The world of 2024 is a wasteland after a nuclear apocalypse, and a young man wanders looking for food and… well, you’ll find out. His telepathic dog helps him with his search, and it isn’t long before he finds what he’s looking for. Hwever, it won’t be nearly as good as he thinks it will be in this sleazy and sordid feature that’s garnered a cult following in part from the early starring role for Don Johnson that he’d probably prefer that everyone forgot. ■ Title — *A Boy and His Dog* ■ Director — L.Q. Run and Get Dirty! Adult Dogs in the main park, puppies in the small dog park
Our regular Sunday meetup at the Shirlington Dog Park -- members start arriving around 10:15 a.m. You'll always find an Aussie to play with. There are 3 entrances, so wander the park -- the dogs will find each other! For puppies, Shirlington has a small dog park within the larger dog park. It's the prefect place for your puppy to gain confidence and socialize with others. There is also plenty of room to run. Just a reminder, the Dog Park is under attack by the Arlington County Board of Commissioners. While early plans to decrease the size of the park by 50% has been tabled, it's important to remind Arlington County how important this park is to dogs and owners. C&O Canal - Widewater to Tavern - Placeholder
C&O Canal - Widewater to Tavern - Placeholder
Looking for a spring weekend for this one. We will be gathering in front of the Tavern at 2 pm and will walk south along the towpath or Berma Road (depending on crowds) until we reach the wide water bridge entrance (across the street from Old Anglers). Please note that on perfect fall days it may be very long wait to get into the park so please check announcements related to park entrance wait times. If you miss us at 2 pm I'm sure you can catch us if you enter the park around 3 at wide water entrance. Otherwise just run along the tow path and ask where the corgis are and I'm sure you will catch up to us. This walk should be roughly 2-4 miles total. You may turn back at any point on your own if you or your corgi is exhausted. However, please note this is NOT the "death march" version of the walk as it starts at 2pm - I will schedule the death march version by poplular request as most folks don't want to walk til they drop.
Cat Happy Hour 🍻 🐈
Cat Happy Hour 🍻 🐈
Your cat might be under 21, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t drink! We are bringing the cats to the beer garden. Feel free to come with or without a cat and get ready to socialize and raise a glass with fellow cat lovers! 🍻 This is a great opportunity to make new friends. I will be bringing one or both of my cats and they would love to meet you! If you bring your cat, make sure they are wearing a collar, harness, leash, in a backpack, carrier, and/or stroller. We will be meeting in the side tent called the “special events tent” opposite of the entrance. We have the tent fully reserved for our group! 🅿️: From the Shipgarten website, “Our free parking can be found at 1700 Old Meadow Rd McLean, VA 22102. We have a complimentary shuttle which has continuous service after 3pm on weekdays and starting at 11am on weekends.” Ⓜ️: The venue is a 7 minute walk from the McLean station on the silver line.
