Join us for the next LuxBuzz Integration Breakfast:
**Co-Creating Society: Civic Participation and Social Innovation in Luxembourg**
This time, we are heading to the south of Luxembourg, with our next meeting point in Esch-sur-Alzette.
Luxembourg may be a small country but it offers unique opportunities to actively shape society. Many of you eventually ask yourselves: how can I go beyond living and working here & start contributing in a meaningful way?
We will explore together:
• What civic participation look like in Luxembourg today
• How residents can engage beyond their professional roles
• How ideas turn into concrete projects and initiatives
• What opportunities exist to contribute to social innovation and community life
This informal gathering is part of the LuxBuzz Integration Breakfast series carried out by The LuxBuzz Academy within the framework of activities organised by the [Biergerpakt by Mifa](https://www.linkedin.com/company/biergerpakt/).
We are delighted to welcome our speaker [Philippe Ternes](https://www.linkedin.com/in/philippeternes/) \- expert in civic participation\, democratic innovation & social impact\.
[Philippe](https://www.linkedin.com/in/philippeternes/) is the Founder of GENERA Social Innovations, a consulting & innovation studio working at the intersection of participatory governance, skills development, digital transformation and intercultural dialogue.
He is also a Founder and Board Member of Our Common Future, a global platform dedicated to strengthening democracy through participation, dialogue & co-creation.

The session will focus on:
• concrete pathways to civic engagement
• how to initiate or join impactful projects
• the role of communities, networks, and European programmes
• open exchange and discussion with participants
This breakfast is designed as an interactive and informal conversation in a small group, where everyone is encouraged to ask questions, share experiences and reflect together.

Networking Meeting - Luxembourg Centre
The chapter meets periodically and brings together a carefully curated group of business owners, independent and liberal professionals, sole proprietors, self-employed individuals, traders, and craftsmen. Our objective goes beyond networking, as we will work to give back to the society.
To preserve the value of these groups, each chapter will have the policy of only one representative per profession. This ensures a non-competitive environment where members can openly support one another, exchange insights, and grow together. Additionally, an attendance policy will be in place to encourage commitment and continuity, ensuring that every member contributes and benefits the collective momentum of the group.
At this initial stage, all participation revenues will be donated to a non-profit organization called SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde, reinforcing our belief that successful businesses have a responsibility beyond themselves.
The meetings will be held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Members will be encouraged to purchase drinks from the venue as they will be hosting the place at no charge for the club.
**Agenda outline:**
• People registration and welcome (10 min)
• Introduction of the agenda (2 min)
• Individual presentation (2 min p/person)
• Speech of the day (5-10 minutes) – Given only by oficial members
• Referrals and testimonials (5-10 min)
• End of the session / Open Networking (10-20 min)
**Investment packages:**
3 months: EUR 59
Half year: EUR 99
Yearly: EUR 179
As places are strictly limited, we strongly encourage you to confirm your participation as soon as possible if you wish to join us. Non-members are welcome to participate twice without being official members, and all fees paid as visitor will be deducted in case of membership enrollment.
For membership instructions, please contact the event organizer.

How to build confidence in your website's sustainability credentials
The web is at the heart of our every day lives and we understand now it has enormous sustainability impacts. So what do we do as practitioners, teams and businesses building individual websites or apps? How do we have full confidence that our tech meets our sustainability claims?
Adam Newman, Co-founder of Root & Branch is going to address these questions, demystify vendor claims and add some clarity to what it means to build, host and manage a sustainable web estate.
Adam is the co-chair of the Green Software Foundation's "SCI for web" project, writing the spec for how to apply the latest ISO standard (ISO 21031:2024) to the web as well as the co-author of a paper on the energy and emissions measurement of websites and cloud applications. He is also a contributer to the W3C Web Sustainability Guidelines and a proud co-organiser of Green Software Brighton.
Check out the Green Software Brighton [website](https://greensoftwarebrighton.co.uk/) for links to previous talks.
Arrive from 18:00 for pizza and drinks. Event will start at 18:30. We always head for a drink and a chat locally afterwards too.

2. **Publish-Blog - PowerShell for the static age**
Creating content for a blog can be challenging — running the blog itself absolutely is not! Especially when PowerShell comes into play.
**Andi Bellstedt** unveils the mechanisms behind his new blog. He demonstrates how GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines work together to build, test and publish a static website the PowerShell way.
Get practical ideas to simplify and solidify your workflows for static site creation. Along the way, there will be demos showing how AI supports parts of the development process and how these tools help maintain the blog efficiently.

## About the artists
**HP Loveshaft** is a time-traveling mad-scientist who came eye-to-eye with the Cosmic Anus & comes bearing Bad News: no-one is coming to save us. We must save ourselves & perhaps then we may save each other.
HP Loveshaft incarnated in the former Soviet Union & came of age in Hollyweird USA. His studies of sex, sushi, swing dancing, sociology, sadomasochism & astrophysics made him insufferable at parties, so he turned to drag, where he could monologue to a captive audience at leisure. When the Jewish transsexual diaspora brought him to Berlin, he was inspired to minister to his own spiritual needs in a characteristically indecent manner.
To reduce reliance on billionare-owned social media platforms, he has a monthly newsletter. You can [sign up here](%5Bhttps://app.keila.io/forms/nfrm_LPRGjqVj%5D(https://app.keila.io/forms/nfrm_LPRGjqVj)) & read the archive at [patreon](%5Bhttps://www.patreon.com/hpLoveshaftDrag%5D(https://www.patreon.com/hpLoveshaftDrag))
**Erin Crouch** Erin Crouch is an American comedian based in Germany. In 2025, she was paid by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs to tell jokes about Germans. She has been featured in Germany's largest comedy festival, Cologne International Comedy Festival in 2024, Boom Chicago Amsterdam (2021 and July 2024) Utrecht International Comedy Festival (2022) and Summer Comedy Marathon festival in Ohrid, N. Macedonia (2023). [https://www.instagram.com/erin_hahahaboohoo/](https://www.instagram.com/erin_hahahaboohoo/)
**Jess Bauldry** is a writer and comedian who claims to have quit being a people pleaser, but let’s be real—she’s still saying “yes” to things she hates. These days, she’s hard at work perfecting her resting bitch face—just kidding, she still smiles at strangers in grocery stores like a weirdo.
When not performing around Europe, Jess is the author of Substack The Alternative Expat Guide to Luxembourg and likes to steal other people’s chips.
[Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/bauldryjess/)
[Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/jess.bauldry.3/)
**Sharon VS** spent many years suppressing her comedic talent inside a full time corporate HR career. Finally realising that she's terrible with people, in 2022, she co-wrote a stand-up show and took it to Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This completely changed her life. She now only works part time in HR.
Off-stage you will find Sharon VS gathering more material by raising a teenager in Germany.
Sharon VS is a co-producer of Festrogen, the Luxembourg-based comedy festival for feminists of all genders, and a co-founder of Random Things Comedy Cologne, an inclusive open mic.
**Mari Volar** is a comedian, MC and event producer from Estonia. She can often be seen on stage in various cities across Europe, where she performs as an independent comedian, or hosting comedy events with her various comedy collectives. Mari proudly brings more feminism into her comedy and more comedy into her feminism, creating a over-the-top mix in both that simply cannot be missed. She is a co-founder of Festrogen.

The Tag Lab: Workshop your jokes with Erin Crouch
**You’re already getting up on stage. You’re writing. You’re performing. You’re grinding it out at mics.**
But if you’re honest… some of those jokes could hit harder.
Welcome to **The Tag Lab**, an accelerated, punch-up intensive designed specifically for comics who are past the “how do I hold a mic?” phase and ready to level up their material.
This workshop zeroes in on the two things that separate solid jokes from killer bits:
**1\. Finding the true kernel of your joke**
We’ll strip your material down to its comedic engine, the sharpest, funniest core idea, and rebuild from there.
**2\. Writing tags that stack laughs**
Because one punchline is nice.
Three punchlines? That’s applause breaks.
You’ll learn how to:
* Identify where your joke is ending too early
* Add tags that feel organic, not bolted on
* Heighten patterns without losing clarity
* Tighten wording so every syllable earns its place
This is not a beginner class. It’s for comics who are already performing regularly and want their existing material to punch above its weight.
Bring jokes that are “pretty good.”
Leave with jokes that consistently hit.
If you’re ready to stop hoping for laughs and start engineering them, this workshop is for you.
Participation is by advanced registration. Places are limited. [Book your spot here.](https://fienta.com/taglabfestrogen)

Contra dance with Big Scioty May 2 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Richard Ades**
**Band: The McKenzies**
**Clinton Heights Lutheran Church**
**15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/)
Please bring your own refillable water bottle.
