Tuesday Open House
TOG will be open on Tuesday evenings from 19:00 to 21:30 for a general Open House event. Expect to find members and visitors in the space up to all sorts of activities. It's a great time to drop in and see what the space is about. If you're an artist, tinkerer, maker or just plain curious, come in and see what the space is about.
Maybe you already have something to work on (or want to), have something to fix, create, design, bodge or tinker... drop in. We're also open for just for plain old social chat and hang out, with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. We have lots of free parking right outside our door.
The latest & greatest C++ features talk : Jason Turner
Hello Everyone,
**Please Note: The meeting has changed its start time from 19:00 to 20:00 due to an overbooking at the venue. The talk will go on until 22:00. If anyone has a suggestion for a bar nearby, then maybe people can meet there beforehand.**
For this meetup, we are happy to welcome Jason Turner, who will be visiting Ireland at that time. Very generously, Jason will take this opportunity to talk to us about a C++ topic of his choosing on the day.
Jason needs no introduction. If you are into C++, chances are you have encountered his work as the host of the Weekly C++ video series and the CppCast, his "C++ Best Practices" repository, or any of his other projects and contributions to the community.
All of which can be found on his website https://articles.emptycrate.com/about.html
The great folks at Anseo are graciously letting us use their upstairs room again. You are all very welcome !
See you then.
June Book Club - All Fours
June dublin book club meet up!
The book for this month is All Fours by Miranda July. This is a **social book club**, the point of this is for lighthearted conversations about shared interests. We will also use the meet up to select next months book so if you've any that you'd like to see on the list of potentials, please let me know!
**Please RSVP as soon as possible!** Fees help us ensure people show up and also cover costs of running the book club. You also have a tea/coffee included when attending. So don’t order your coffee straightht away. **Please don't click attending if you're not coming, you're taking someone else's slot.**\***\*** Unfortunately you can't use RSVP for another event. There is a one week cancellation period on every event to allow someone else time to read the book in order to take a vacated spot. Please let me know asap if you are cancelling so we have record of the time. We do not move RSVPs to different events. Also, it is compulsory to RSVP for this event as there is limited space. You will be asked to leave if you have no RSVP. These rules are to ensure we have enough space, to ensure our costs are covered and to not take up space in a venue that we don't need so we can keep going back!
Any questions, let me know! For some reason, there seems to be a slight delay from when people pay and it showing them attending. Don’t pay twice! (Of course I’ll refund if ya do) It should come through but if you have any problems just send me a message.
Lastly, if you haven't been to the book club before but you're considering coming along, do it! It's not too late to join, **new members are always welcome.** See you there
Stoney Writers Group
The goal of this group is simple: to support and encourage each other to write more (myself included).
I love writing short stories, but too often life gets in the way and I find excuses not to do it. This monthly group gathers together on the last Tuesday of every month in the lovely *Third Space* cafe in Smithfield to share and get feedback on our work.
We’ll each get the chance to share an extract from a piece we’ve written, read it aloud and get feedback (in a nice quiet creative space). Any form of writing is great – whether screenwriting, poetry, flash fiction or something else.
We pride ourselves in promoting a really friendly, safe space to share freely, but if you’d prefer to listen for the first while, that’s cool too.
If you fancy coming along:
* RSVP to an event
* Come along to a session
* Get added to our WhatsApp group once you're there
* Add a copy of your piece to our shared drive (so we can follow along as you read)
* You'll get 4 mins to read your work, and 4 mins of feedback
We have lots of regulars but always love welcoming new people, perspectives and writing, so do feel free to come along and I hope you enjoy it!

### **Format**
The session will run for around three hours in a relaxed, hands-on setting.

Marketing Monday Networking
Monthly working lunch for Columbus business owners. One specific topic, one to three actions you can run this week.
You can be the best at what you do and still be invisible. If local buyers cannot find you, the phone does not ring.
Marketing Monday Lunch + Learn is a monthly working lunch for Columbus business owners focused on building relationships, local networking, and local marketing. Every kind of local business welcome. No pitch round, no pressure, no upsell.
**This month**
Most local businesses pick one or two places to be visible and call it good. The result is inconsistent calls and a feeling that marketing is not working. We will walk through the three places every local business needs to show up, plus the fourth place most owners ignore that quietly produces the warmest leads.
**What to expect**
Doors open at noon. Order lunch and drinks at the cafe counter or bring your own. You get real conversation with other local owners and a focused marketing lesson. You leave knowing people and with one to three actions to run that week. The room is reserved through 1:30 PM.
**Who this is for**
Any local business owner who wants clearer marketing direction and real local relationships. Service businesses, retail, home services, professional services, online owners building local presence, anyone serious about being part of the Columbus business community.
**Not the right fit if**
You are here to pitch the room or recruit for an MLM.

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Learning from Everyday Data
**Practical Curiosity: Learning from Everyday Data**
How do we actually get better at utilizing our day-to-day data? Fancy dashboards and complex models might look nice and draw attention, but that’s not where most of us spend our time. In fact those shiny outputs frequently sit unused, while the real insights are drawn from the analyst’s daily practice.
Sometimes it’s as simple and as powerful as noticing that a segment is shrinking, a channel is underused, or certain links keep getting all the clicks. There’s many different places that the spark of insight can come from, but you have to keep your head in the data and know where to look.
In this session, we’ll explore real-world examples of how segmentation, testing, and click behavior can uncover practical digital marketing opportunities. You’ll leave with inspiration for your own use cases, along with a few simple ways to ask better questions, spot meaningful patterns, and make smarter decisions without overcomplicating it.
**About Our Speaker:**
[Elaine Armbruster](https://www.linkedin.com/in/elainearmbruster/) is a Director of Digital Experience at the [American Diabetes Association](https://diabetes.org/), where she focuses on using data and insights to create smarter, more effective digital experiences. A lifelong Columbus resident, she has built her career in email marketing and the broader digital user journey, and is finding she most enjoys working in the messy middle where systems, data, and big ideas don’t quite line up yet.
