We will gather monthly and each session will center a new theme. For our first gathering, we invite you to talk "a little bit about Power". Not as dominance but rather as aliveness. The kind of power we feel within ourselves and we can create as a group. We will also collect your topics and prepare each following gathering with care. If you want to contribute, that’s wonderful. We’ll wander past neon signs, street-art explosions, colorful corners, stairwells, murals, markets, and hidden details you normally walk right past. Your mission should you choose to accept it, is to: ### **Capture Schöneberg with fresh eyes — find colors, small surprises, and moments that a tourist would notice.** Anyone with a phone can join. Your team can submit up to **15 photos** that best fit the theme. You can use one phone or combine photos from multiple team members. **15 minutes of scoring** Once time is up, we will gather at a cafe where teams will anonymously score photos from other teams based on creativity, theme fit, and overall vibe. Each team will score one photo from every other team. **Leaderboard reveal + Prize!** Results appear instantly. The top team wins a prize! The wooded peninsula invites you to hike along the shores of Zeuthener See and Krossinsee lakes. Various picnic areas invite you to rest and let your gaze wonder across the water. There are also places to swim. We meet in Alt-Schmöckwitz at the terminus of tram line 68. From there, we cross the bridge over the Dahme River and immediately reach Schmöckwitzer Werder. From here, the trail leads us south between the edge of the forest and the shore of Lake Zeuthen to the Rauchfangswerder settlement at the tip of Schmöckwitzer Werder. We will circle the tip of the peninsula, where there is also an opportunity to take a picnic break. Please bring your own food and drink as there is no opportunity to purchase anything during the hike. At the shore of Lake Krossin, we will head north again and back to Alt-Schmöckwitz where our tour ends. Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process. Fast track • Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell). • Show up and try it out. • Complete application, etc. later. Normal process • Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/). • Attend orientation in advance. • At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility. • Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM. • Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895). The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014. Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
