Can we calculate which EU politician has the most influence?
Join us for an inspiring session exploring the intersection of data science and democratic transparency. In an age where political processes can often feel opaque, how can we use modern network analysis to understand the complex ties binding politicians, lobbyists, and decision-makers together?
Network analysis provides a digital "X-ray vision" for our democracy. Rather than focusing on isolated headlines, this technique allows us to map the underlying patterns of power and influence that truly shape our society.
In this meetup, we move beyond abstract theory to explore the practical ways technology can be used to strengthen democratic values.
We will dive into:
* **Mapping the EU Lobbying Landscape:** Insights from network analysis of meeting activity between politicians and lobbyists at both the European Parliament and Commission levels.
* **The Architecture of Power:** How we can visualize and understand the frequency and reach of interest groups and their access to the political system.
* **Transparency in Practice:** How data-driven techniques empower journalists, researchers, and citizens to hold decision-makers accountable and gain a deeper understanding of legislative processes.
**About the Speakers:**
**Inge-Maria Falbe-Maier** and **Marie Jessen Skau** have developed a deep focus on leveraging data and network analysis to uncover the dynamics of political influence. Through their recent research project, they have mapped and analyzed the meeting activities between politicians and lobbyists within the European Union's key institutions. By examining datasets from the European Parliament and the European Commission, they bring a fresh, data-driven perspective to how we can uncover "hidden networks" and use technical analysis to foster a more informed public.
Come prepared for a constructive dialogue on how we can learn from these analytical approaches to build a more transparent, resilient, and connected digital future. We look forward to seeing you there!
MVC vs MinimalAPI vs FastEnpoints and Custom Templates in .NET
Spring is in the air and time for another edition of .NET Skåne!
Join us at The Tribe's new offices at Skeppsbron in Malmö!
**IMPORTANT**: If you have signed up to the event but can't make for some reason please cancel your spot in good time before the event so the spot is free for someone else to attend.
**Agenda:**
**WebAPI: MVC vs MinimalAPI vs FastEnpoints**
(Johan Olsson)
When building a REST API in ASP.NET Core, you can choose between Controllers (MVC), Minimal APIs, and FastEndpoints. In this talk, we’ll explore the differences between these approaches and discuss when you might choose one over the others.
**Lightning talk: Why should a .NET developer care about WebAssembly beyond the browser?**
(Adam Mrozek)
WebAssembly is a portable, sandboxed execution layer with growing relevance for backend and cloud scenarios.
In this talk, we’ll explore how .NET runs on WASM and what the runtime model looks like.
We will look at use cases like: secure plugins, multi-tenant systems, and custom business logic.
Finally, we will see why this technology is becoming increasingly important outside the browser.
**Custom Templates in .NET**
(Johnny Cederholm)
We have all seem and used them, the built-in templates that ship with the .NET SDK. Even if they serve a purpose they sometimes miss what we need. In this talk we will have a look at custom templates in .NET, what it is and how we can create our own templates.
**About the Speakers:**
[Johan Olsson](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jolsson800)
Johan is a software architect/developer with extensive experience within the IT-industry. He started coding back in the dark ages (the early eighties) and hasn’t stopped yet. Learning new things and sharing knowledge is as important to him as beer. Life is meaningless without it.
[Adam Mrozek](https://www.linkedin.com/in/awmrozek)
Adam Mrozek is a .NET developer who enjoys working across abstraction layers, from low-level systems and runtimes to high-level application development. He has contributed to the WebAssembly Reference Interpreter and has a strong interest in runtime and legacy systems.

The Philosophy of HAPPINESS (!) — From Buddha to Brain Scans! We will explore...
**“The Philosophy of Happiness (!) — From Buddha to Brain Scans”**
Meaning, Pleasure, Discipline, Faith, and What It Means to Live Well
Everyone wants to be happy—but no one seems to agree on what that actually means. Is happiness inner peace or external success? Pleasure or purpose? Detachment, discipline, faith, or self-optimization? Across history, cultures, and now science, radically different answers compete for our attention.
This isn’t a self-help workshop or a mindfulness class. It’s a philosophical conversation about happiness as an idea, a practice, and a social goal.
***
**Topics we’ll touch on:**
* Buddha and the end of suffering: desire, attachment, and liberation
* Stoicism: control, resilience, and emotional discipline
* Hedonism: pleasure, limits, and whether “more” ever satisfies
* Religion and happiness: salvation, meaning, and transcendence
* Modern self-help: empowerment, illusion, or coping strategy?
* What does science say? Brains, dopamine, habits, and well-being data
* Can a society be “happy”—and should happiness be a political goal?
* And finally… is happiness something to pursue, cultivate, accept—or stop chasing altogether?
Casual discussion. No philosophical or scientific background required—just curiosity and lived experience. Whether you feel content, restless, skeptical, or searching—you’re not alone.
Let’s explore happiness not as a slogan—but as one of humanity’s oldest and hardest questions.

Lets go see Clue the movie at Huset's Biograf
Clue the movie is one of my all-time favorite movies, based on the popular board game Clue/Cluedo. It's a hilarious black comedy/mystery film with the characters from the game. There are multiple endings and back when it was shown in the theater, the three possibilities were screened at different theaters, but now you get all the endings in one showing.
You can buy your ticket on Billetto at this [link ](https://billetto.dk/e/cluedo-1985-billetter-1837283?bref=eyJzIjoiYmlsbGV0dG8iLCJtIjoiYmlsbGV0dG8iLCJjIjoiZmluZCIsImNvIjoiM0RLIiwidCI6MTc2OTQzODgyNn0%3D). They are without seat number.
We can meet at 19:00 at the Cinema Cafe at Huset and maybe have a drink before the movie starts and find seats together. It ends at 21:00. If anyone feels up for some board games at Bastard after and there is a table we could also do that.

From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
**Abstract**
Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively.
This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way.
