Unser internationales Sprachcafé richtet sich an Alt- und Neu-Berliner\*innen, Reisende und Anwohner\*innen - alle sind willkommen! Um das Eis zu brechen, haben wir verschiedene Spieleinheiten vorbereitet - wie zum Beispiel ein Kennlern-Bingo, Impro-Theater-Übungen und ein kleines Berlin-Quiz. Selbstverständlich ist die Teilnahme an den Spielen freiwillig und ihr könnt euch gerne einfach gemütlich unterhalten. Viele Männer funktionieren gut. Im Job, in der Beziehung, im Alltag. Aber irgendwann kommt dieses Gefühl: Das hier bin nicht wirklich ich. Nicht unbedingt als großer Knall. Eher als leises Unbehagen. Das Gefühl, dass mehr in dir steckt, als du bisher gelebt hast, und du noch nie wirklich den Raum hattest, dieser Frage ehrlich nachzugehen. Genau dafür ist dieser Workshop. Du arbeitest in Übungen, die dir zeigen, was du über dich selbst bereits weißt, aber noch nicht siehst. Du sprichst mit anderen Männern, die sich dieselben Fragen stellen. Was du dabei entdeckst, lässt sich schwer in Worte fassen. Für Männer, die anfangen hinzuschauen. Die nicht mehr jeden unbequemen Gedanken wegdrücken wollen. Die bereit sind, sich selbst eine ehrliche Antwort zu geben. Du brauchst keine Vorerfahrung. Keine bestimmte Lebenssituation. ## AIKIDO INTRO COURSE FOR LGBTQIA+ PEOPLE AND FRIENDS Have you been curious about Aikido — and wanted to try it alongside other queer people? This four-hour course offers a first look at the fundamentals, with no prior experience required and no performance pressure. It’s designed for LGBTQIA+ people and their friends who want to try Aikido for the first time, or who have taken a few steps already and want to go deeper. ### WHAT THE COURSE COVERS ### Two training sessions of 90 minutes each. We start with functional movement and breathing exercises. From there, we get familiar with the mat: a range of rolling movements to help you move safely and fluidly. Gradually, you develop a sense of space, balance, and your own body. The basic steps of Aikido are introduced one at a time — Tai Sabaki, Tenkan, Irimi. The terms may sound unfamiliar, but the movements are natural. Everything you need, you’ll learn in the course. In partner exercises, we explore simple Aikido techniques together. The focus is on understanding the underlying principles: How do I use movement instead of force? How do I stay connected to the person across from me? ### TEA BREAK There’s time in between to catch your breath, rest, and talk with the instructors and other participants. ### SLOW PRACTICE MEANS FASTER LEARNING This isn’t about collecting as many techniques as possible. Stairs and ladders help us get up high. On the other side of river Elbe, you see the fortress Königsstein, out of the forest rises the mighty Falkenstein. The deeply cut passage between the rocks is completely covered with sand and looks like a piece of desert and is a unique photo opportunity. * **Schmilka:** This traditional village is often described as the most beautiful village in Saxony. * **Bad Schandau:** Hike, feel good, come back - that is the motto under which Bad Schandau welcomes its guests. Beautifully situated on the Elbe, Bad Schandau is the most centrally located holiday resort in Saxon Switzerland. The small town with its typical medieval centre invites you to take a leisurely stroll through its cafés, restaurants and shops. **HVLtech KIDS LABS – Free Tech Workshops for Kids** **Registration required – email meetup@hvltech.de to sign up! The Havelland Tech Community invites kids and their families to **KIDS LABS** – a free event with two workshops for different age groups. * **When:** Sunday, April 19, 2026, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (doors open 9:45) * **Where:** Kulturhaus "Johannes R. Becher", Havelländer Weg 67, Falkensee (1st floor) * **Cost:** Free! * **Languages:** German & English **Workshop 1: Electronics (ages 6+, max. 15 spots)** Kids learn to build glowing circuits from paper, LEDs, and coin batteries, no experience needed! All materials are provided on-site, just show up and start building. We ask parents to stay with kids during the event. **Workshop 2: Minecraft Modding (ages 10+, max. 10 spots)** Kids design their own items in Blockbench – a building block, a weapon, and a food item – then import them into Minecraft and play together! Over time I'm hoping to organize a hike to all the Franklin County Metro Parks. This is the first one so if you're interested jump in! We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop. Pace of around 3.5 mph but no one left behind. If there is an interest we can grab lunch nearby afterward.

We'll hike 3.4 miles on the Killdeer and Yellowlegs Trails - both out and back gravel trails. If we want more mileage we can repeat an out and back. Pace of around 3.5 mph, no one left behind and those who want to go faster sure can! As always optional lunch after. This is the second Metro Park in the lineup for me - with 21 to go (plus more are being added).
