Hope in the Age of AI: How Your Design System Just Might Save You
**UX Hub** is thrilled to welcome you to an event hosted by [Docplanner](https://www.docplanner.com) at their beautiful office in Poblenou, in the heart of Barcelona's innovation district.
**Hope in the Age of AI: How Your Design System Just Might Save You**
As AI accelerates the pace of production, the fear of being "out-paced" is real. But designers already hold the key to the future: the Design System. Far from just a library of components, a robust Design System sits at the critical intersection of design and code—the exact language AI speaks. In this talk, we’ll explore why the foundations you’ve already built are the ultimate launchpad for AI-driven scale and speed. Learn how to pivot your design system from a static resource into an automated engine, ensuring that as we scale at the speed of light, Design remains the pilot, not just a passenger.

DevOps BCN Meetup - April 2026
**Hello, fellow DevOps enthusiasts 🤓**
On **April 28th**, we'll meet again for a couple of insightful talks, hosted by **[ERNI](https://www.betterask.erni/es-es/)**!
📍**Location**: El Triangle\, Pl\. de Catalunya\, 1\-4\, 3º planta\, Barcelona \| [https://maps.app.goo.gl/o6PfJFXRxhYPWSwr7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/o6PfJFXRxhYPWSwr7)
\-\-\-\-\-\-
📅 **Agenda**
* **18:30 - 18:40** Welcome from the hosts
* **18:45 - 19:30** Proxmox HCS (Home Cloud Services)
* **19:30 - 20:15** FinOps from Code: Controlling Cloud Costs with Terraform and Infracost
* **20:15 - 21:00** Networking & Snacks
\-\-\-\-\-\-
**🎤 Talks & Speakers**
* **Title: "Proxmox HCS (Home Cloud Services)"**
* **Speaker**: [Oliana Cintas](https://www.linkedin.com/in/oliana-cintas-grau-7a393a160/) - *Senior IT consultant at [ERNI](https://www.betterask.erni/es-es/).*
* **Duration**: 30-45 mins
* **Abstract**: In this session, Oliana will demonstrate how to use the open-source platform Proxmox to build a personal data center or "HomeLab" for less than 250€. We will walk through a real-world scenario: deploying a frontend web app using a fully automated CI/CD pipeline. You’ll learn how to integrate GitLab, LXC containers, and Terraform to mirror professional environments right from your living room. Stepping into a specialized, high-stakes role can be intimidating—especially when mistakes are costly. DevOps is the perfect example: the "barrier to entry" often feels like it requires a massive enterprise budget just to practice. But is it possible to master production-grade DevOps without breaking the bank?
* **About**: Oliana Cintas is a Maker with over 8 years of experience in the automotive sector. He is the former co-owner of a non-profit maker association and an app startup.
***
* **Title: "FinOps from Code: Controlling Cloud Costs with Terraform and Infracost"**
* **Speaker**: [Julia Lamenza](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jlamenza/) - *Senior SRE & Cloud Architect - Consultant*
* **Duration**: 30-45 mins
* **Abstract**: Cloud costs often become visible only after deployment. In fast-moving environments, engineering teams can unintentionally introduce expensive infrastructure changes with every pull request. This talk explores how to shift left cost awareness by embedding FinOps directly into the development workflow. Using Terraform and Infracost, we can bring real-time cost estimation into pull requests, enabling engineers to understand the financial impact of their changes before deployment.
* **About**: Site Reliability Engineer with 13+ years of experience building and operating scalable infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments. Outside of work, she enjoys speaking at tech events, exploring new places, and building connections within the community.

IsardVDI: de desplegar escriptoris virtuals a executar IA locals
Ponent: Alberto Larraz, cofundador d'IsardVDI
📅 **Data:** 28 d'abril
⏰ **Hora d'inici de la xerrada:** 19:00 h
📍 **Ubicació:** [Akasha Hub](https://maps.app.goo.gl/CZE8q8uaag8UgnRCA) \- Carrer de la Verneda\, 19\, Nau 1 · Barcelona

ReactJS Barcelona x Preply Meetup
Second Meetup in April OMG!!! Let's gooo! We have some amazing speakers, and of course, pizza and drinks will be available after the event.
──────────
**18:30: Welcome**
Grab a drink and a seat until everybody arrives!
**18:50 Intro by Host Neciu Dan**
**19:00 Front-end testing at Preply: Shifting left towards component testing with Storybook**
Speakers: Lukasz Rados and Dominika Szukala, both Senior Frontend Engineers at Preply
Preply invested a lot into E2E testing in the past, but this approach wasn’t scaling well for us. With the advent of the company rebrand and the new engineering excellence culture, Preply needed a new approach to front-end testing. We (Dominika and Lukasz) embarked on a project to apply the new Engineering Excellence principles to front-end testing, providing the tools and fixing the current context to steer the whole company toward component tests.
**19:25** **AI vs. App Engineer. Claude vs. Stack Overflow,**
**or How an Animation Task Can Change the Perception of Your Work**
Speaker: Arthur Repin, App Engineer at Preply
I had a task, that initially looked like a routine change. Normally, I would handle it the usual way: check the documentation, browse Stack Overflow, try a few naive solutions, iterate, and get it done.
But not this time.
This is a story about how a wrong estimate can actually pay off later by saving time on future tasks. It’s a journey through misjudged effort, shifting approaches, unexpected struggles, and the lessons learned along the way.
It also includes a deep technical dive into React Native animations, exploring complex animation patterns and why achieving smooth performance, especially on Android, is still a challenge.
This talk is for engineers who want a deeper understanding of React Native animations and a reminder of why engineers still matter in the age of AI.
**19:50: Drinks and networking!**

No slides. No speaker. No agenda. Just developers talking shop over a cold one.
This is an informal gathering for engineers, founders, and builders who are deep in the agentic coding trenches — using tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, OpenCode, or rolling their own agent pipelines. Come swap what's actually working, what blew up in production, and what you're excited about right now.
We'll be at Barcelona, and the format is simple: show up, grab a drink, and share what you know. Bring a laptop if you want to show something, but it's not required.
WhatsApp Group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GVS0bHMPIzID3Ch9lt6YsU?mode=gi_t
**What we talk about (but not limited to):**
*Agentic coding workflows and tooling
- Prompt engineering & context engineering in practice
*Multi-agent architectures and orchestration
- AI-native product building
*What's broken in the ecosystem and how you're working around it
**Who should come:** Developers, technical founders, and AI engineers who build with (or on top of) LLMs. All levels welcome — senior devs with war stories and curious beginners both make the conversation better.
**Format:** Open conversation, round-table style. Everyone teaches, everyone learns.

Columbus Arduino Raspberry Pi Enthusiasts (CARPE) (Check Location)
Bring your Raspberry Pi, Arduino, microcontroller, or any other electronic project and join fellow electronics makers for a night of creativity and collaboration!
This session is open forum to share your current projects—whether complete or in progress, it’s all interesting! Whether you’re deep into embedded systems, exploring new ideas, or just getting started, you’ll find a welcoming space to collaborate, share, and get inspired.
**New to electronics or curious about tinkering?**
You’re absolutely welcome. If you’re a beginner and want to experiment, I’ll have a couple of starter kits available so you can try things out—whether that’s blinking your first LED, putting something on a display, or experimenting with simple sensors. No pressure and no experience required—just an interest in learning and building.
While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability. This session will be at the Worthington Park Library in the Olentangy Meeting Room.
