This is a weekly training session with Vienna Gaels, a Vienna-based Irish GAA club playing Gaelic football and hurling. The session is relaxed, structured, and welcoming, with coaching provided throughout. Whether you’re just starting out or are already a seasoned speaker, you're welcome as our guest. **What happens at a Meeting?** Our meetings follow a structured, interactive format: * **Welcome and Introduction** The meetings begin with a warm welcome from the Club President and the host (called *Toastmaster of the Evening)*. Then, we do a short introduction round where everyone - guests too - say a few words on the evening's topic. * **Word of the Day** A challenge that builds your language skills and sharpens your attention to word choice. A special word is introduced and everyone is invited to use this word whenever they speak. * **Table Topics** This is an exciting segment! Volunteers - guests too! - are invited to speak for 1-2 minutes on a surprise question or topic. It's a great way to practice thinking on your feet. * ***Short Break of 10 minutes*** * **Prepared Speeches** * Members deliver speeches prepared ahead of time, usually 5-7 minutes in length. Each speech is a step in the Toastmasters learning pathway. * **Evaluations** Every speech will be thoughtfully evaluated by a designated Evaluator. These evaluations focus on strengths, improvement tips, and encouragement. PCE - "Philosophic Conversation in English" is a discussion event in English language which focuses on psychology, philosophy, self-consciousness and self-realization. The conversation is based on inclusive discussion rules. We will meet at at a restaurant where we will sit in the outdoor area. At the beginning we will choose the two topics to discuss. Everybody can suggest a topic. Afterwards we will vote what topics to discuss. The person who suggests a winning topic will start the discussion by explaining his/her idea. Afterwards everybody gets his/her chance to make a statement. But you can also decide to remain silent and only listen, if you prefer that. We have a time limit for statements, so that everybody has enough time to speak. It is not allowed to interrupt somebody who is speaking. After a statement everybody can ask a question and the speaker will answer. After the first part there will be a 15 minutes break before we start the second part. Everybody is welcome to our event: We are interested in your thoughts and opinions! It is no problem if you arrive late and you can also leave whenever you want. All current information is published in our WhatsApp group❗️** **🏔️ Semmering Hike: 20-Schilling-Blick** **📅 Date:** 5 July 🕒 **Time:** ~07:00–18:00 **What makes this trip special:** — one of Austria’s most famous panoramic viewpoints: 20-Schilling-Blick — breathtaking views of the legendary Semmering Railway — beautiful forest trails, mountain scenery, and historic villas The Semmering Railway was the world’s first true mountain railway, built in the 1850s, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The view from 20-Schilling-Blick became so iconic that it was even printed on the old Austrian 20-schilling banknote. 📏 Distance: ~14.6 km ⛰️ Elevation gain: ~600 m ⏱️ Walking time: ~4 h 40 min (plus breaks & photos) This is a scenic circular route and is considered moderate. **⚠️** Expect: – a few steeper uphill sections – mixed terrain (forest paths, gravel, some asphalt) – a full day outdoors 👉 You should: – have a basic fitness level – be comfortable walking 14–15 km **🥾 Hiking shoes or shoes with good grip are recommended.** **💶 Participation fee:** 30 € (including train tickets) **👥 Group size:** 19 participants The registration form will be shared in the WA about a week before the event – https://chat.whatsapp.com/GqWhKBUCR5RAhI6WUguIcR Participation is confirmed only after 10 € prepayment. **🎫 If you have a Klimaticket:** Just mention it in the registration form, and you’ll only pay a 15 € organizational fee. 🚸The main goal of my trips is about enjoying the moment, meeting new people, and making beautiful places accessible even if you’re not a pro. ⚠️ This is a community meetup, not a guided tour. And in case that doesn’t really tell you what to expect, just think short intervals of exercise combined together in a playful and interactive way to help you strengthen your body in a sustainable way while allowing you to meet new people (and often even forget how hard you’re working out). As a reminder for those nervous about their fitness level: Everything we do, we do with all fitness levels in mind; so the exercises are always adjustable to your level and you’re always strongly encouraged to take it at your own pace - I mean, we’re not called My Pace for nothing! How to find us: We meet and train behind the calisthenics workout station on the Zirkuswiese of the Prater. I prefer transfer over cash. **Equipment** * I provide balls (usually Bullpadel Next) * If you need a racket, you can rent it from me for 2 € (limited number available). You can also rent a racket from the venue for 4 € **Cancellation** * Please cancel at least 10h before the event, to give people on the wait list the chance to jump in. Otherwise a late cancellation fee of 10 € must be paid. * Cancel at least 26h before the event in case the wait list is empty. After a quick break, we then take a short commute to our actual trailhead. Expect iron-rich lakes, lush forests and a panoramic chairlift ride to the Kamzik mountain top. Join me for a photo walk along the Stadtwanderwerg 3 :) We will gather at Kapelle St. Anna at the beginning of the official hike and take a walk along it (circular route). Hi Running fellows, Whether you’re a walker, new to running, a semi-pro, a marathonist or a sprint star - if you want to start your weekend in an active way and enjoy the outdoors in lovely surroundings with a fun, international and multilingual group of people, you are welcome to join us! Every Saturday at 9:30 am, we meet, we run, in the magnificent Schönbrunn park, and then we go for breakfast. Want to discuss politics or the best recipes for banana pancakes? Not a problem. Not feeling social? Tune out with your earbuds - we can talk over breakfast. We are casual. You can be too. What to expect: Start by meeting Adrian, Ali, Liz, Paul and Sonia on-time at 9:30am outside the Schönbrunn U-Bahn stop (exit Grünbergstraße). (Coordinates: 48.1858130, 16.3200640) From there, we walk to the side park entrance where the “running” part begins. The important thing is that you run at your own pace. Typically, small groups of people will run at the same pace as you, so you never have to walk/run alone :) We finish one hour later, at about 10:40am, reconvening just inside the Hietzinger Tor exit. (Coordinates: 48.1858825, 16.3032647). From there, we’re off to breakfast! Breakfast Details: Anker bakery opposite the U4 Hietzing station and depending on the weather, grab something for a picnic in Schönbrunn park, or hang out in the bakery. If you missed us earlier, you can always go there around 10:45. We are a fun group of runners who don’t take things too seriously. We meet, chat, RUN, stretch, chat, EAT and we hang out over a beer every now and then. It's that easy. Please join us for breakfast after the run! The more the merrier. Typically we are 10-30 people, as not everyone who comes signs up on meetup.
