This is a regular Bring-Your-Own-Book session, where participants share and present to the group non-fiction books they have read. New members are welcome to attend to listen to and discuss the presentations of others. Usually a meeting takes around 2.5-3 hours. During this time we discuss 2 different books, roughly 1 hour per book. Any non-fiction material: a book, documentary, or lecture or a part of it - anything with a title and an author and that contains some coherent ideas. Each presentation includes a summary of a book (15-40 min) and discussion (accordingly). The meeting will be either in a park or in a coffee shop, on HK side. The exact place to be confirmed with the attendees **by WhatsApp only**. I will / have sent the link to the WhatsApp group, please use the link. Introvert friendly. We have people from different countries, so while books can be in any language, the language of the meeting is English. We meet to learn and practice American Sign Language and to grow our familiarity with Deaf culture. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily.
