TIAMAT in Toronto (Tier 2)
TIAMAT in Toronto (Tier 2)
**Note: You must have completed TIAMAT Tier 1 in 2025 or later to participate in Tier 2.** The TIAMAT program is informed by a 4E cognitive science framework, where cognition is taken to be more than just what happens inside the skull. Rather, cognition happens *between* the mind and the body, and *between* us and our world. There is a *co-dependent* relationship between our mind and our body, and between ourselves and our world. What our workshops do is ask you to **engage with the world in a *different way***. Because they are mutually dependent, a different manner of engagement reveals new aspects of both yourself and the world. We’ve designed TIAMAT for transfer. In other words, we’ve designed it so that the altered relationship between yourself and the world within the practices, carries on and grows beyond the practices. ### What is Tier 2? **Tier 2** – Sitting between Tier 1’s structures and Tier 3’s state-work, focuses on **shadow work** (i.e. those behaviors we disown) in a participatory, relational container. The **stance is curious and collaborative**: we work *with* what arises, instead of providing an ideal standard for you to meet. Expect intensity paired with clear agreements, escalation-through-repetition, all with the support of like-minded folks and relational support. Collective sense-making is built into Tier 2, ensuring that you’re neither alone in distress nor stuck in your own rumination cycles. **Schedule** \- Earliest Arrival \- Sunday\, June 7th \- 8pm \- Latest Arrival \- Monday\, June 8th \- 8am \- Program from Monday\, June 8th \- June 12th \- Departure \- Friday\, June 12th by 4pm **Fee:** $2600 - 3250 USD (w/Tier 1) - Super Early Bird Ends 3/10 or Early Bird 3/31! - **This covers shared accommodations and meals.** **Facilitation** by Ethan Hsieh, Taylor Barratt & Dr. John Vervaeke **For more information** on this and the pre-requisite Tier 1 (May 22nd - 24th, 2026) please visit [our site](https://awakentomeaning.com/tiamat-training-program-in-toronto-2026/).

Coming Out, Being Out - Peer Discussion (Weekly)
Coming Out, Being Out - Peer Discussion (Weekly)
**Description** Coming Out Being Out (COBO) is a peer discussion group that has served the LGBT community for over 15 years in downtown Toronto. We meet to share stories and opinions, challenges and triumphs at all stages of coming out and being out. COBO participants are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit and questioning people. We welcome all who identify under the banner of queer sexual orientation and gender identity. **What We Do** \|\-\| COBO participants are often seeking to: * Understand what experiences others have in coming out to family, friends and their respective communities. * Develop comfort in discussing their identity with others. * Meet others having the same experiences when it comes to living openly. * Receive the encouragement of peers. \|\-\| Regular topics of discussion include: * How people choose to come out (at work, with family, with friends). * Where to find others like us in the community. * Challenges and triumphs in navigating family and partner relationships. **Where & When** * Every Wednesday from 6-8pm * Community meeting space at Casey House - 119 Isabella St., Toronto **How to Access the Meeting** Registration on Meetup is not required to attend. Attendance is on a drop-in basis. The front door to our meeting space at Casey House is controlled by the main floor receptionist. To access the space when you arrive: * Press the button to the left of the main entrance door. * Tell the receptionist that you are there for the COBO meeting. * You will be buzzed in and someone from our group will come to show you to the meeting. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ON WEDNESDAY! *COBO is a community group led by non-professional peer facilitators and is not a Casey House program.*
An Epic Journey: Dante's Inferno (LECTURE ON THE GO)
An Epic Journey: Dante's Inferno (LECTURE ON THE GO)
**The Toronto History Walks Explorer Pass is available. Get it now for $125.00 for 1 year of unlimited tours, email** **torontohistorywalks@gmail.com** **for more information or for signing up!** We have an amazing "Lecture on the Go" series for 2026. New topics and fascinating stories abound! Join us and learn about the world and keep active and warm and cool during the winter and summer months! I started this walking classroom when we were under that horrible cloud called Covid. This series was popular and helped people get back into society and life. The "Lecture on the Go" Series is open to members who have purchased the YEARLY MEMBERSHIP PASS, it's free for those members. If you wish to attend a lecture and you are not a yearly pass member then the price **per** lecture is $20.00. This fourth lecture is focussed on the writings by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri. We are taken on an unexpected descent into a place where every choice, mistake, and hidden truth seems to have a consequence. Dante finds himself lost, but what follows is anything but ordinary. He enters a world that is imaginative, and strangely familiar. Dante encounters a series of surprising scenes. The landscape shifts, the atmosphere deepens, and the people he meets add a layer of realism that makes the experience personal. The structure of the story builds in intensity, revealing how each step downward uncovers something new. What makes this work so fascinating is not just its imagery, but the questions it raises. *Inferno* invites you to think differently about consequences, and accountability, and the way stories shape our understanding. You may find yourself reconsidering ideas in new light. In this lecture on the Go, we’ll explore *Dante’s Inferno* in a way that reveals its surprises. You’ll come away with a clear understanding of the journey, and its themes, and the remarkable way in which it was written. If you’re curious about a story that continues to challenge this is one journey you won’t want to miss. Upcoming topics in the 2026 series: \*Philosophy 1: Great Minds of the Western World: Goethe to Kant! - (June 2026) \*Philosophy 2: Great Minds of the Eastern World: Chuang Tzu to Dalai Lama - (July 2026) The 1977 Disaster at Tenerife - (August 2026) Legacy of Triangle: How a New York Factory Scandal changed North America - (September 2026) This is the fourth event in the series! So book your plans now! This event is for all levels and walkers, there are a few steps here and there to navigate, but mostly on one level. This event in a non-walking event. The lecture begins on the steps of Old City Hall at the northeast corner of Bay Street and Queen Street West, and has a ticket price of $20.00 per person, but **free with the yearly membership pass**. **Please note: Please e-transfer the ticket amount when booking your space for this tour! You can e-transfer to the following email at:** **torontohistorywalks@gmail.com**
