Monday Night Boardgames
Monday Night Boardgames
Weโ€™re back in 2026! Come play games with us! This venue is definitely biased towards "euro" style games but any and all games are welcome. Members will bring games that they like. Anything that is fun to play and share is welcome! Don't have a game, don't worry. We've got a decent selection, but you're always welcome to bring a game if you would like. Never played a board game before or it's been 20 years? No problem, we'd be happy to show you how to play. We love beginners, because we were all beginners at one point. Life is full of stress, let Monday nights be a fun night. Some of the games our regulars own: Settlers of Catan Power Grid Dead of Winter Terraforming Mars Stone Age Elder Sign Resistance/Avalon One Night Werewolf Hanabi Race for the Galaxy King of Tokyo Puerto Rico Ticket to Ride Europe 7 Wonders Love Letter Red Planet Century Spice Road Dune and Dark Moon Also, come to a couple of Meetups and Grab your very own discount card for Mindgames in the CBD. For 10% off and other exclusive discounts.

Struggling with study or learning? Youโ€™re not alone.
Struggling with study or learning? Youโ€™re not alone.
**Struggling with study or learning? Youโ€™re not alone.** This meetup suits people at all levels of study skill. Too many children, teenagers, and adults find studying difficultโ€”not because they lack ability, but because they were never taught **how to learn**. This meetup introduces the basics of **Study Technology**โ€”a practical, proven approach that shows how learning really works and how to overcome common study barriers. It applies to children, teens (and parents), teachers, and adults alike. Youโ€™ll discover simple, effective methods to improve understanding, confidence, and performanceโ€”whether at school, work, or online. Teachers and parents often see rapid improvements in both behaviour and results. Yes, it *is* possible to improve study performanceโ€”in just **five easy steps**. If you canโ€™t attend in person, online options are available. **Join us and learn how to study effectivelyโ€”once and for all.** See you at the meetup, **Pam** When learning clicks, confidence follows.
Indoor Rock Climbing (Urban Climb Blackburn ) - First-time to Advanced
Indoor Rock Climbing (Urban Climb Blackburn ) - First-time to Advanced
**Urban Climb Blackburn** Never climbed before? No worries at all! You're very welcome here! Just complete a quick safety induction when you arrive and the staff will walk you through everything you need to know to climb safely indoors. It's easy, friendly, and won't take long. The venue has plenty to enjoy, including a bouldering cave, speed wall, sauna facilities, and sparkling water to keep you going. This group is primarily focused on rope climbing, top roping and lead climbing, but if you'd prefer to stick to bouldering while you find your feet, that's absolutely fine too! Many of our members have their lead pass and gear, but there's no pressure at all. **Finding us:** If you arrive on time, look for us gathered around the couches in the bouldering area. We're a friendly bunch, so just come and say hi! Running a little late? No stress, just let the staff up the front know you're with the Climb Meetup group and they'll make an announcement. Someone will come and find you and introduce you around. A few of our regulars also wear a black shirt with the old logo, so keep an eye out for those. **A note on numbers:** The meetup runs every Monday and many regular members come along independently without RSVPing through the group, so the crowd is often bigger than it looks on the attendee list! If you're ever unsure whether people will be there or worried it might be a tiny group, feel free to drop the organisers a message beforehand and we'll put your mind at ease. **Fees:** Entry is paid directly to Urban Climb. You can find current pricing at [urbanclimb.com.au/pricing](https://urbanclimb.com.au/pricing/). If you hold a climbing membership elsewhere, it's worth checking your member benefits as you may be eligible for a discount. For venue info and the first-time waiver, visit [urbanclimb.com.au/locations/blackburn](https://urbanclimb.com.au/locations/blackburn/). **Stay connected:** We also have a facebook group [https://www.facebook.com/groups/663576119053808](https://www.facebook.com/groups/663576119053808) with a chat function; a great way to connect with members before or after a session!

Guided Game Night for Beginners Saturday D&D - North Melbourne
Guided Game Night for Beginners Saturday D&D - North Melbourne
**Beginner Dungeons & Dragons Night (No Experience Needed)** Play a fantasy story with a small group. Make choices. Solve problems. Work together. Itโ€™s fun, social, and easy because its hosted by a storyteller. **What is this Event** This is a beginner-friendly D&D game. You donโ€™t need to know anything. Most people are new. We teach as we play. **Small groups (limited spots**) Tables of 5โ€“6 players, we wont take anymore than this to maintain a high quality of participants. 12โ€“18 total spots in total. If you see a spot you can make, take it. They fill. **What happens when you arrive** You donโ€™t need to bring anything Youโ€™ll be seated shortly after you arrive Most people come alone You will not be the only one. **What youโ€™ll do** Play a character in a fantasy story Make choices with your group Talk, explore, and solve problems Roll dice to determine your success and see what happens (usually shenanigans) Expect to share funny and memorable moments with the people in our network. **What you donโ€™t need to worry about** You don't need to know rules new people won't slow the group down Don't need to bring anything We guide you the whole way (< why this works) **Who this is for** You work a 9โ€“5 and want to meet new people after work or on weekends. You enjoy fantasy stories, books or games You want to try dungeons and dragons You want a curated story games night that will be the highlight of your week. **Frequently Asked Questions... ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ** **Won't everyone else already know each other?** The only people who know each other are the Dungeon Masters leading each table. We don't allow groups to attend these nights, so at most there is a duo coming who already know each other. Everyone and you are super new to this. **Will I be the only girl at the event?** No, our events are generally 3:1 ratio, most tables I have seen are 2 girls and 4 guys. no promises on any individual night, but you'll find it doesn't impact your enjoyment. **I'm worried I might slow everyone else down?** Not true, pre-filled character sheets take much of the guess work out of learning the game, and the GMs have all taught tens to hundreds of people this game. *The only thing you'll want to remember is the "D20", a twenty sided dice is always used to resolve actions, whether it's picking a pocket, striking a wicked goblin or recalling history on a forgotten ruin.* *Ok, your basically ready now. seriously.* Don't believe me? Come and find out for yourself. **I'm worried I might be too old/too young for this?** so here's what you'll want to know. we usually see attendees anywhere from 19-49 years of age. normally it's 25-35ish as we often curate out events for young professionals and established professionals working locally. But I'll say this: if you get along with a mature audience of respectful people who can collaborate together - you're in for a good time. **Session** 3-hour(ish) game Run by experienced Dungeon Master 2โ€“3 tables each nigh **Before the event** You may get a message from the organiser Please reply to keep your spot **Attendance policy** Cancel early if you canโ€™t make i No-shows or late cancels may lose future spot **Donation** We take small donations to support the event and our hosts **Dinner** Some of us like to hang out after the game for a bit, usually for eats and chats
