Hey Folks, we're going to hold a Climate Fresk! Er...What's that? A Climate Fresk a collaborative workshop in which we will explore some of the science behind climate change and be empowered to take action. The activity looks a bit like a domino game, using educational cards created by the Fresk organisation. (https://climatefresk.org/) No previous knowlege is needed. Just come ready to learn and to share what you already know. The workshop takes a full 3 hours and will be followed by home-baked goodies 🧁 🍪 🥠 as a reward for finishing! Two of us on the International Volunteers team have recently become Climate Fresk facilitators, and this event will be our premiere. So it's a 2-for-1 : learn about climate science AND help us launch our Fresk-facilitating adventure! (Plus the free cookies!) Space is limited, so please PLEASE cancel your attendance if you can't make it! This event will be in English and is appropriate for those over 14.

Team Work and the Effect of an LLM Coding Agent
Team Work and the Effect of an LLM Coding Agent
**A 2-Hour Interactive Workshop for Engineering Teams** Large Language Models and coding agents are rapidly changing how software is written. Individual developers can suddenly produce large amounts of code quickly — sometimes even with their own swarm of AI agents. But what does this mean for **teamwork**? Does AI strengthen collaboration, or does it push teams toward more **solo development**? And how do we ensure that productivity gains don't come at the expense of **code quality, learning, or team cohesion**? This interactive workshop explores how modern AI-assisted development influences the way teams work together. Participants will leave with: * A broader understanding of **what makes teams effective** * Awareness of the **hidden trade-offs of AI-driven solo productivity** * Practical ideas to balance **individual efficiency with team performance** * A shared language for discussing **how work should get done** Your hosts: Peter Gfader and Patrick Baumgartner

Living Diversity - Nonviolent Communication weekly course in English in ZĂźrich
Living Diversity - Nonviolent Communication weekly course in English in ZĂźrich
\>\>\>\>\>\>\> All Info and registration here: https://interbeing\.ch/living\-diversity/ **– *Understand our differences and connect in conflict* –** In this course, we explore together how we can be with each other in our differences. We learn how to communicate more effectively with our loved ones, colleagues and even with people who share opposite opinions. * How can I feel understood, even when you see things differently? * How can I connect with people who think, feel, or live differently from me? * How to navigate conflict without losing myself or the other? * How to meet diversity with curiosity instead of fear? Before connecting with others, we get to know ourselves: Find out what is behind our triggers and judgments, identify our feelings and needs. This inner clarity strengthens our self empowerment and the ability to meet others on eye level instead of betraying ourself, giving up our wishes, or dominating the conversation. We learn to better understand each other in our differences and invite cooperation. We explore movements beyond polarizing debates, while staying true to ourselves, so we can belong a bit more rather than merely fit in. ## We research how to: * Listen more deeply to ourself and gain inner clarity about our needs and what really matters to us * Realise when we need self care before connecting with others * Find inner clarity when we’re triggered * Stand honestly for our needs, express our wishes and invite cooperation * Grow capacity in understanding other viewpoints * See the beautiful messages behind our judgments and the judgments of others * Be in conflict with care and connection **Facilitation Style:** During each session, we offer theoretical input, live demonstrations, group discussions, and two to three guided exercises. We share insights and tips inspired by Nonviolent Communication (NVC) by [Yoram Mosenzon](https://www.connecting2life.net/trainer/yoram-mosenzon/) and Marshall Rosenberg. But foremost we invite you to find your own way. To develop your own communication style with your inner parts and your fellow humans. Part of the sessions will be shaped by the wishes and interests of the group. We might offer themed evenings that dive deeper into specific areas of diversity where staying connected can be difficult (such as race, gender, sexual orientation, neurodivergence, mental health, illness and disability, diet, relationship styles, cultural background, political views, and our ways of relating to money and consumption,…) or explore more depth some conflict situation. You’re warmly invited to bring your personal situations so we can work with concrete, lived experiences. \>\>\>\>\>\>\> All Info and registration here: https://interbeing\.ch/living\-diversity/

Urban Sketching @ Archäologische Sammlung Uni-Zßrich [new date, new location]
Urban Sketching @ Archäologische Sammlung Uni-Zßrich [new date, new location]
Als Leitfaden dienen die Werte der Urban Sketchers: https://urbansketchers.org/de/who-we-are/#mission/ #uskzurich \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- EN UPDATE 25 March: The Graphische Sammlung (see below) is closed over the Easter weekend. However, the weather is expected to remain cold. So we’ll head ‘one door down’ to the University of Zurich’s Archaeological Collection. There, plenty of casts of historical statues are waiting for us to sketch them. Chairs are available to borrow there. Admission is free. If the weather turns out to be nice after all, we can always head to the Polyterrasse. We’ll meet inside in the museum foyer. END OF UPDATE As the weather is set to turn properly cold and unpleasant again, we are postponing our next meetup by one week to the Easter weekend. And since the first Sunday of the month falls on Easter Sunday this time, we will meet on Saturday instead. That works out rather well, because the Graphische Sammlung at ETH Zurich is opening an intriguing new exhibition: “Glaciers & Rapids. Drawn Switzerland around 1800.” It presents works from its rich holdings of 18th and 19th century Swiss drawings, including watercolours, gouaches, studies and scientifically informed depictions of the Alps. The exhibition explores how the visual image of Switzerland was shaped around 1800, through glaciers, mountain scenery and dramatic natural subjects that still resonate today. For sketchers, this promises compelling lines, tonal values, compositions and the question of how landscape can be staged through drawing. If the weather is fine, however, we can also draw outdoors instead, for example on the Polyterrasse with a view over the old town. In any case, we’ll meet indoors in front of the entrance to the Graphic Collection exhibition. More information about the exhibition can be found here: https://gs.ethz.ch Please bring your own drawing materials. No prior experience required. We sketch for about 2 hours, solo or in small groups, at an easy pace. Afterwards we regroup, share our sketches and take a group photo. As always, we follow the Urban Sketchers values: https://urbansketchers.org/who-we-are/#mission/ #uskzurich
Who Do You Think You Are? – From Nietzsche to Taylor on identity
Who Do You Think You Are? – From Nietzsche to Taylor on identity
Have you ever felt like you’re "finding yourself," only to realise you’d rather just invent someone better? Is your life a DIY project where you hold all the power? Or are you a character in a masterpiece that started long before you were born? These are the eternal questions explored in the **philosophy of identity**. On one side we have **Nietzsche** who declares ‘Become who you are’, with his ideas cemented in early existentialist thought. While on the other side **Taylor** says ‘we are self-interpreting animals’ proposing a communitarian alternative view. Who best describes your views and experience ? Come along to our next event where we discuss the two philosophers and the nature of identity. The ideas will allow us to reflect on who we are, to guide who we will be. **Preparation:** The following transcript of a discussion with [Charles Taylor](https://www.persuasion.community/p/charles-taylor-on-identity-and-modernity) and an article about [Friedrich Nietzche.](https://psyche.co/ideas/when-nietzsche-said-become-who-you-are-this-is-what-he-meant) **For Philosophical Minds Zurich theme events in general:** At our theme events, we begin with a brief topic introduction, followed by engaging discussions in small groups. It’s all about conversation, not just listening. Also, please note, we keep the atmosphere relaxed and informal—**there’s** **no pressure to speak in front of anyone**. **Important:** When you register for the event, please commit to it and don't be a NO SHOW. Presumably, when the ancient philosophers decided to go to an event, they kept to it.
We look forward to seeing you. **Payment:** You can pay at the venue (Twint/Revolut/Cash). Thus, if you want to register at Meetup just click attend - no more needed ;). We look forward to seeing you.
ZH3 Hash # 1717: The Beear-Fill Moon Hash
ZH3 Hash # 1717: The Beear-Fill Moon Hash
Hares (someone to set the route) are **PoleHerBear** and **Dr N.O.B.** Come join us! **PoleHerBear** cleverly spun a concoction of Moon fases, Hare names both given and earned to christen ZH3 #1717. Please pheel compelled to join in the phestivities in the welcoming community of Urdorf which is but a single zone beyond 110. The bag drop is a Mobility Car in the parking lot of the Glanzenberg Station. **Where**: See location. Typically within Zurich Zone 10. Look for English speakers wearing running gear. **When:** We'll meet at 6:50 pm to start at 7:00 pm. There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers all you can drink beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards. **All Welcome:** If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know: • We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is useful. • The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun. • 'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further. • The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time. • There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change. • **After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards. **Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?** If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it. 'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.* We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups. HLE - We meet again
HLE - We meet again
Hey All An Update : im under the weather and have to postpone todays meeting Hey All Its been a while and in the meantime, AI ( especially with access to tools ) has evolved substantially. The latest scores on the HLE indicate that , while still not close to Humans , AI models especially frontier models are closing the gap , albeit quite leisurely So , on to our third event , on the 25th of March at the same location. We will attempt to solve a few problems and perhaps see how an AI agent "thinks" through the same problem set. Then we can have a bit of a philosophical discussion on what it means to reason. Lets see who wins Till then Cheers elvi

Join us as we get together for an Arthouse Movie Friday event to see the A24 dark comedy /romance / psychological-thriller, THE DRAMA! The film stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as a happily engaged couple whose relationship is challenged when one discovers unsettling truths about the other. The film comes from A24, is written/directed by Kristoffer Borgli stars Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates and Zoë Winters. Bad Girls Book Club April 2026
Bad Girls Book Club April 2026
**Our April novel is: *The Hong Kong Widow* by Kristen Loesch** **This month’s novel blends gothic atmosphere with historical fiction and chilling horror, set against the haunting backdrop of China. The book is 368 pages in print and 10 hours and 42 minutes on audiobook.** In 1950s Hong Kong, Mei is a young refugee of the Chinese Communist revolution struggling to put her past in Shanghai behind her. When she receives a shocking invitation—to take part in a competition in one of the city's most notorious haunted houses, pitting six spirit mediums against one another in a series of six séances over six nights, until a single winner emerges—she has every reason to refuse. Except that the hostess, a former Shanghainese silent film star, is none other than the wife of the man who once destroyed Mei’s entire life. It is promised the winner will receive a fortune, but there is only one prize Mei wants: revenge. Decades later, the final night of that competition has become an infamous urban legend: The police were called to the scene of a brutal massacre but found no evidence, dismissing it as a collective hallucination. Mei knows what she saw, but now someone else is convinced they know what she did. She must uncover the truth about the last night she ever spent in that house—even if the ghosts of her past are waiting for her there. . . .

Discount Tuesday: THEY WILL KILL YOU at the Gateway Film Center!
Discount Tuesday: THEY WILL KILL YOU at the Gateway Film Center!
Join us as we get together for a Discount Tuesday / Choose Your Movie event to see your choice of two great films! Option 1 is the dark comedy/drama based on a true story TOW! The film stars Rose Byrne as a homeless Seattle woman how battles a towing company. Option 2 is the off-the-rails, over-the-top, action-comedy-horror THEY WILL KILL YOU! The film stars Zazie Beetz as a woman who answers a help wanted ad to be a housekeeper in a mysterious New York City high-rise not knowing its mysterious past! Here are details, trailers and our plan for this event: TOW: This dark comedy/drama is based on a true story and follows a homeless Seattle woman who fights her way out of "tow-company hell" to reclaim the car that had held her life together after receiving a tow bill for $21,634. The film stars Rose Byrne, Ariana DeBose, Demi Lovato, Octavia Spencer, Dominic Sessa, Elsie Fisher and Simon Rex! The film premiered to solid reviews at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival where critics declared, “TOW is a winner!” It’s “a story of perseverance, heart, and real fight, the kind of small human story we see less frequently these days, but need now more than ever.” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdkpcsuPAhA THEY WILL KILL YOU: A woman takes a job as a housekeeper in a NYC high-rise, unaware of the building's history of disappearances. She soon realizes the community is shrouded in mystery. The film is directed by Kirill Sokolov and Zadie Beetz, Myha'la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette. The film is being released immediately following its premiere at this year’s SXSW Festival earlier this month. Early reviews say it’s “an adrenaline rush of action-packed fights, tons of blood and gore and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments” and a movie that’s “unafraid to march to its own campy, violent, and clever little drummer!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYqQPiXpi4w PLAN: Not exactly a “Choose Your Movie” event, more like an early show and a late one (or both if you’re feeling sparky)! \* If you’d like to see TOW, please purchase your ticket for the 5:00pm showing and meet in the upstairs lobby between 4:40 and 4:50pm! \* If you plan to see THEY WILL KILL YOU, please purchase your ticket for the 7:45pm showing and meet in the upstairs lobby between 7:25 and 7:35pm! \* Tickets for both films on sale now and advance purchase is advised! Once you have yours, please list your movie of choice and seat number in the Comments section of this event. \* Also, as a reminder, close, convenient parking available in the nearby garage (Between 9th and 11th, just off High) and just $2 when you have your ticket validated at the theater!
