Ever walked into the gym and felt unsure about what to do or how to use the machines?
This **LIFT workshop for women** is designed to help you build confidence in the gym by learning how to properly use equipment and understand the basics of strength training in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment.
Whether you’re brand new to the gym or just want to feel more comfortable using machines, this session will give you the guidance and hands-on experience to get started.
## **What You'll Learn**
* How to properly use common gym machines
* How to adjust machines to fit your body
* Proper lifting technique and form basics
* What exercises target different muscle groups
* How to move with more confidence in the gym
## **What to Expect**
This is a **small group, hands-on workshop** where you’ll learn by doing.
A certified personal trainer, **Anna Clough**, will demonstrate how to use machines and guide you through proper form so you can feel confident and safe while training.
The environment is supportive, welcoming, and judgment-free — designed specifically for women who are learning.

Instead of continuing our coverage and discussion of the book "Domain-Specific Small Language Models", in this session, members of the group will present AI projects they have been working on, relating to the recent discussions of the group including the utilization of Large and Small Language Models.

\- 7:25 \- 7:40: Project 2: Page \- A Virginia Legislative Session Chatbot – Ron will describe a RAG system he developed\, covering various implementation approaches and lessons learned\.
\- 7:45 \- 8:00: Project 3: Menta \- A Small Language Model for Mental Health – Odysseas will present an SLM designed to assess mental health conditions using message text\.
\- 8:05 \- 8:20: Project 4: Open Brain – Richard will discuss an open\-source\, distributed\, personal AI solution based on an idea by Nate B\. Jones\.

Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy nature! We meet Saturdays at 10am, by the bike racks and benches 150 feet in front of BUBBLES Hair Salon in Reston, leaving no later than 10:05.
Every week we'll walk the Green Trail to Lake Anne Plaza (\~1 mile), pause there for 5-10 minutes (water, bio, and from April-Nov a Farmer's Market), then circle the lake (2 miles) before returning to our starting point. It's roughly 3.5 miles and takes about an hour and a half.
Afterwards, some members will often head to a local restaurant to refuel and relax before tackling the rest of the day.
This event is open to all ages and fitness levels, and both friends and dogs are always welcome! We recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water bottle, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll always walk, rain or shine.
