What Should We Charge for This?
What Should We Charge for This?
Pricing decisions can make or break a product — yet for many product managers, it's a conversation they're not always invited to, and feel underprepared for when they are. This event is designed to change that. We're sitting down with two experienced practitioners to explore when and how PMs should be showing up in pricing conversations, what skills and knowledge they need to build to earn a seat at the table, and where to even begin when you have a great product but no idea what to charge for it. We'll also get into the practical stuff: the difference between pricing and commercialisation and why it matters, the most common mistakes product teams make, and how to spot the signals that tell you your pricing needs a rethink. We'll close with a mental model you can take back to your team straight away. Whether you've never touched a pricing decision or you're just looking to sharpen your thinking, this is a candid, beginner-friendly session with plenty of time for your questions. **About our speakers:** [Melissa Firth](https://www.linkedin.com/in/melissa-firth/) Melissa Firth is a fractional CPO working with tech companies across New Zealand to align product strategy with go-to-market execution. As founder of PocketCPO, she partners with leaders and teams to realise profitable growth through product-market fit, commercialisation, and strategic planning that creates clarity amid complexity. With over 25 years' experience spanning SaaS, B2B, enterprise digital, and startups, Melissa has built teams, launched products, and helped prepare companies for acquisition. Her approach is practical, grounded in real business constraints, and focused on measurable outcomes. [Hugh Robinson](https://www.linkedin.com/in/hugh-robinson-akl/) Hugh is a pricing and go‑to‑market leader with over 25 years’ experience across telco, energy, SaaS, and financial services. He is General Manager, GTM & Propositions at Datacom and was previously Head of Pricing & Commercialisation at Xero, where he partnered with product teams across Australia, the UK, the US, and New Zealand to optimise pricing and commercialisation for new and existing products. COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process. Fast track • Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell). • Show up and try it out. • Complete application, etc. later. Normal process • Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/). • Attend orientation in advance. • At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility. • Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM. • Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895). The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014. Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
