The EU Radio Equipment Directive now mandates that internet-connected radio equipment meet the requirements of EN 18031 — a standard that covers network protection, personal data safeguards, and protection against fraudulent use. For many embedded teams, the path from product to certification is anything but straightforward. In this talk, Aljaž will walk through Visionect's hands-on experience: what EN 18031 actually requires, how the team structured and prepared the technical documentation, what surprised them along the way, and what the certification process looked like in practice.
