Swim @ Liepnitzsee
=== THE TOUR ===
On Saturday I'll drive to Liepnitzsee for a swim and a short picknick on the lake. I have a car and I wouldn't mind some company.
We will depart at 09:00 (sharp) and drive to a parking space near the lake. From there it is a 10 minute walk.
I have to be back in town by 15:00.
Note that the place is remote. There are no facilities. You have to bring everything you need.
=== WHAT TO BRING ===
• Swimming wear, towls, etc.
• Water, drinks and food
• Good mood
• 5 Euros for fuel and parking fees
=== NO-SHOW POLICY ===
I enforce a zero-tolerance policy on no-shows and last-minute cancellations. If you RSVP and don't show up, you will be removed from the group. If your plans change, please cancel early enough to make your seat available for someone else.

**FAQ**
Cycle & swim - Grimnitz- and Parsteiner See
========== FACTS ==========
ROUTE: Althenhof > Grimnitzsee > Wolletz > Angermünde > Parsteiner See > Chorin
LEVEL: Intermediate to Experienced
DISTANCE: 50ish kms
MEETING POINT: 08:20 - Berlin Ostkreuz
========== FACTS ==========
========= DETAILS =========
**ROUTE:**
This is the start of the swimming season (at least for me).
Once we arrived in Altenhof we head downhill to the Lake Grimnitzsee for a first swim. After the refreshment we head further up nprth on mixed grou before we reach Glambeck, a very scenic little village.
From there it is solig ground only to Wolletz where we stop at the Kaffee Konsum for a delicious Wildboar Burger, or more.
From there we have the chance to either head on solid ground alongside more boring nature of straight through the forrest on such ground.
Passing through Angermünde we head further down south via Herzsprung before we reach the Parsteiner See. One of the clearest lakes I know (and my personal favourite, but psst…).
After the second swim we then head around the lake and stop for a last sip of coffee (and hopefully cake) at the Hofladen Brodowin, where even Kind Charles has been.
From there its just \~7km to the train station Chorin where we hop into the train which brings us back to Berlin.
**SPEED:**
Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front.
This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat."
**DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:**
This is an about 50ish km ride, with mainly mixed and soft but also some solid ground.
In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me!
And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before!
**MEETING POINT:**
08:20 - Berlin Ostkreuz, in the train RB24 on platform 14.
I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike.
But you can hop in at any other station if you want (and dare).
**TICKET:**
It is 23,60 both ways / person, so this time it does make much sense to organise a BBT. I will get one if at least one other person wants to join me!
And don't forget your "[24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network](https://www.vbb.de/en/tickets/tickets-for-your-bicycle/24-hour-ticket-bicycle/)" ticket which is about 7,50 EUR.
**WAY OUT:**
08:41 - dep. Berlin Ostkreuz, platform 14, taking RB24 to Eberswalde
09:27 - arr. Eberswalde, platform 2, switching trains
09:37 - dep. Eberswalde, RB63, platform 4,
09:55 - arr. Altenhof
**WAY BACK:**
18:43 - dep. Chorin, RE3
19:07 - arr. Bernau, switching trains to S2
19:23 - dep. Bernau, S2
20:06 - arr. Yorckstraße (S2)
**RECOMMENDATIONS:**
Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling.
While we'll stop somewhere for a lunch and/or coffee please always bring your snacks but especially some drinks along!
And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work?
Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you!
Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it.
And in case you need special medical treatment please make me aware of that upfront. Even if everyone is responsible for themselves I'd like to be able to handle it if necessary.

Community gardening and sharing
Hello everyone!
This Saturday we are making an spontaneous meeting, to make some gardening work in our new community Butterfly Garden in Neukölln, at Dammweg 216.
The idea is to share, to transplant some left plants from the past events, watering if it's necessary, and I would like to share some next steps for the garden, and open to you ideas so we can make it together, for example thinking about making signs in the garden, a fence, and of course continue learning together about the butterflys and their native plants.
If you join 9:30 bring something to have breakfast together in the garden :)
Around 12 h we will be finishing, feel free to join in any moment between 9:30 and 11:00.
No experience is required!
Bring some clothes that can get dirty while working in the garden.
This project is called "Butterflies' Garden: an urban habitat for biodiversity and community learning " And is supported by the IUCN SOS and co-funded by the European Union.
I hope to see you there!!
I'm looking forward to expand this community together with the butterflies in Berlin!
Warmly
Mercedes 💚?

Bouldering Session
Have you always wanted to learn bouldering but never had the right company? Or are you an experienced boulderer who just wants to find boulder-buddies? If yes, this is the right event for you.
We are going to meet inside "urban apes Basement Boulderstudio", close to S Anhalter Bahnhof, also not far from Potsdamer Platz. If you have never been there, you will need to sign up with them, which will take a bit of time. After that, **you can find us on the couches near the lockers (not in front of the reception), next to a red smiley**. When you enter the actual gym, enter the hall by turning left immediately - you are walking towards them. We will start warming up around 11:10, so everyone has enough time to arrive and get changed before that.
***\*\*\**** *Spots are limited, so please update your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance if you won't be joining. **NO-SHOWs ARE NOT COOL \*\*\****
We enter the gym at 11:00, if you are late, you will need to look for us inside.
IMPORTANT: they only accept cards as a payment method. No cash. One day ticket will cost you 13,90 EUR (10,90 EUR if you are a student, free if Urban Sports Club).
**What to bring: well, first of all, a good mood.**
But you could also bring
* climbing shoes if you have any. If not, you can rent them there, no worries. They cost 3,50 EUR.
* a lock (for the locker).
* chalk. You won't need that if you are a beginner. Renting is possible.
* water.
* extra clothes. It's quite chalky there and humans sweat, not the best mix, don't you think? :D
Please, note: the organizer is not responsible for anything, including injuries. A basic introduction will be provided.

🌞 Sun, see, sand, and Schmöckwitz! Whilst it might not roll off the tongue, Schmöckwitzwerder is Berlin’s own lesser-known island paradise, and we’re ready to explore it!
With Sunday’s weather looking pretty good, why not join us for a fun and laid-back hike around the island?
Where else can you lounge on the beach in Berlin state and cross into Brandenburg’s waters with just one splash? We’ll be taking our time, with plenty of swim breaks to cool off in the Zeuthener See and soak up the rays along the Dahme River. 🌊
Nature lovers, bring your binoculars! You might spot herons, kingfishers, or even white-tailed eagles soaring above. 🐦🦅
And guess what? Schmöckwitz is home to Berlin’s southernmost point! The island is sprinkled with charming old villas and cute boathouses. Maybe pack your favorite games—whether it’s frisbee, möllky, viking chess or a deck of cards, it’s the perfect place to relax and play. 🏖️🏡
Join us for a day of fun in the sun!

We’ll meet up at Alt Schmöckwitz in BVG’s ZONE B tram stop at 10:37am.
From there, we’ll stroll around the island at a chill pace, making sure to enjoy every moment. We’re more about the swim-and-chill vibes than power hiking, so expect to splash around in at least two spots and take it easy.
