Release & Reset Yoga at Dieweg (Uccle)
**Release & Reset Yoga:** **Gentle flow to unwind, breathe, and reset**
(please register in advance at [https://ewalitke.com/yoga/#agenda](https://ewalitke.com/yoga/#agenda))
Do you ever feel like your head is racing 24/7, and the constant "run" of daily life is making you lose perspective? Many of us spend our days in a "*business spin*," caught in a whirlwind of meetings and deadlines where we literally forget to breathe.
If you are looking for more than just a workout, but a place to **stop the autopilot** and reconnect with yourself — this class is for you.
**What makes this class different?**
This isn't a mass-market gym session where you're just another face in the crowd. It is a tailor-made experience in a safe, intimate group where your individual needs are truly seen and answered. I don't believe in "*performing*" or pushing to 100%. Instead, we focus on intention, listening to our bodies, and finding that sweet spot where physical challenge meets deep relaxation.
**The Experience:**
* **The "*Switch*":** We begin by centering ourselves, shifting the "*gear*" from work mode to being present.
* **Active Flow:** A structured, balanced practice to strengthen your body and address those "office life" aches in the back, neck, and wrists.
* **The Soothing Finish:** A student favorite. We end with a long, guided relaxation and Savasana — a "balm of relief" for your nervous system that helps you drop the stress and leave feeling 100% better.
Come as you are, whether you're tired, stressed, or just need a moment for yourself. Let’s step off the treadmill together and **recharge your week.**
**Every Tuesday \| Suitable for all levels \| Beginners are warmly welcome\!**

Roleplaying Session (2 of 2): The Orchard of Glass Wolves
**Read this carefully before signing up!**
[Dungeon World](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_World) is a narrative high fantasy roleplaying game, built on the [Powered by the Apocalypse](https://www.forbes.com/sites/robwieland/2020/12/29/a-beginners-guide-to-powered-by-the-apocalypse-games/) framework. It was first published in 2011 and has since become one of the most popular tabletop RPGs in the world.
Two years ago, the original creators of Dungeon World commissioned a new design team to develop **Dungeon World 2**, bringing the game up-to-date and taking into account 15 years of evolution, creativity and play in the PbtA community since the early days of the game. This new ruleset is not yet ready for public testing, but a series of closed alphas took place in 2025.
On 2 February 2026, a 'final alpha' ruleset was distributed to a small community for a round of playtesting during the spring. This game is part of that playtesting round.
**About this game**
Using the final alpha ruleset, we will design a set of characters and then jump into a short adventure entitled The Orchard of Glass Wolves.
You don't have to know anything about Dungeon World or have any specific roleplaying experience to join the game. The ruleset is designed to be beginner-friendly.
Also, it's worth saying that I (as GM) have been working with Dungeon World for many years, but the new alpha ruleset contains a lot of new stuff for me too, so we will be discovering it together!
The outcome of our game, and our feedback on the experimental ruleset, will be shared directly with the designers.
**This adventure will take *two evenings* to complete. If you want to take part, you need to be available on *both* the following dates:**
* **Sunday 15 February, 19:00 at Outpost Brussels** [(sign up)](https://www.meetup.com/boardgamemonkeys/events/313187960/)
* **Tuesday 17 February, 19:00 at Outpost Brussels**
**Please do not sign up for just one session. You must sign up for both -- or neither!**
If you do sign up, please do so in a spirit of experimentation, patience and good humour, and let's see where the game takes us...

Escape the city bustle and join us for a magical evening walk from the royal gardens of Tervuren, through the ancient Sonian Forest, ending at the picturesque Rouge Cloître.
This hike is perfect for anyone looking to unwind after work, breathe some fresh forest air, and enjoy the golden hour colors.
🗺️ The Route
We will start at the Tervuren Station (terminus of Tram 44). We’ll begin by walking through the formal gardens and ponds of Tervuren Park, enjoying the open views and the sunset light reflecting on the water.
From there, we will dive into the Sonian Forest (Zoniënwoud), walking under the canopy of the majestic beech cathedrals. The path will lead us gently downhill towards the historic Rouge Cloître (Rood Klooster), a 14th-century Augustinian priory nestled on the edge of the forest.

* The End: We aim to arrive at Rouge Cloître around 18:00.
* Après-Walk: For those interested, we can grab a drink at a local spot near
Herrmann-Debroux or at the brasserie in Rouge Cloître (depending on opening hours)
.
📋 Practical Details
* Distance: Approximately 7–8 km.
* Duration: ~2 hours walking time.
* Pace: Casual to moderate. We wait for everyone, but please be comfortable walking this distance.
* Terrain: Mostly flat/downhill with some unpaved forest paths.
🎒 What to Bring
* Comfortable Shoes: Walking shoes or sneakers (trail runners are great if it has rained recently).
* Water: Stay hydrated!
* Layers: Evenings can get chilly in the forest.
🚇 Getting Home
The walk ends at Rouge Cloître. From there, it is a short 10-15 minute walk to Herrmann-Debroux metro station (Line 5), which connects you easily back to the city center.
Note: This event is free of charge. Participation is at your own risk. Please RSVP only if you intend to come so we don't leave anyone behind!
See you on the trail! 🌳✨
The Ape That Understood the Universe by Steve Stewart-Williams
📚 Book Club Invitation: The Ape That Understood the Universe by Steve Stewart-Williams
Hello curious minds and lovers of big questions,
For our February meeting, we turn to The Ape That Understood the Universe, a fascinating and accessible exploration of how the human mind evolved to make sense of reality, from everyday beliefs to science, religion, and culture.
Steve Stewart-Williams takes us on a journey through evolutionary psychology, showing how the same mental tools that helped our ancestors survive also shape our deepest intuitions, sometimes helping us understand the world, sometimes leading us astray.
If you’ve ever wondered:
* Why humans are so good at storytelling
* How evolution shaped our beliefs about meaning, morality, and truth
* Whether science is just another cultural product… or something more
…this book offers plenty of fuel for reflection and debate.
📅 Date: Friday, 21 February
⏰ Time: 11:30
📍 Venue: Carpe Diem, Avenue de Tervuren 13, 1040 Brussels
Expect an engaging and open discussion about human nature, evolution, culture, and how an evolved ‘ape’ ended up trying to understand the universe, all in a relaxed setting with good coffee and good company.
As always, you’re welcome whether you read every chapter or just grasped the main ideas. Those who wish can stay for lunch afterward and continue the conversation informally.

🏡 Book Club Home Rules
1️⃣ You’re welcome even if you didn’t finish the book.
2️⃣ We listen to understand, not to win.
3️⃣ Curiosity, respect, and openness come first — especially when ideas challenge us.
Looking forward to another lively exchange of ideas 🧠
The ABC’s of Music Production - From Setup to Your First Track
#### Do you feel lost when opening music production software?
Starting music production can feel overwhelming. You may not know where to begin, how to connect your equipment, or how to use the software in a simple and effective way.
In this **final pilot workshop, offered free of charge**, music production teacher Federico will guide you step by step through the essential foundations of music production. This session marks the conclusion of our pilot workshop series and is an opportunity to experience the program while helping us refine future editions.
You’ll learn how to **set up your software, connect your equipment, and understand the key settings needed before you start creating.**
Federico will demonstrate using Ableton Live, but you are welcome to bring and use other DAWs such as Logic Pro, Reason, or Cubase. The concepts apply across all major music production software.
By the end of the session, you’ll understand how to move from opening your software to creating your first simple track.

Trump’s “3D Chess” in Geopolitics: Strategy or Improvised Disruption?
**This week’s session is a structured debate.**
The question is not whether you *like* Donald Trump.
The question is whether his geopolitical actions represent a coherent long-term strategic recalibration — or short-term transactional disruption.
We aim for analytical distance.
No cult energy. No Trump Derangement Syndrome.
We examine the **who**, **what, why, when, and how**:
* What concrete strategic shifts occurred under his policies?
* Why did he use tariffs, sanctions, NATO pressure, and bilateral deals as leverage?
* When does unpredictability strengthen negotiation?
* How did his approach change global alignments?
* Did he accelerate the shift from cooperation to competitive realism?
This debate welcomes different conclusions:
* Was this strategic chess?
* Was it destabilizing improvisation?
* Was it a transitional phase in a multipolar world?
* Did it expose fragilities in the liberal international order?
## **What Makes This Different**
We are not here for partisan tribalism.
**We welcome:**
* **Pro-Trump arguments**
* **Anti-Trump arguments**
* **Structural/system-level critiques**
We reject:
* Moral hysteria
* Slogan repetition
* Performative outrage
* Intellectual laziness
* TDS
This is not a space for ideological defense teams.
It is a space for stress-testing ideas.
No one will be shamed for defending or criticizing Trump.
Ideas will be challenged. Individuals will not.
## **Debate Principles**
* Speak from analysis, not emotion
* Bring facts, context, or comparative examples
* Distinguish personality from policy outcomes
* Argue ideas, not identities
Strong disagreement is expected.
Good faith is required.

Critical Theory Reading Group #5: Marcuse, One-Dimensional Man, Part II
Common Ground Book Club
An in-person reading group exploring critical theory, from the Frankfurt School to contemporary thinkers. We’ll read books and essays, and our discussions will focus on society, power, and modern phenomena: from politics to media and social trends.
Fourth Meeting
We will discuss the second and third parts of Marcuse’s “One-Dimensional Man”, Parts II and III (p. 127-261): https://files.libcom.org/files/Marcuse,%20H%20-%20One-Dimensional%20Man,%202nd%20edn.%20(Routledge,%202002).pdf
Who is it for?
No prior philosophy or theory background is required, just curiosity and a willingness to engage. I (the organiser) am not an expert; I just seek other kind souls who want to exchange thoughts ✨
Format
• Readings may be short essays, selected chapters, or full books.
• Each meeting begins with a short recap/introduction of the text.
• Open, informal discussion.
• Everyone is encouraged to bring a passage or question they found interesting, confusing, or provocative.
• Language of discussion: English.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please reach out on Meet-up or Instagram: @commongroundbe
NEW TIME-- 6 PM!! Deep Conversation-- Question Chosen in Session
Welcome to our weekly event in the upstairs room of The Sister Café, rue Chair et Pain 3, one block from the Grand Place. Please get there early enough to order your drink at the bar first. Thank you!
After introductions we will collect questions from the group participants, choose one by voting then discuss it for an hour. Then most of us stay for drinks and bizarre conversations.
Past questions have been wide and not confined to academic philosophy:
What is a genuine friend?
Is social media turning us into emotional zombies?
Do we lose some of the experience of things by defining them?
Are we driven by sex?
Is loneliness a personal failure?
Is morality relative?
**Crucially, be kind and respectful and generous** in your disagreements; remember how much you personally enjoy someone else proving you wrong before celebrating your cutting counterexamples.

A combination of offstage and onstage Elvis, comes a film that “befits the magnitude of Elvis as a performer but also offers deeper revelations of his humanity and inner life." It is written/directed by Baz Luhrmann (ELVIS, MOULIN ROUGE, THE GREAT GATSBY) and stars the legendary Elvis Presley!
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmqWusmzp0k

COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above.
There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change.
The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/).
Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. The YMCA reserves the right to run background checks on volunteers.
For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, awhit12@yahoo.com, (614)937-5802 (cell). Please let Andrew know if you volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that he can count your hours toward our service record.
