, rumberas also shape the dance, bringing new grace and power to it.** **Columbia remains a dance of individuality — every gesture, step, and accent is personal. It’s not about perfection, but about truth, rhythm, and connection.** **In this course, we do not learn pre-set choreographies. Instead, we focus on improvisation and help you develop your own style and expression within the dance. ✨** **📧 info@puntocubanoberlin.com** **📞 +49 155 100 966 28** 💛 What to Expect from a Free Trial Class If you choose to join a free trial class, please note that you will be joining an ongoing course rather than a class specifically designed for complete beginners. The purpose of the trial class is to give you the opportunity to get an impression of me as a teacher, my teaching style, and the atmosphere of the class. This is an open-level class and usually includes dancers with a wide range of experience, including some more advanced students. I therefore encourage you not to compare yourself too much to the people around you. Instead, focus on taking from the class what matches your current level and experience. It is perfectly fine if, for now, "all" you take home is the basic step of this beautiful dance. 😊 Rumba Columbia is a dance with many layers. Week by week, you will improve your body movement, technique, coordination, musicality, and build your own repertoire of movements and ideas. My goal is not for everyone to master the same material at the same speed, but for each dancer to continue growing from wherever they currently are. I am very much looking forward to meeting you and dancing with you! Yago

Designing APIs & Building Contextual Chatbots | Data Engineering Meetup
Two talks. One evening. Plenty of ideas to take home. We’re ready to kick things off for another Berlin Meetup, and are happy to present the speakers of the evening: **[Jens Wriske](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jens-wriske-8b538a397/):** ***"Designing APIs on top of Data Platforms using Databricks"*** Modern data platforms increasingly follow a lakehouse architecture, where data remains owned and governed by domain teams rather than application developers. This session explores how APIs can be designed on top of Azure Databricks to provide access to heterogeneous data sources without duplicating or owning the underlying storage layer. **[Tanuj Jain](https://www.linkedin.com/in/tanuj-jain-10/): *"The Story Behind the Story: "Building a Contextual News Chatbot."*** Most news readers lack the background to fully engage with the stories they encounter. This talk walks through the development of a chatbot embedded in a news article page for a German news publisher, designed to give readers on-demand context about what they're reading. We share the key technical and product decisions made along the way, and what we learned about building an AI feature that sits at the intersection of editorial and user experience. ✧ ✧ ✧ **What to expect:** * Two expert talks and Q&A * Networking opportunities in our great Creator Space * Some snacks & drinks to fuel your thoughts : ) ✧ ✧ ✧ **Timetable:** * 18:30 - Event admission * 18:50 - Welcome & Introduction * 19:00 - Jens Wriske: *"Designing APIs on top of Data Platforms using Databricks"* * 19:30 - 5 minutes break * 19:35 - Tanuj Jain: *"The Story Behind the Story: Building a Contextual News Chatbot"* * 20:05 - Snacks, Drinks & Networking * 21:30 - End ✧ ✧ ✧ More on the **-> [applydata data engineering meetup page](https://applydata.io/data-engineering-meetup/)**. **Our goal is to form a local data-loving community, so join us and let's talk data together!** ✧ ✧ ✧ *At the event, sound, image and video recordings are created and published for documentation purposes as well as for the presentation of the event in publicly accessible media, on websites and blogs and for presentation on social media. **Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge. **Abstract** *Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code* Visual Studio Code is one of the most widely used development environments today, and much of its flexibility comes from its extension ecosystem. Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. We’ll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options. **YouTube Link** TBD
